  • There so happy :D

  • Young people of today [2012] will probably regard anybody that like The Ventures as things from a past world.

I don't care, - The Ventures are good.

  • Awesome Piece of creation and performance

Now its just 52 Years gone but even today we listen to this JOY. People will come after another 50 years from now for its centenary celebration and listen , Thumbs up if you agree.

Gracias Abraginfrance por la música y el video, lo estaba buscando desde hace dos años y hasta hoy, recién la ubiqué.

Me encanta este disco que junto con la de los Belkings (con su "tema para jóvenes enamorados") son los mejores.

    Gracias otra vez.

  • 2 years later the ventures were asked to come to Japan, but the promotor couldn't afford 4 of them so only Don and Bob came. But ever since they've been touring Japan twice a year. My first time actually seeing them was 1977 on a poolside.

  • Wonderful music, each time I listen to this it creates Awe, time and time again. One of the best piece of music. Great performers.

  • @HaroldSchreuder dont embaress the greatest ventures by comparing with justin bieber..

  • @HaroldSchreuder A little fag.

  • Comment removed

  • @kundimankid12 do not..

  • @kundimankid12 no crap

  • @kundimankid12 YOU DARE COMPARING THEM?!? YOU REALLY DO THAT?!?

  • @kundimankid12 They did'nt even need vocals.. that's how awesome they were..

  • @kundimankid12 shut up, tool.

  • @kundimankid12 Don't compare anything to Justin Bieber. Not every video needs a comment of JB.

  • @kundimankid12 Well comparing isn't really something that can be done here. Different time/era.

  • @kundimankid12 I know it´s not a comparison,no place for that!...simply Bieber and other pseudo-singers are nobody.

  • @kundimankid12 why would you compare a modern day pop star to the most revolutionary band of the 20th century..? Even arguing about it is just pathetic

  • Back then, many performers were a little scared of the camera, and what with a more rigid conforming society, people weren't so unbuttoned like they are today, and appeared too stiff. The beatles changed so many social attitudes, including adopting a take us or leave us atitude which cought on like wildfire. Like it or not, we now have a situation where ANYTHING goes on TV---perhaps too far ?

  • I really am hating people who say i'm however old and hate today's music. Just fuck off and enjoy!!!!!!

  • Why didn't they try and write some lyrics for this tune?

  • @Phantoma3 Listen to the tune and think about it. It's not really a tune, it's more of a guitar run that gets repeated several times. I think even Ira Gershwin would have had a hard time setting this tune to music. In any case, this was from a time when people liked instrumental pop music. I like it too. I know the guitar parts to nearly every song I've ever heard, but I don't know the words because I don't listen to them. I prefer how a song sounds to what the lyrics are about.

  • I live in Tokyo and have seen The Ventures live here 3 times since 2001! Still going great but not so many of them left now.

  • theres always going to be shitty pop music, its just getting easier to make

  • Usain Bolt is so fast because he never heard this song

  • Are they great or what?!

  • who else stopped at 0:59 to see what it said? ;)

  • Thanks, love their white bucs

  • Check our the power stance of the guitarist!!!

  • This is true melody and rock!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ 1:04 is he doing a one handed break down?? WTF? or is this simply the single sync'ed to a studio TV take? ..oh I saw the end..the clip repeats...so a small bit remixed. Ok. haha.. sweet. Ventures rule. So is this before Mosrite?

  • American pie ^^

  • Its baffling that this was before star trek - 0:10. What happened! Arrrgh, scary.

  • I used to listen this song when i was a young girl and that was many years ago! I still love this song though :)

  • Usain Bolt & the Gang press the dislike button

  • this is so sexy for it's time !

  • jaja voy a tocar esa cancion con unos compañeros asi que vayan a oirnos¡¡ a la E.S.T.I. 99

  • 0:58 why does the end of the right guy's guitar flash alternately ?

  • @nanotek2711 It's called a reflection. It happens when light shines on a smooth surface and is sent back (reflected).

  • @pedr0c0rreia but why is it flashing black color?

  • @nanotek2711 porque eso es de los 60 en blanco y negro

  • @liriodeguitarrista1 but why black but not white?

  • @nanotek2711 a 60s tv camera couldn't stand bright lights or flashes and turned them into dark spots

  • how the heck did you get this to sound so good???!!!!

  • That's 60's. Kennedy was still alive!

  • this is my all time fave instrumental, from a fantastic band.

  • That's was in American Pie

    Finch: Jesus

Stifler: Right this way sir (Send him to the girls bathroom on purpose)

  • Talvez o maior sucesso dos Ventures, surf rock instrumental pra lá de irada. O máximo!

  • 1:04 That drum roll let you speachless....

  • ITS FUNNY how so many cynical comments like the one offered by Zblex appear here.,SOOO people arent allowed to have opinions, and does it matter how they express them, as long as they are sincere and WHO are you? the cliche police or something. The Ventures were a great band, surpassed only by The UK'S Shadows. The only bad track they made was The Hawaii Five Oh Theme Cover

  • @bidgeums One cannot compare ..the ventures play the harder music of the two ..with lot of focus on percussion, spontaneity and flair. There is also more variety in their renditions and range that they play, the shadows with hank marvin play a more refined, mellow and controlled music ...the approaches of the two are different so theres no question of one surpassing the other

  • You're right "Tabooapl" It was real good music, because it was real musiciens with a cool spirit. And it's still good. For ever. It is good to be 15 years? I'm 40, french, and i love this music too. It's realy Rock'N'Roll! Now, it's only rock with no soul (punk rock or hard core), only violence, and it goes too fast:it's impossible to feel it. Poison Ivy love The Ventures!

  • @yrmop i disagree... i play the guitar myself....

you can feel the music even while playing fast ...

    its just a preference...

i like all music... from mozart to testament... all genres have a certain feeling in it... its just that you do not like certain kinds of music... has nothing to do with feeling in the music itself... each genre has it.. soft rock to death metal.... (exept for rap and pop... thats just autotune crap ^^ )

  • I miss when music was about music not marketability of the artist.

  • it is funny how the 2 best rated comments are meant to be cool but are now so "cliché" that they are boring

1st cliché : diss the 1 or 2 people who didn't like the song, by using the title of the song. (well i have to admit it is sometimes funny)

2nd cliché : i am young but listen to "good music, not pop trash"... ok so what ? you are like the 5000000000 people to say so, that's wonderful.

  • @Pudsy440 naaa... now they're 3 Bieber fans...

  • If the drummer had been Mel Taylor, the performance would have been terrific!

  • American Pie!

  • Got this vinyl from my father, tresure rare to find, I was always get amazed with music "Ventures" could create without all the technology that we have now.

  • All of you young people, check this music out. This is where it all came from. This song is definitely a masterpiece. Thanks for posting this.

  • Great instrumental. 2 people are Bieber fans.

  • classic !

  • this video is from another song

  • @666bafos illiterate doesn't make u a bad person. I'll read it for you: "WALK DON'T RUN". Capitals from the video, not mine

  • dude, i thought the ventures were liek teh sex pistols. aha

  • excellent band, I love and the song is my favorite ...

  • friggen awesome , what a sound , rock on .

  • I'm Nokie's grandson and i love sayin' that my grandpa rocks!

  • @bulkrivero are you really? :o

  • @bulkrivero Awesome performing. Who is your granddad btw?

  • They play wonderfully!

  • They're brilliant.

  • i wanna surf!... bye

  • brilliant band, the American version of the Shadows.

My brother had all of their stuff, and played them all the time.

    Memories.

  • @lofcfan1 i love the shadows!

  • does anyone know where u can get decent bass tabs for this :)?

  • Is it just me or do the guy to the right have a sick long neck on the guitar? Which i assume is a fender.

  • how was possible that somebody create Something so good

  • @paulix900 ooh really the grandfather of my grandfather says the same for the 83 year old people's

  • i bought this on LP (Dolton BLP 2003(monaural)) at an antique store for a few dollars and listen to it regularly..this is a great album to drink to!

  • Fantastic group but a real shame about Howie Johnson, whose spinal injury forced his retirement from the band. The power and control that Howie, and later Mel Taylor, managed to achieve from those simple drum kit setups always amazed me. The later 1962 line-up with Nokie Edwards on lead guitar never lost any of the Ventures drive either. Wonderful to listen to and watch, The Ventures! Thanks so much for posting.

  • my fave all time instrumental, love it

  • Ah that's who the Shadows copied!

  • @PenzancePete No, these are who copied the Shadows, even their little dance!

Shame that the clip was cut short at the end

  • this is the best surf rock song I've heard. Drives as hard as Pipeline but has a nice complex melody to back it up.

  • Dont forget, its before Beatles.

  • esta atoda mauser ATT LOS KZAPACHANGAS

  • i'm only 15 years old but i love this band ,it was real music oo not like the pop trash of the present.

  • @tabooapl Good on ya, mate!

  • @tabooapl In your profile is says you're 30, not 15... I am three weeks old but I'm no fool (oh, and I also think the actual pop-trash is very much out of my style unlike the good old 60's R&B and early Motown)

  • @klavss76 yes is true but i don't gonna write that really i am 15 im my profile , for personal reasons.im not lying about that

  • @tabooapl i agree and I am 12 years old, lots of music now has no soul.

  • @tabooapl im only 12

n i luv this band n i agree with this jb and rebecca black stupid autotune its absolutely trash!

  • @tabooapl im the same age and i completely agree with u and well said to lol

  • @tabooapl im 12 1/2

  • @tabooapl they where the pop trash of their day...only the pop trash used to be better

  • @tabooapl - lol. When this was new, it was regarded as pop trash

  • @tabooapl I like them too, but most people at the time thought that this was pop trash. The tune happens to be by a very, very good jazz guitarist called Johnny Smith, but basically these guys were pop stars. They were not a serious band whose work people thought would last beyond the next hit record - nobody thought that then. Same as anyone you can think of right now. It goes to show that just Being Old has a big effect on how we listen to music. Even if this is pop trash, it's still great.

  • @tabooapl Well said Young 'un--theres hope for music after all.

  • @tabooapl hiommooo

  • RIP Mel and Bob , you were the greatest .

  • まだドラムが

    1代目の時じゃん

  • i think this music spawned garage rock

  • @manwitgun55 no, surf rock

  • 素晴らしいの一言、一生ついて行きます

  • when it sticks in your head the way this one does, you know its a MASTERPIECE.

  • god! how can anyone not like this?

  • left hand vibrado- no whammy bar ?

  • From 0:32 the first guy is like this kinda cool and the second guy is like this is freak'en awesome and the third guy is like whatever!!!

THE VENTURES ARE A GREAT BAND!!!! GO VENTURES!!!! VENTURES ROCK!!! THEY ARE AWESOME!!!

  • The later versions had their tempo too fast, more running than walking. But I love this earlier version -- a more innocent sound without the fancy-pantsy gimmicks.

  • Metalhead here. This is my favorite riff of all time.
