A message for Somaye and Alex, go to Iran and preach on behalf of workers rights and freedom of association, - the first thing the Islamic regime will do is put a rope and your necks, in case you hadn't realised, you won't have a chance to come back to London and give your story when your six feet deep.
What a disgraceful video, another so called "left wing" activist defending the Iranian Islamic Regime. What is most striking is the failure to mention the fact that independent trade unions are banned in Iran, and today, many union leaders are missing or otherwise serving prison sentences for the only reason of organising industrial action on behalf of workers interests. What is even more striking is the failure to mention the many thousands of Marxists who have been hanged by the regime.
You are a naive person. Iran IS developing nuclear weapons. If Iran wants to use nuclear energy, why won't they let the West and Russia supply the fuel?? If Obama won't have the guts to bomb Iran, I hope that Israel will. They have to, because we can't have another Hitler, this time in Iran and armed with nuclear weapons
piancu you are wrong. Hitler? you're the only one proposing genocide here - bombing Iran will cause thousands of innocent civilian deaths. The world is sick of people like you claiming some sort of moral right to slaughter innocents in the name of "freedom"
You have not responded to anything I've said about Iran developing nuclear weapons. What about Iran refusing nuclear fuel from the West and Russia? What about Ahmadinejad's threats? I sure hope that the nuclear sites don't double as hotels during the evening. Nobody was talking about bombing Iranian cities. When Iran has so much oil and natural gas, why do they need to generate electricity using nuclear fuel? Don't be so naive, we know why the mullahs want nuclear weapons
There are lots of lies in this speech. Lie Number One: Somaye Zadeh is not a refugee, her parents are refugees. But how much did she get paid by the regime for these lies?
By that logic the majority of Palestinians are not refugees. Would you say the childre of those expelled from Palestine are not refugees? Secondly your suggestion that Somaye is paid by the Iranian regime is offensive. Are you suggesting that anybody who tries to counter the Neo-Con lies is paid by the regime?
She is a British citizen! Palestinians in Lebanon and Jordan and in other places don't have such citizenship so they are stateless as refugees. Any body who said the things Somaye Zadeh said is a defender of the regime. Nearly everything she said is lies. Ahmadi Nezhad is a popular man with 84% vote? This is bull shit. Va va va. There are many defenders of the regime who are paid by the regime. I ask if she is one?
The neo-cons barbaristic ideology based on war and military dominance have had unbearable consequence on humanity at this juncture. These warmongers must be stopped before is too late
The US and UK identified their new enemy long ago and are preparing the propaganda for the war ahead. One reason is to divert public opinion from their failure in the Iraq quagmire, by launching an illegal and unprovoked war of aggression against Iran.
The antiwar movements around the world must mobilize world public opinion against this terrifying scenario; the mad men like Bush and Cheney must be stopped, otherwise it will be the triumph of barbarism over civilization.
Just as a matter of interest, when did she leave Iran and why was she forced to flee? Only she seems quite supportive of the Iranian regime so I am wondering why she is a refugee?
she is not supportive of the Iranian regime, she is opposing the lies that are being used to justify an attack on Iran - which will kill thousands of iranian citizens including iranians who have fought for democracy. You appear oblivious to this and would rather line up with those that are calling for "regime change"
Good response. It seems like Iraq redux. Everything is being blamed on the Iranian regime so that they can have their pretext to do whatever they feel like doing.
She mentions female judges in Iran and evokes the name of Shirin Ebadi, the Nobel peace prize winner.
What she does not tell us is that there have been no female judges in Iran since the revolution in 1979 when the clerics ruled that female judges were unislamic. In 1975, Ebadi had become the first woman to preside over a legislative court.
Ebadi was demoted to a secretarial position. She protested and was assigned to the position of "law expert." She has since retired from this.
General pace said that Explosively Formed Projectile, EFPs, are manufactured in Iran but there's no evidence that the Iranian regime is responsible for this.
Juan Cole says that Iraq is awash with weapons from all kinds of sources.
Noam Chomsky said that WMD in Iraq were being monitored by UN inspectors but after the invasion: they vanished.

What is this about no smoking gun linking Iran and Iraqi militants? What about the Iranian made weapons found in attacks on the Allies by militants.
What about the regime not allowing candidates they do not approve of to stand for election.
If they have a flourishing democracy movement, what about allowing trade unions, as for busdrivers?
Hopeless I am afraid. Just because she is a refugee, does not mean everything she says must go unchallenged.
