  • The Amiga was capable of this in the 80's... about the same time people were listening to the electronic farting noises of the NES.

  • yay!!! 8Bit-Sound great!!!!

  • Still got my Amiga,an it still works!!! :)

  • nice touch!!! love the buy screen.

Xenon 2 MB way best amiga theme, right before turrican 2 desert rocks..

  • Videogame system of the future : Amiga

  • this is the theme of John Carpenter's Assault on precinct 13 !!

  • bitmap Borthers And Team17, killers of Amiga Games

  • Great tune! The original is made from "Bomb The Bass" - very cool though if you think about the good old times and the old technology! ;-)

  • @Strap1205 ... Actually, Bomb The Bass is not the original, they only did a remix of it, the original was done about 20 years before Bomb The Bass remixed it.

    See this:

  • I remixed this song on my page...please check it out !

  • the way that alien dude talked always kinda scared me as a kid. this game and music was so awesome. things you never forget in your life

  • sounds better faster and hectic rather than slower

  • Hang on people actually played non-hacked (invicible) versions of xenon 2, no way, I left it on autofire long enough to build my ship into constant super narshwan power!

  • M.E.M.O.R.I.E.S

  • Ooh i remember this! Takes me waaaaaaaaaaay back. What a great game that was and damn that music is nice!

Wish i had an Amiga so i could play all these awesome games again, they still are better then the games released these days.

It actually took some skill to finish it. :P

  • @Frankooo79 You can, use an emulator

  • @Frankooo79 get winuae

  • @Frankooo79 you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that you can play all these games again and more- very easily too... look up "WinUAE" and good luck :)

  • @gnamp Great advice! Downloaded it last tuesday and have been playing since. :)

  • Best game music ever!

  • I still want to believe the only reason this game gets the credit it gets it's because of its music. Among shoot'em up players there's a consese this game is a pile of crap. But among amiga owners, it's like the best shooter ever.

If it was the case of the Amiga not having good shooters I would understand, but Apidya, Battle Squadron, Hybris and Z-out all deny that.

Take a look at Battle Squadron somewhere. It was released the in the same year of Xenon 2 and it kicks its ass on very department

  • @shatterhandbr83 It hink this isn't true. You are just missing the fact, that music IS an important part of a great game.I can't remember any classic that didn't feature great sound-I even claim that good music and sound are essential for a game to be any good. All games you mentioned had great sound either.

I agree that Xenon II perhaps was somewhat overrated, probably because it was a bitmap bros game, and who didn't love them that days.?! But it was a good game, besides of the sound, too.

  • @OmenFrankfurt Well, we will have to just disagree here. The game is slow, boring, the level design is incredibly lame, shops are never a good idea on shmups, the "Go Back" feature is incredibly stupid (As it is dead-ends, as it breaks the flow of the game)..

They did everything wrong for a game in this genre except the music. It's a shame Bitmap Brothers game had to be "automatically hyped". Besides The Chaos Engine and Speedball 2, their other games were average or worse.

  • @shatterhandbr83 I don't know, i actually loved most of their games during that time, the one i thought was absolutely terrible was Magic Pockets ;) The Amiga was a great all rounder in every genre whereas Consoles weren't at the time.

  • @shatterhandbr83 Gods?
