  • This. Is. Incredible.

  • TY for this BEAUTIFUL rendition! I bought this album while in college when it first came out and proceeded to buy every one since. They are all vinyl but I cannot tell you how many times they have all been played. Stevie has brought so much joy and passion into my life. Amazing is the adjective I will use for now but of course words cannot adequately express his genius. Thanks once again, Bazza :)

  • zavshom diloj

  • Amazing... just amazing

  • superbe chanson et chouette montage, merci

  • Stevie Wonderful.

We are enriched by his being, a god given gift.

  • Beautiful, one of my favorite songs. Thank you for posting Bjornargw!

  • @FanaticWonder Thank you for listening. Spread his music!

  • Stevie......... No matter how much we appreciate him, it will unfortunately never be enough. It is a bar that we can never reach. So, the best that we can do is to love him, tell the uninformed, buy his music and hope that another Stevie will land on our planet. So far, only Stevie has arrived and no one has gotten close to his talent.

  • beautiful

  • His music is a priceless gift. So glad we have him. Can't imagine life without Stevie Wonder.

  • @Advconlab

I agree, stevie Wonder lost his pure voice ,I'm sad but he's old now.

he still the best artist of all time

  • @1968musicsoul pray that you live to be the "old". it is called Blessed

  • o talento dele superava o problema com a falta de visão,o cara é simplesmente um show.acompanho ele há muito tempo e me sinto uma pessoa felizarda por stevie wonder fazer parte da trilha sonora da minha vida.

  • when stevie goes i will be sad x

  • @TheFreemanuk DONT SAY THAT! D: Let's hope thats not for a looooong time. And besides...he'll forever live in our hearts! ..ugh that sounded cheesy, but its true!

  • @TheFreemanuk I'm thankful that we are here when he is too...

  • love song. buy it

  • Stevie wonder is THE BEST!!! That's all I can say!

  • neva heard anything like the riff @ 1:49, stevie is 4eva

  • This is top class. man Stevie has still got it.

    What a quality soulful delivery.

    Amazing.!

    I wish i was there.

    Dave

  • My favorite Stevie song without question. I never understood how this was never a big hit.

  • @marioTmaggot diddo, great ear man!

  • I cry every time I hear this song

  • Looking at recent Stevie clips and stuff, his voice has changed in the last decade. It's after maturing but it still rocks.

Thing is though, he can still do his old stuff pretty well. For example, the start of this song. Sounds like younger Stevie!

    I love this song :)

  • The man is almost 60. His voice is holding up extremely well, considering he has been singing professionally since the age of 10. God is preserving him well.

  • @n2mymuzic Definitely. Long live Stevie :)

  • Simply beautiful...

  • Wait! Did he say "you will bring your Black ass around"? @ 02:38 ?

    hahaha...EPIC!!!!!

This is one of my favorite Stevie songs (Out out of like 200 of my favorites) but still....that's hilarious....

  • genius and there is no one else like him

  • omg amazing as always!

  • That sharp (or is it flat?) downbeat of the piano at 1:34 really sets the tone for the rest of this song. Loss, despair, frustration, betrayal, and the passing of what what once was, all culminated in that one note.

  • I'll be your WonderWoman Stevie!

    Very well!

  • Stevie is just bad!!

  • I Never thought I'd ever get to hear "Super Woman" live, ever. - all need now is "Please don't go" live. Then I'll be a content "Stevie" man. Peace x ...

  • very well

For those wondering just saying in Dutch that I am looking forward to any next concerts by Stevie in Holland and that I think Stevie is a musical genius!

  • what a hard song to sing , big song

  • i love stevie but this is actually my first time hearing this! i know this song b/c donny hathaway (my other boo) did a live cover of this and tore it up. now i know where he got the inspiration

  • You might want to check out the entire "Music of My Mind" album. At the time it was recorded, synthesizers were just beginning to appear on the scene, and Stevie makes masterful use of them. Here in this clip, he is playing an acoustic solo piano accompaniment to his singing. On the original recording there are heartfelt synth lines, bass, drums, etc. adding to the mournful and soulful sound. The album is so full of soul that it jerks tears from your eyes and pangs from your heart.

  • I always thought this song was James Taylor-ish, and later learned Stevie actually did write and produce a song for James Taylor. Stevie is one of the most versatile artists I've ever heard. He's written songs for everyone from Michael Jackson to James Taylor to John Denver.

  • Such a passionate melody!

    A wonderful song!

A genius peice - his age is timeless, his gift is a treasure...he's a tru poet indeed.

Stevie's songs are the soundtrack for my life!!! (my favorite from him always)

    LeJuan.

  • I'm thankful that the song is just a little too long to be run into the ground over & over again on the radio. One of my all-time favorite songs & one of his best albums.

  • Can you believe Stevie was like, 21 or 22 when he wrote this song? Compare that to what people 21 or 22 are making today and the difference is mind-boggling and sometimes insulting.

  • Well Stevie is a genius cannot compare them to him unfair to them , but you are correct amazing isn't he just amazing thank God for him...

  • @RhythmBluesSoul1

Not only that, he didn't change the key of the song to make it easier to sing!! I can't think of anyone thats been in the game as long as he has - shoot, even with 10 or so years - that doesn't have trouble hitting some of those higher notes they used to sing! He sounds basically the same, just more matured. The boy is BADDDD!

  • @RhythmBluesSoul1 It's almost always insulting, actually. Thank you for commenting on the beauty of Stevie!

  • this is so beautiful. Always been one of my favorite Stevie songs.

I love the melody. class songwriting.

    dave

  • this is music, a good lesson to the musicians out there, but almost impossible to beat the master sw

  • Spring will fill the air and you will bring your black a-- around? Stevie from what I've heard and read has always been know for his sense of humor!

  • This is completely wonderful! Donny Hathaway did a live version of the second movement of this song. He sounded brilliant as well.

  • Just Perfect

  • love this has anyone got a visual?

  • I got the year wrong--my bad. 1982's Ribbon in the Sky constituted a return to form, not this which he wrote in 1972 in the middle of his greatest display of genius.

  • His voice is still the amazing instrument it's always been even if he doesn't seem able to write songs like this anymore. Sadly, his writing output has tended toward the imminently forgettable for lo these many years. Even this song represented a kind of return to form after a decade of rather trite songwriting. Don't think I don't still consider him God, though--'cause I do.

  • Am I hearing things or did Stevie say "Spring will fill the air you will bring your black ass around" on 2:39??

  • Sounds like it to me.

  • Amazing!! Stevie is wonderful!

  • Cause everything she wants to be she needs to leave behind....this man is amazing in every sense of the word....love you Stevie!

  • ..Stevie..wow,what can't i say 'bout cha?!! .there are no words i can express about your humanity, lyriscm and musicability!..you should be president..if not spokesperson for the the U.S!..what a great embassador you would be!..for people with less vision than you...i am humbled..Go Stevie!!

  • one of my favs-he is music period! this song is so beautiful! thxs for posting this.

  • wooooooooooooooonderful, i love it, "where were u when i needed u" mmmmmmmmmm, i love it, i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stevie W, is soooooooooo good to good!!!!!!!!

  • velodjazz and tamtulrod1: A combine IQ of 20!

  • I'm pretty sure they mean "bad" as in cold, awesome, wicked, amazing, etc.

    This is an amazing version.

  • Praise GOD!!! There is only one Stevie Wonder. All I can say is Praise GOD!!!!!!!

  • @iluvmyboba Lmfao

  • ahhhhhhhhhhh

    yes.

  • this is one of my favourites performances ever

    love ya stevie<3

  • Stevie, you are AN amazing genius, thank you for this song!

  • autentico genio

  • amazing hes the master and he can play with this

  • "Spring will fill the air... you will bring your black a** 'round".

    Stevie is a legend.

  • This version is almost surreal. Very great indeed.

  • I know. I never heard this live. My mom did back in the 70s (lucky soul).

  • Mi canción preferida del stevie nunca

  • me encanta esta version de superwoman una cancion del 1971 del albun music of my mind

  • this is the highlight from the abbey road gig. I waited ages to hear it again. the 30 secs from 4.01 totally slays me every time I hear it!

  • Yes, last 30 secs is unbelevable well-performed. Fantastic singer! And weee, finally he comes to Norway (20. sept) :) . Every norwegian who likes this kind of music must come ! I can't wait!

  • I was not even born when Stevie Wonder first penned this incredible song but It has always been one of my favorites. This live rendition actually brought a tear to my eye and I don't even mind admitting it!

  • Stevie breaks your heart with this performance as he sings about something so personal as a relationship that didn't work out early in his life ...And with her passing, it just tore him up ... But he takes it to a wonderful place ....

  • So true ! :)

  • let me be your superwoman

  • si mæ bjørnar....e stevie wonder favoritt gitar kisen din eller nokka? si mæ d winnberg!

  • Wheeeen the winter came, you were not around... if you don't get goose bumps, you don't know what singing from the heart is

  • I dont know what ya'll think about it, but through my own experiances this song means alot to me. This song is beautiful in every measure... it's my favorite!!!!

  • nothing better than an amazing song, sung by an amazing artist, from the heart.

  • Amazing...

  • This tremendous! must be one of the most underrated songs of all time.

  • I agree... this should have been a song that should have been heard around the world. This song can touch many people who have gone or is going through the same experiance.

  • This version is from the BBC Abbey Road concert in 2005. Perhaps surprisingly, this tune was supposedly inspired by Syreeta, Stevie's first wife. Apparently she had 'tried to boss the bull around' in their marriage (Stevie's a Taurus). In the same show though, Stevie breaks down when singing 'You and I', also about Syreeta, who had recently died.

  • Hi,

I listened to that concert on the radio & remember him breaking down.Amazed how he kept it together

  • i do not know of any dvd with this song, but it would have been wonder'ful though

  • ..music's GOD

  • oh man, is that available on an album or DVD ?

That is simply one of the best songs ever written ( and perfomed ). The original studio version is just as amazing.

  • stevies best song...and never gets airplay...love you stevie!!!

  • It is one of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs. Eric Benet did a great job on the song. He nailed it and made it his own.

  • Which live is that?

  • simply superior..

  • that mary musta been a real bitch. I know the feeling. One of his best (there are so many)

  • superwoman was written in a sarcastic way to show the viewpoint that many people had about women and their rights in the 70s

  • isn't it also about his relationship with his wife?

  • I don't believe that to be true. Please cite your source.

  • if you look it up youll see what i am talking about but i was just trying to answer your question

  • the recorded song is so full of studio magic - this was FANTASTIC to hear Superwoman w/ just voice and piano...magic

  • stevie is a trip..."spring will fill the air, and you will bring your black ass around" lol......

  • vive stevie cette chanson est geniale je l'ai écouté a lot of time...émotion...merci pour le live

  • Wonderful !! One of my top 3 Stevie Wonder tracks, great vid.

  • Stevie Wonder is so talented a wonderful gifted musician.

  • this is my favourite stevie's tune ... i've listened that 1000 times and this is still magic !! this guy is a sorcerer and this live interpretation demonstrates that he is great pianist too !!

  • i was just wondering you got the audio from for the video? thanx in advance!
