Homosexuality is a sin like many other sins listed, such as stealing, lying, gluttony, murder, atheism, adultery, rape, and so one. however, there is complete forgiveness in Christ, and a chance to start again with God. Absolutely nobody has to go to hell, only those who die as unprepentent sinners gay or straight.

There actually are people who have sex without the benefit of matrimony, and, if anything, a monogamous marriage would logically decrease the spread of any sexually transmitted disease.

Gay people do loose rights and privileges, they cannot sponsor foreign partners just like any straight person can sponsor their spouses. And that is just one. Gay people pay taxes so that there are schools for the kids of straight people, gay people should have the same rights since they contribute to their country just like anybody else and they even pay more because they have smaller families than married straights with kids.

I am so glad that Prop 8 was passed. Homosexuality is a sin & those who partake in it are going to HELL. The reason I supported Prop 8 was to prevent their souls from going to hell, not because I am some evil person who wants the deny their right to love as Olbermann seems to think. Just because someone loves killing doesn't mean I am going to support homicide does it? I thank God that Prop 8 has passed & I hope NY repeals its law that legalizes same-sex marriage. It is a sin & must be stopped.

The fight for marriage equality has not weakened my 20 year marriage...it has strengthened it; I no longer take it and the rights bestowed for granted, after seeing so many people fight for the same rights and responsibilities. The marriage of my gay friends' in the pre-Prop 8 era in no way diminishes mine.

Gays were offered the same rights a married couples. They just wanted to be "married." Considering that marriage is not a constitutional right, this all proposition seemed ridiculous to me. Also, I wasn't too fond of the idea of the government being able to force churches into marrying gay couples or otherwise face a lawsuit.
Speaking as a Californian (home of Prop 8!) the arguments against gay marriage seem to exist in an otherwordly vacuum, in the context of this state and already-existing law. Specifically, to take one contention, one would have to conclude that Prop 8 supporters believe that children would be harmed by being raised by two gay guys who are married, but perfectly OK if raised by two gay guys in a domestic partnership...? Since no one, other than Christ, was able to attain to the level of the law, (old testament) Jesus came to earth, showed us it could be done (perfect in the law) gave his life as the final sacrifice thereby making the new law (new testament) the standard by which all can be saved. There are only 12 references to homosexuality in the entirety of the bible, and that is including passages that merely reference the "sin of Sodom", which MANY Christian scholars (including many who are still entirely opposed to homosexuality) have pointed out to most likely be a mistranslation, and may not have anything to do with homosexuality. There are far more mentions of "Love Thy Neighbor" or similar doctrines.

I am so glad that Prop 8 was passed. Homosexuality is a sin & those who partake in it are going to HELL. Gays were offered the same rights a married couples. They just wanted to be "married." Considering that marriage is not a constitutional right, this all proposition seemed ridiculous to me. Also, I wasn't too fond of the idea of the government being able to force churches into marrying gay couples or otherwise face a lawsuit.

Speaking as a Californian (home of Prop 8!) the arguments against gay marriage seem to exist in an otherwordly vacuum, in the context of this state and already-existing law. Specifically, to take one contention, one would have to conclude that Prop 8 supporters believe that children would be harmed by being raised by two gay guys who are married, but perfectly OK if raised by two gay guys in a domestic partnership...? There seems to be a logical fallacy somewhere in there....

Since no one, other than Christ, was able to attain to the level of the law, (old testament) Jesus came to earth, showed us it could be done (perfect in the law) gave his life as the final sacrifice thereby making the new law (new testament) the standard by which all can be saved. There are only 12 references to homosexuality in the entirety of the bible, and that is including passages that merely reference the "sin of Sodom", which MANY Christian scholars (including many who are still entirely opposed to homosexuality) have pointed out to most likely be a mistranslation, and may not have anything to do with homosexuality. There are far more mentions of "Love Thy Neighbor" or similar doctrines.

@STRGATE7 First off I live in placer county which is the most conservative county in the state. Which is way everyone is snooty and christian... Also I do go to highschool and i'm not fat. How about instead of making observations with no present evidence you buy the book 'how to argue for five year olds' because you suck at arguing. Also i'm straight and like gay people so assuming i'm gay because i'm supporting them is something my 10 year old brother would do. Grow up bro.

@13ackings I suck at arguing? then why don't u explain to me why u like gay people and support them? being "gay" specifically implies 2 men/2 women engaging in perverted behaviour (not tru intercourse) w/ one another, which is medically proven to increase viral infection, cause injury, and shorten life span. why do u support that? perhaps, is it bcuz the world's system tells u to support it, whether u like it or not? hmm.

@STRGATE7 The same can be said of heterosexual sex. In fact, lesbian sex is far less dangerous in all the ways you described than hetero sex. By your logic, men should never have sex and women should only have sex with each other. Not to mention, the majority of the 'world system' tells us to oppose gay marriage whether we like it or not. The people who oppose prop 8 aren't saying everyone has to gay marry, we're saying everyone can chose for themselves. Your arguments defeat themselves.

@STRGATE7 Close relatives cannot marry because of the danger of serious genetic defects in their children. Your horse is not a legal entity capable of making its own decisions, and so cannot perform a contract like marriage. These things do not apply to two consenting adults choosing to marry. Try again.

@razberryl history tells us that all the great empires (Babylon, Roman Empire) fell right during the time that their govts. started to allow homosexuality, bestiality, gay marriage. all the evidence is there: history, medical studies, societal breakdown right in front of our faces. marriage has always been man/woman, but when people decide to follow their lusts instead of the responsibility of a real marriage and producing/caring for their own children, then there's the breakdown.

I made my point, and I'm sure those who seek the truth in Lord God and those who kno whats really happening in our world would agree with my posts. and make no mistake, some day soon our govt. will begin to allow beastiality marriage. so what if an animal cannot perform a marriage contract? If our govt can alter the original laws of marriage, then it can shape marriage any way we like
