  • @cateyes221981 Do you even have a clue wtf I'm talking about? Wtf is wrong with you

  • sad to see a death are you a pedo or something? wow the heron was defeind itself you sick creep

  • you have some mad skills of figuring out what happened to those homeboys

  • You should call Chuck Testa

  • Thanks to share this, it's realy interesting man, nice detective job....i only hope you didn't make it up yourself !!

  • Mans gonna catch Bird Flu

  • So sad! Being a city girl...I didn't realize that even another predator isn't safe when it comes dinner time! That is an amazing find!

  • you guys need to shut up will you?

  • looks like the possibility of something went thru the air that fast to take off the wing and leg clean in that way is a bullet

  • Lodged arund homeboys neck

  • Awesome! Thanks

  • What an amazing find, tragic to say the least though...

  • @slapurmommaz shut up u freak

  • @cateyes221981 fuck off, little girl..fucking clueless cunt.

  • @slapurmommaz can you not be a pedo for once in your life?

  • Sad indeed, but a very, very interesting story you've unveiled.

  • Wow...this is real animal CSI in action. In my opinion your video is a lot more helpful than those shallow top videos out there...well, at least to people interested to know more about the animal kingdom.

  • Homeboy..lol

  • eating carrion kangaroos killed by vehicles on the side of the road.

  • Unfortunately theres nothing uncommon about this, back in 1987 whilst jogging on a major highway, I came across a Brown falcon (Falco berigora), so badly mashed that I wouldnt have known it was a raptor had it not been for its talons. It most likely would have been killed by oncoming vehicles in a stoop or perhaps made a kill on the road itself. Unfortunaley when they make the kill their talons lock on and they cannot unlock and fly away that easily. Many Wedge Tailed eagles die this was by

  • Some people are saying that it was probably an electrocution, but I think the hot truck explanation fits best. Very sad, very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see they got some respect after their deaths. I know some people would be laughing at them and just generally being stupid.

  • I think he got smoked by a power line

  • @DaBluePancake i think ur ignorant there ruining this country

  • @Bigkoala77 no i think it's just an ignorant action that you immidiately diss out muslim people just because they can write arabic. and you said it like muslim's a bad thing. people like you are the ones who makes american look stupid and ignorant -,-

  • @DaBluePancake dude ur so imature just shut up ur just as bad as the muslims

thre all bad all of em fuck them......kill em all

  • @Bigkoala77 fucking ignorants.

  • @DaBluePancake u mad bro

  • @Bigkoala77 y u no calm

  • @DaBluePancake well i dont use the F word when im not mad.......its a maturaty thing

  • Happens all the time. Google bird of prey electrocution. Scrol down to see another fried raptor with prey animal still in it's grasp.

  • Great video and yes it's sad especially in the Falcon's case.

  • This is an awesome video. Thanks for filming it. :)

  • That's very rare both the predator and prey died

    Crazy!!!!

  • you should be on crime scene investigation : wild life

  • nature is so beautifully tragic

  • haha too many of these killers.

  • haha too many of these killers

  • Electrocuted for sure. Great video, but really not that sad.

  • :(((

  • HIT BY A TRUCK?!?!?!! UNCOOL!!!!!

  • people and animals don't sometimes mix well :/

  • Definitely NOT a road kill.

A tire would have flattened more than that, especially a truck tire.

As mentioned below, it was probably electrocution from a power line.

Sucks to see it go, but hey, everything dies sooner or later.

  • thanks for filming this video

  • Sad..

  • Nice vid man. Tragic but well presented, and a good piece of investigation. Life for all animals (except humans) on this planet is full of enough natural dangers without power cables being thrown into the mix. A sad fact of modern life I guess.

  • Great video!

  • Im so sad

  • wooooooooooooow... poor falcon and poor night heron(but he was fucked anyway)

  • CSI !

  • This falcon was obviously electrocuted along with it's prey. Avian electrocution is all too common because of un-safe powerline designs. I will post this link to my facebook page: Stop Avian Electrocutions.

  • @HawkMother Also, get the badge numbers of the closest power poles when you find a dead bird that you think was electrocuted. Report it and the electric company is required to make poles safe.

  • it is exactly as you say, but as an electrician/birdwatcher i have to say I think you where wrong by thinking he was hit by a car . I rather think he (the falcon) caugth the herror and tried to take him up 'away from ground predators. The falcon can sit allone on a power line but if he drag a large priece of material where electricity could pass trough he could make a short sircuit between 2 lines . Didnt the herron have any burn-marks? are there power liner near the location of the victims.

  • Amazing! Great job, thanks for uploading this.

  • Wow dude... that is really sad bro...damn, but thanks for posting such an unusual video.

  • SO SAD BUT IT HAPPENS

  • I reckon the falcon caught the heron, and was then hit by a car

  • That's some amazing commentary there, super amazing on site analysis.

  • Great video

  • Dude, those were def electric burns from wires

  • that is just sad.... horrible way to end a life of a peregrine falcon.... but then the other bird will get killed anyways...

  • It's rare to see something like this so thanks for sharing and also being so sensitive to nature and the wildlife we should all cherish. It's sad but also part of the wild. The falcon is a gorgeous bird.

  • Well done Sir! Alas every bit inful & sad as it was nesassary

  • Wow nice vid! The Peregrine Falcon is my favorite raptor and possibly my favorite animal! This is sad but amazing how stunning and pwerful a species they are. Good work!!

  • Hey man great video!!!

  • At least you have gloves on.

  • Awesome!

  • THAT SI VERY SAD... BUT DIDNT YOUR MOTHER EVA TEACH YOU THAT WILD ANIMALS LIKE BIRDS, AND SQUIRRELS HAVE, RABBIS

  • @isaiahgaines Very rare the vast majority don't have rabbies since it is a deadly disease and you don't see wildlife behaving oddly and dying all around you. And your mother should of mentioned that birds don't get rabies silly. I live in the woods and its quite safe to handle stuck or injured birds. Its common for brown bats to get into this house and though I have nothing against bats they get beat to death since they are a common rabies carrier. Domestic animals can get rabies too.

  • I clicked "Like" but I hated seeing this video. Truth be told I just had to take five minutes to have a good cry. I totally agree the bird was killed on the hot wire not under a truck. It makes me so sad when man & man made things harms God's beautiful creations. There are those who promote a better environment for falcons. Breeding programs are across the county that provide safe nesting sites. Education for the cause is important as is what you did - thank you for you concern and this video.

  • Super fascinating vid, my friend! Thanks for sharing from one bird nerd to another.

  • amazing vid dude.

  • great vid mate.... interesting!

  • Wow, what a remarkable scenario, with two equally remarkable birds. Thank you for sharing. That must have just happened if the rigor mortis hadn't set in. I'm curious though, what did you do with the bodies?

  • Wow. very sad , but great vid man.

  • فيه واحد بمكشات حاط الفيديو هذا

    يعطيه العافيه على النقل والافادة

thanks for the vid , it's so sad that happened to the poor Falcon

  • @sdgsvsv Thanks for the response; wonderful to see folks from all over the globe that care enough to write.

  • @sdgsvsv Hey I'm sorry for letting that person post hate on my video. He has been blocked, and anyone else who preaches ignorant and blind hate for other people on my videos will be removed.

  • @franchyspb

    thanks dude

your video is popular in Arabian sites which is about falcons

    good luck

  • @franchyspb good on you, its people like them that make america look bad... :/

  • really good video man. i enjoyed.

  • Thanks for sharing and also glad to find somone else that cares about wildlife.

Your awesome and I too wished he would wake up.

    Truth~Peace~Love2All

  • I've seen a gull get zapped in two pieces with my own eyes.

  • That is a very cool find. Sad to see such a beautiful animal die so suddenly, and while in the middle of doing what it was born to do, though. It does sound more like a powerline hit than a car strike though... the burns, the clean severing of the wing, the talon still being clenched around the Heron.

One more note-wow, the talon went into the wing and the shoulder... what a hit that must've been!!

  • i hope we remembered to wash our hands.. :/

  • I'd deff keep that falcon and have it repair and stuffed. Their deff beautiful birds. It's insane how fast they dive. That homie had no shot at surviving from that attack!!!!!!

  • It's not often that we see natural inquiry bringing someone out of their way from the road to stop and check something out. Thanks for taking time to investigate and describe what you saw. I also like that you described the green heron as "homeboy". Classic discoveries.

  • BZZZZZZZZZZT.

    Yup.

Sad to see. That explains why the Heron is dead too.

  • thankyou for showing this, it was very interesting. Really well explained and a sensative attitude which is unsual for youtube. cheers from the UK.

  • Wow. That's unfortunate for the bird, but it's amazing thing to see. I understand wanting the Peregrine to be alive but I think in the state he's in, that would be seriously painful. It's a good thing she/he can't feel anything anymore.

  • Best video ever.

    "...homeboy...dude...hardcore...".

Priceless commentary and such a cool find.

    Yeah. Fuck the YouTube owl.

  • thanks for this - most interesting, but sad - well presented

  • Graet detective work!

  • This is a very interesting and poignant video. Thanks for showing it and telling their story....Georgous birds!

  • "Lodged around homeboys next" I loled

  • good job ,awesome video

  • female peregrine.

No power wires? I would think that is a electricution.

Getting hit by a truck it would have let go of its prey and mangled if destroyed more then that, where if electricuted it would seize and keep holding and be burned.

  • Wow, amazing find. It's a shame this happened when he'd just gotten a meal. What a waste. But talk about a death grip. He wasn't going to let go of his food no matter what. I'm definitely a bird nerd. Thank you for sharing.

  • Falcon Grab!!!

  • muther fucker imagine that its foot got stuck in its kneck

your the man 5 stars never seen anything like this before

  • The peregrine is the fastest living thing on planet earth. No driver could hope to avoid it if those two birds dropped out of the sky in front of them. Tragic but not really anyones fault. Also could be a power line kill, i've seen birds with their talons blown off before just like that from power poles.

  • Comment removed

  • wow - nice sleuthing job!

  • such a shame...poor bird,it really deserved to live :'( but exelant footage

  • wow .......amazing video

  • Good reporting, and investigating the cause . Thanks.

  • Very interesting and so said.

  • very awsome to see that up close BUT veryyyyyy tragickly sad also a power line that he probably didnt see while flying!!!! SADDDDD BEAUTIFUL BIRD

  • Does look like a power-line wipout. Clean cut, burned...

  • ah, power line kill for sure!

  • "fer sher" but how or why does a falcon bring his meal to a thin wire to eat? Not often do they do that..

Also how does the falcon miss the line if trying to land there. He hits his leg but doesn't grab the line? He's such a sloppy lander that he also lands on the line with his wing?

I assume there aren't any hi voltage lines close enough to the incident also but that is just a guess like yours was.

He may have been caught on a catalytic converter also but I am not sure.

  • very good clip... tragic shame ... i often wonder how people can just plow through animals on the road like they are in too mych of a hurry to allow them passage... i know some are unavoidable ,,, but i have witnessed many times no effort to slow or avoid killing animals in the path of vehicles..

  • shame, good work

  • 'EvenTheOdd' you are almost certainly correct. Who am I to say that? I've rescued shit loads of fruit bats from power lines(actually most are rescued by an old english lady who lives next door to us back home), but I help her bring them down with giant bamboo. sometimes birds of prey end up on the line and often the leg or wing is burnt off at the narrow points. I love your comment. So accurate yet you've never seen it? Your a clever guy.

  • hey franchy were there powerlines around that spot?

  • wow what a disaster. so unfortunate. nice narration

  • this theory is false. esta teoria es falsa.

  • One question with the power line theory. if the birds did hit the lines as described..how did the piece of the peregrines wing severed at the wrist remain in such close proximity after falling several feet. The piece of the wing would have in theory blown further away from the main mass of the bird?Yet he obviously found it within close proximity.Maybe there was no wind and the wing fell straight to the ground with the rest of the bird.Just an observation on my part. Not looking for a dispute.

  • Damn Shame!Outstanding investigation of the carnage! You also should be commended for your narration. Well done!

  • Must have flew in from NYC...

  • A shame, both cool birds.

  • yeah well, he gonna wake up

  • My theory is that he grabbed his prey mid-air then hit a power line with the other bird thus throwing the falcons wing into a separate power line that was running parallel with the other. This would put pressure on both the wing, the talon and allow them to be electrocuted by the newly grounded electricity acquired from touching both lines at the same time. This would also explain why he didnt let go of the other bird's neck

  • @EvenTheOdd ive heard of many stories of birds getting electrocuted by power lines. absolute shame to disturb beautiful animals such as the peregrine falcon (not to say the heron isn't awesome as well)

  • @EvenTheOdd thats retarded...birds can sleep on perches because their feet lock. He had his feet locked on the other birds neck. Bad enough electric shocks would have blown the bird to bitty kibbles at the high voltage found in power lines. By the way, grounded means it is actually touching ground. birds could touch both powerlines and still not be grounded. Terrible theory dude.

  • @Spring1234777 Grounding does not mean it has to actually be touching the ground itself. If you even come into contact with something that is touching the ground such as a power line pole while touching the live wire then you will be electrocuting and likely die. If you touch two power lines at the same time you will also be electrocuted. The two birds touching one another while hitting two power lines would electrocute them both. Also things don't explode when electrocuted. lol

  • @EvenTheOdd ive taken college electrician classes, and your theory is stupid...they WOULD explode with that kind of voltage..my teacher told us of his friend who got shocked by way less than the voltage of a power line, and it blew his leg off and a few other things...something as small as a falcon on a way higher voltage would have been fried. It was hit by a car like the guy in the video said.

  • @Spring1234777 You've taken college electrician classes and still don't have a grasp of what grounding is? I must meet your "teacher". If you really want proof I could send you videos of actual lineman being electrocuted. Why be told about it when you can watch it for yourself? Also, could you please stop with the childish insults; it makes you look mentally weak.

  • @EvenTheOdd it completes the circuit but its not called grounding...regardless why do you insist on coming up with a stupid explanation....he didnt say there were powerlines nearby and the bird was on the street. Why cant you accept the obvious that it was hit by a car? The bird was not cooked, burned, or fried like those high voltage lines would do.

  • @Spring1234777 Sigh The bird was burnt. If you would like to come up with your own theory on exactly the way things happened while also accounting for the burnt wing, the missing foot, the missing wing ect. then by all means. A child could come up with "it was hit by a car". Things are not "stupid" or "retarded" simply because you disagree with them. Have some imagination. You do realize we are arguing about a dead bird right? Now that's probably worthy of being called stupid. :P

  • @EvenTheOdd not burned, just bloody..old blood gets dark. Anyway...a child can also come up with "he got shot" hmm maybe if someone get shot we should say maybe he fell on a sharp stick and a dog pulled the stick out to play with it and carried the stick off and thats why theres no stick. You have to look at the evidence. Ive seen animals get torn to pieces by the grill of a car many times. No need to come up with creative stories. It was on the road.

  • @Spring1234777 I would also like to point out the fact that not all electrocutions are created equal. The damage done is dependent on the square area being exposed to the live wire along with the duration of exposure. For example if a bird were to fly into an electric line and one of its wings clipped the pole at the same time it may still possibly survive because of such a short exposure.

  • it might have flown on an elctric powerline to rest as thats a heavy load but as soon as it touched well i need say no more

  • Definitely death by electrocution, burns, wing, leg blown off etc, such a shame , there beautiful birds, Ive actually got a pair nesting in the chalk cliffs near my house in Portsmouth UK. just going over there now to watch them with my kids, amazing!

  • wow !! very good footage.

  • Poor falcon! You could have buried it since it died

  • Its a shame ...yes I agree your a good csi,

  • thanks for sharing this,

    beautiful birds

  • great documentary...this is the reason for media as youtube! thanks!

  • It's a shame...

  • Good job of CSI, you're right about the electrocution. It happens a lot to birds of prey. Had they been hit by a vehicle, the falcon would probably have released it's grip on the heron, where as the electrocution would cause it to clamp down even harder.

  • your 100% right about haw it hapend....no vehicule involved gest the peregrin landing on a electric transformator...sad

  • Fine birds and well done for sussing out the scene. Peregrines are amazing! The gentlemans bird!

  • thanks for sharing this with us!

  • Great snapshot of the battle between predator and prey, good detective work

    Tragic

Peregrine falcons are awesome, they're my favorite birds

How come it's important to turn dead animals in to the DEC?

  • Information on the animal's diet, and health can be determined through an autopsy. Not neccessary for all animals, but these rare birds might be valuable to document for the well-being of the species in this area.

  • wow

  • I've seen this many times, they were electricuted. Near the road must be lines, and probably while bringing the Heron out of the sky they crossed a high wire. Often to see a leg missing, etc.

  • That was something I didn't consider, but makes a lot of sense; the birds were in good shape except for the burns and the broken legs. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yes, without a doubt liaiannios is correct, as the birds were struggling they flew into a power line and managed to touch 2 wires at the same time.

The burns and in particular the clenched talons are a dead giveaway (no pun intended). I was once worked on a catfish farm, we would have occasional fish kills due to aeration problems and consequently many turkey vultures hung about. Due to their wingspan, they would often touch two wires while landing on a pole and would quite literally explode.

  • Convincing, I'm just wondering how wing and foot got severed.

  • The electric arc burnt them off in an instant. That most likely was the two points where the falcon touched the power lines.

  • @franchyspb That was my first guess too. power line collision...Wow. That is a stunning discovery. Found it after looking at a recommendation of someone who viewed my video "Falcon Attack" of a falcon hunting starlings in Italy... thanks for the great documentation

  • 2:08

  • what are you talking about! He said it had burns on it, it got hit by a car bro, not shot by a shotgun lolz

  • its been shot by a shot gan

  • Fascinating. Great work on your part - Thank you!

  • tragic occurrence, but the video tells a great story

  • The most amazing video I have ever watched on u tube. Very sad as well. I'm in NY, an amateur photog only interested in raptors, and on such rare occasions have I seen a peregrine. There sure is a population deficiency down here. Excellent narration, thx for the vid and might I add - NYS DEC down on Long Island are most pathetic! And to touch on apathy- a baldy was recently found in need of rehab due to lead pellets enlarged in his chest (lead poisoned). Pretty sure it didnt make the news.

  • That is totally amazing! Thank you for posting this bit of forensics for us to see.

  • From one bird nerd to another- I applaud your detective work, and share your sentiments with regard to the tragedy involving the death of the Peregrine.

  • "youll notice the missing talon is wraped around homeboys neck" lol

  • So interesting thank you I would have done the same as you thanks for sharing quite the find and detective work

  • thats so bad. especially if peregrines are still endangered-not sure if they are-

but when i cut back to reality i seem to think" wtf this guy have dead birds for"

  • They are in New York State, and I stopped and collected them because I care about the environment and the impact that our society has on wildlife. People's apathetic attitudes are the reason animals and plants go extinct EVERY DAY. WTF indeed.

  • Damn man. Sad but, as you say, very impressive.

  • Thank you for documenting this. It's truly a sober reminder of the realities of survival in the wild. Such beautiful creatures.

  • that's kinda sad D:

  • wow...

damn D only you could find and document something so rare and important.

It is a sad but fascinating find. Sup wit the DEC ? Hear back from them yet?

    stillphil

  • Well Phil; no, the DEC has not gotten back to me yet. I don't know what to think about that...no immediate rush, as the dudes are dead and on ice. Yo, nice to hook up on this site; your vids are sick.
