I noticed everyone is bitching about the label "Christian Band". I my self am an atheist and thus have no care in general for Christian music. But just because something is under the label Christian doesn't make it about god or even religious. Devil Wears Prada is a "Christian" band and they don't sing about god and heaven per say. It's just music, and good music at that so chill out and enjoy.
you guys, the christian music is just a label or concept used by big name labels to corral in markets... you see, there are people & parents who will only purchase music based on it's potential for 'negative' influence. (in america, their potential is defined by their religion usually). I've met bands that are in that game and simply aren't of the religion in the first place. LIke hollywood, in the music industry if there's a dollar to be made..there's a dollar to be made.

@NHSgolfpro He said in an interview he's an entertainer, not a preacher. His faith affects everything he does, but they're not necessarily a "Christian band" per se. I dislike it as much as you do. I think it's impossible to call yourself a Christian and not want to openly express it, but that's what's happening. They want to be known as Christians in a band. I guess all we can do is accept that.

Even if Anberlin themselves say they are a christian rock band, i do not; as none of their songs reflect any faith in my opinion and i like to take songs in my own perspective, not anyone elses, not even the bands.

@PCFHfurimmer That's exactly it. Anberlin is alternative, not a christian band, but they do have messages in some of their songs and are a really good band.

@NHSgolfpro He said in an interview he's an entertainer, not a preacher. His faith affects everything he does, but they're not necessarily a "Christian band" per se. I dislike it as much as you do. I think it's impossible to call yourself a Christian and not want to openly express it, but that's what's happening. They want to be known as Christians in a band. I guess all we can do is accept that.

@BlackTerrus You say that like it's a bad thing. There are plenty of musicians who label themselves as Christian bands, and those who have very religious songs as well. This was simply their chose to make and above else that should be respected. Music is music, faith is faith. The two can be combined, by all means, but why give it a label? Anberlin is a fantastic rock group. Enough said.

Does that mean their songs songs have no mention of God/no meaning of him? no. you can clearly see the messages. also the label of "christian music" is kinda stupid. is a priest more religous than a janitor? not necessarily. same basic concept with music. the label of "christian really gets it nowhere

@Amcmann95 I couldn't agree with you more there. We're not Christian by genre, but people seem to find Christian inspiration and meaning in our lyrics. Personally as well I love producing Christian music. I've worked with bands that are Christian by genre and just by faith. No difference, all the same kind people

@alone8406 just because a persons a priest doestn mean theyre more spiritual than anyone else. it just means theyve studied the word more than others, and sometimes, they havent even done that. if you want a good example of how an everyday person can be incredibly in touch with God, look up the story of brother yun. hes a poor farmer from china, who basically restarted the house church revival there, and he had no training or seminary teachings of any sort.
