Bavon and Franco sibling rivalry played out in public especially in the music industry. Had Bavon lived long enough who knows what could have happened between them musically. Fate has its own way of sorting things out.
Thanks Saddikh for the upload its tears for me as we remember Franco this wknd i celebrate each and every moment he lived musically Hongera Franco n T P OKJAZZ...............
Soki moto akufi bolobi balie ye na bandoki. mais tous les dimanches boliaka nzoto ya kristo pe bolobi amen.Est-ce que boza bondoki? that is the question!
this is franco and youlou's version. original version was recorded by himself bavon marie, franco's friend. in the song he preditcted his own death and talked about haterd in their family
Dear bonkingza, are you saying BMM was Franco's friend and not his young brother? Thanks for your comment and clarification & Thanks to Aboubacar for posting this tune and for sharing it. I don't think 'La Voix du Kongo' has an archive as rich as yours. Keep it up
I was very confused listening to this piece of Bavon MM, as you can easily hear Luambo's voice and guitar and Youlou's voice, everything to make it look a OkJazz piece. Thanks to whever contributed to the clarificaation. For one comment about Kindoki, it seems to me as every succes in africa is justify by Kindoki. However when other use their para-knowledge, sipirituality and mysticisme we (African) glorify it.
Thanx Mayamba65, I concur that this is not the origin song by Bavon. Infact (KALLE ROGERS is also right). It is evidently clear that on this posting, Youlou sings Bavons part( Almost confusing). The beat have all the hallmarks of OK JAZZ too.
No way, TPOK Jazz has tried but Bavon Marie Marie himself was different, very different. His guitar and the crystal clarity sweetness of Negro Success are very different from this one. Those of you who know know what I mean!!! Of course this is not the original song - where is the original? When you get it please post it together with LIBANGA NA LIBUMU. Thank you though.
Hi guys looking for the song france and tabuley did for Bavon. not sure the name but a line that gose Liwa ya bavon....kind of slow music. Am listening to this and its tears here in Melbourne -Australia, Thinking of the days in Nairobi and KBC playing Zilizopendwa.
I did not say Franco composed it, the name between brackets is the composer and Bavon did record it with Negro Succes, indeed. It's on the very album you see in the clip (African 360.023, 1970). It's Léon Bholen BOMBOLO, typography as on the sleeve, by the way. The three pics under him carry the names Alphonso, Samy and Gaspy. You wouldn't happen to know more about those, would you?
Thanx a lot Aboubacar siddikh ( Franco's Islam Name) No pun intended!! One of my favorite Bavon songs. Although I wonder if this is the original song. I think this is Luambo paying respects and tribute to his late brother. Top left corner of album cover is the famed Negro Success guitarist Leon Bolhen. One of the few best guitarist to have made brief stints with OK Jazz. Surely a master piece by all standards!!
Thanks Aboubacar!! Please post Savon Astral by Bholen & Bavon Marie Marie & Negro Succes.

What actually would have been the competition like between Bavon and Luambo if Bavon had not died?
