Well if it is all meaningless, how does that change your life? Do you feel less empathy for the sick? Do you find less beuty inart and music? Does your connections with your friends and family feel lessened in light of the knowledge that are lives are finite and the possibility that there is no afterlife? Does there have to be a grand plan for the universe for you to enjoy life?
I am not saying those things arent good and enjoyable, but that does not mean they aren't ultimately pointless (which kind of kills any trascendent joy tbh). To address your first point, yes on the grand scheme of things all we do is pointless because we as a species will one day die out, one day inn the far flung future the sun will enter its dying stage and take our planet with it whether we're still around or not. Second, we are no the product of chance. We are the product of evolution, which is not run by mere chance. As to your question, I believe life is it's own reward, and I believe we should do all we can to alleviate any suffering.
