  • nobody today makes me feel as guilty as this guy, Mark Driscoll, and nobody in the past as Jesus. but he is right and they are right. my priorities need to be in the right place and of course i feel guilty when they are not. .

  • Why are there so many different religions?

  • @doireallyneed1 ...because man has always been searching for God, in things, in religions etc.....but Christianity was the only time that God had truly revealed himself...in Jesus...all the rest of the religions are missing Jesus. Blessings xo

  • @tashawn777,

Why doesn't/didn't He reveal himself to the peoples in places where they have a different dominant faith?

  • @doireallyneed1

because God isnt a clown that preforms for people, he came to HIS nation, which was the jews, since the jews took their own path, we became the christians

  • @RedStreak40,

I don't really understand what you're getting at with the clown thing. Aren't all nations HIS?

  • @doireallyneed1

my english isnt that good, what i mean by all of this is that he wasnt going to go around the world a preform, he went to the place where all the jews were and showed them, the jews that stayed with him became the christians

  • No sound??????

  • bible schooling cost money not many people have the credentials to enroll in a bible school or the correct education and it seems really unfair to us who are telented in ministry and want to learn how to serve others and Messiah using the tools we were born with.

  • @220powersoldier I hope God will use s my life.

  • me it's probably top five.

  • As a rationalist, I am different than what you see from Mars Hill members.

  • @Strefanash I get where you're getting at but this clip is just a segment from an entire sermon. So he may have addressed that stuff in the sermon itself.

  • I'm at this point. Time to gear up for some REAL evangelism =)

  • why does he evangelise if he's a calvanist? calvanists think God choses who goes to heaven and who goes to hell and there's nothing we can do about it.

  • @MrTraitorX read the definition of Calvinism. God uses us to save non believers. They don't just say one day "I think I'll follow Jesus today" God foreordained who would come to him but he also foreordained us to share the Gospel and God uses that to opens the elect's eyes.

  • @MrTraitorX Read Romans 10:10-14. that's why.

  • Amen...again!

  • @Tuxola look it up in the bible for yourself. Everything that we need to know is there! u can use the internet but make sure they back it up with scriptures and also pray about it. When u really want to know something jus ask God in prayer and he will give you the answer. Jus be patient and keep asking!

  • @Tuxola:

Thanks for your answer, but it's far too simplistic. Of course you don't have to believe everything you're told, but people will base their beliefs on what they are taught from a young age. How is a person supposed to know that they are being taught false doctrine?

  • The Christian God is interesting. Why is He going to torture the majority of His own children for eternity because they don't know Him? How is it their fault they don't know Him?

  • Does everybody have the same opportunity to be saved from hell as everybody else? Some people are born into devout Christian families, while others are born into devout non-Christian families.

  • Yes, because GOD has written his name in our heart.

GOD makes himself known to all of us.

Someone may not get the chance to hear the bible as we may. But, GOD still makes himself known to them as well.

Even People who live in the jungles know that GOD is real, That he is there. Some choose to love, respect and trust him, others choose to pray to false gods.

Just like people in our society.

  • @tracycrush:

I've heard this same response many time from both Christians and Muslims. Are you saying that God reveals himself to every person in the world and that people know this and willfully reject God? How do people who are raised in other religions know and willfully reject the true God?

  • I was born into a "devout Christian family" and after 28 years of religion, I finally found Jesus, 3000 miles away from home. If you seek him, he will show up, I have seen it,firsthand.

  • @Exoteric01:

How does a person know that he is supposed to seek Jesus in the first place? I'm not asking you about myself. I am asking you about the fates of billions of non-Christians.

I have met many Christians (as well as Muslims and other adherents) who say thinks like, "the truth is there for those who seek it". But I'm asking you to think critically about the thoughts of people who have different beliefs than yours.

    How

  • Jesus is using Mark in awesome ways. I love it.

  • ohhh thats what she said

  • Christianity is not just a belief system its also a life style!

I really loved that one ...

  • Thanks for posting great video.

  • are there also live broadcasts from the sermons?

  • Cant believe that I've just found Mars Hill and Mark last week.

  • good stuff

  • @TheDrpretorious But if the news tells you that eating more chocolate will lessen your chances of having a massive stroke in the future, go to the store and get your Hershey's before they tell you 'Sorry....this news story no longer applies. Never mind'.

  • @TheDrpretorious

Who's talking about "loading guns" ?...

enjoy twisting what people say and trying to put words in their mouth do we?...

  • I'm not trying to put words in anyones mouth, but I am pointing out that a lot of poeple have commited atrocities only to turn around and say "God spoke to me. God told me to do it." If you are hearing voices you are suffering from mental illness. If you feel you could be doing more with your life, that's not god that's you.

  • Of coarse there's nut jobs in history who have tried to use God as an excuse.

But that's no valid argument to show that Christianity and God himself promotes actions.

If a violent person truly was saved then they wouldn't be justifying violence. Christianity isn't a club to be joined, its a change of heart and mind towards love compassion and grace.

Plus do you have any idea how many have been slaughtered in history because of atheistic relativism? just saying...

check the link on your profile

  • Yeah... or just delete it & dont read it to continue in ignorance and ignore the facts.

    Reeaalll mature logical and academic....

  • I agree with LinkD3

There is sin in the world, and people do sometimes testify falsely, such as in court cases.

Also, life has no purpose IF there were no God. It's an ideology where everything amounts to nothing.

"Having hope is better than having nothing at all..."

    - Jesse Kielman

  • I would argue that there are two "purposes" to life. The first the biological purpose, make more poeple. The second is whatever purpose you personally ascribe to your life. If thats god than fine. I disagree with you, but fine. Though I disagree with the qoute you posted. Atheists might not have hope in an afterlife, but we do have hope in this life.

  • uhhh... hope for what? If whatever you do has no meaning or purpose then who cares?

  • Hope for peace amongst poeple, hope for diseases to be cured. The only meaning or purpose in our life is that which we apply importance to. But I ask the question of you, If you discovered proof that there was no god, how would your life change? Would you feel that you no longer had a reason to live? Would you feel that everything you ever did was pointless? Or would you appreciate are finite lives more?

  • @TheDrpretorious

What the heck do you mean "purpose" ??? I thought you dont believe in God? If there's no God then there's no such thing as "purpose" bud. Only meaningless relativism.

I'm sorry but your contradicting your own worldview and showing that you dont even know what you believe man.

Your basing yourself on a foundation of contradictions...

Only in God can you find absolute truth, morality, purpose, moral good, even empirical science... period.

  • Well if you read my comment again you will see "purpose" is in quotation marks. As for my first example the only innate "purpose" in biology is to procreate thus ensuring the survival of the species. As to my second example, many poeple make something their purpose in life. It may be curing the sick, or devoting your life to the expansion of human knowledge. These "purposes" are biological drives in the first case, and that which we areselves apply importance to in the second..

  • But ultimately their 'purpose' is meaningless. It's completely relative and arbitrary. In fact, i agree with Betrand Russel on the existential worldview (i think it was him) when he said: "the biggest question for modern man is, 'why not kill oneself?'"

  • Their "purpose" is not necesarily meaningless. Is it meaningless to cure cancer? No, and many poeple have devoted their life to doing so.

  • It's absolutely meaningless if we are all dust.

  • Well if it is all meaningless, how does that change your life? Do you feel less empathy for the sick? Do you find less beuty inart and music? Does your connections with your friends and family feel lessened in light of the knowledge that are lives are finite and the possibility that there is no afterlife? Does there have to be a grand plan for the universe for you to enjoy life?

  • I am not saying those things arent good and enjoyable, but that does not mean they aren't ultimately pointless (which kind of kills any trascendent joy tbh). If it's meaningless, if your life has no purpose (you are but the product of matter/energy and chance) then that kind of makes the whole process moot, does it not?

Question: Is any amount of life worth an ounce of suffering (if indeed death is an infinite end, as you say)?

  • To address your first point, yes on the grand scheme of things all we do is pointless because we as a species will one day die out, one day inn the far flung future the sun will enter its dying stage and take our planet with it whether we're still around or not. Second, we are no the product of chance. We are the product of evolution, which is not run by mere chance. As to your question, I believe life is it's own reward, and I believe we should do all we can to alleviate any suffering.

  • purpose? without God? bull crap. i mean, we didnt create ourselves, so we have no way of truly knowing what our real purpose is. we really only have one option..look to the one who created us.

  • Right on!

  • God is working through this man!

  • This is great stuff. Behave like we believe!

  • 1st view! Yeah
