Just want to let you guys know that our government may deny it, but surely my fellow people don't. The Japanese people acknowledge what Koreans had gone through. The government are liars. I'm a Japanese living in Osaka. I do not approve of this incident that my ancestors had done. Its sick. No one should be forced to do anything... especially sexually. However, its too bad i'm not a politician, because if I were, I would grow the Korea-Japan relationship into one so great Koreans and Japanese would accept each others existence.
Here in Japan, not much people like our government, they lied to us about the radiation levels.

I wish Japan would just acknowledge the atrocities commited by its previous governments and military and just move on. Even when crimes far less severe than this are committed by people from the West, there are always activists and conscientious people from the West who try to speak out for the foreigners affected. I know that many Korean militarymen fought bravely in order to protect their country in 1950-53. They were not cowards.
Many of them have been educated by Japanese, and in a position to know what Japanese army did to comfort women.

I think sometimes people forget is that rape is violence.It's the equivalent of beating the crap out of someone.If we remember that rape has been used as a war tactic in every major conflict and is NOT about sexual intimacy, it makes sense. In those days, 3 stars general of Japanese Army was paid 6,000 Yen annually. A comfort woman could get money more than army general. 10,000 Yen in those days is approx. 20 million Yen of today, 200,000 dollars.

3,000 Yen in those days would be 6,000,000 Yen (60,000 US Dollars) of today.
That was why many women wanted to be comfort women. There was no necessity for Japanese army to force them such work.

Denying that these events happened is not only false, but another injustice to the victims of these attrocites. How can any politician even attempt to say that this never happened, when you have survivors who are now openly testifiying to these events. The very least that the Japanese government can do is offer acknowledgement to these women!

Nobody denies that comfort women existed. Truth is, they were just prostitutes worked for money.

It's way off the mark to define a sex slave as a prostitute. I suggest you watch a few comfort women survivor interviews, I'm sure they wouldn't define themselves as just prostitutes. Poverty my ass!
