If base on Purchasing Power Parity, China economy is now 2/3 the size of US and the gap is closing fast. Ten years ago, China economy was $ 4.8 Trillion and now according to CIA 2010 World Fact Book, China economy has double and is $ 9.872 Trillion as compared to US $ 14,720 Trillion.
At China present rate of high economic growth, it is likely China economy will surpass US by 2020 or sooner if you take into account of Chinese Yuan being forced to appreciate as against the US $.

China still has a lot of problems. Its economy totally depends on foreign consumption. The reason China can be the biggest exporter is it has cheap laborforce and cotrolls their currency. However, some investers already started moving to Vietnam because of its cheaper and superior laborforce.
Also, a lot of countries claim that Chinese currency should be on free market to avoid inequality in a trade.

They are ruthlessly exploited by a fascist government and ruthless capitalist elite. Chinese currency should be on the free market as it is 100 percent undervalued. Revaluation would improve the standard of living for the abused Chinese workers. Must we impose a FAIR WAGES TARIFF on all Chinese goods to help the poor excluded Chinese worker get a decent share of the pie?
