I talked to my teacher who is a EXsoldier in the army he told me Gi stands for Government issue he says he doesnt know where the Joe came from he said the name started back when his father was fighting the japanese in the pacific during wwii

Hawk, who is the team leader in the comics, was finally introduced in season 2 and given a bigger role after being ignored in season 1 and the first two miniseries. Snake Eyes and Scarlett are also gone in season 2, mostly cuz the comic books weren't gonna budge as far as keeping them a couple, and the cartoons could do nothing with them. Flint and Lady Jaye took over.
I can just see the G.I. Joe team busting a ruthless LAN party and punching a bunch of evil nerds in the face. They are always punching things. It's hilarious if you watch these intros and imagine they are glitching into their enemies. It seems like good ol cobra can't get one hit in.
@AlbertWikowonkavitz totally agree with you gijoe series had better stories than transformers but i liked the 86 movie of transformers way better than gijoe 87 movie!
of all g.i. JOE intro songs, this one sucks. Even the british Action Force version was way better. Though the 1980's G.I. Joe Movie theme song was best. And still is.
