  • TP is the best!

  • Damn all the greats are dying, we might as well enjoy all these wonderful voices because there will never be any one else like them.Who sing like this now a days? No one in my book!

  • It's a shame, the music had to die. I miss it. '50s, '60s and '70s were the best.

  • This version of "if you don't know me" is SO much better than the garbage Simply Red version.

  • @lunarblur that's certainly true - thank goodness they eventually faded away

  • A quarter of a million views since I posted this a little over a year ago. Thanks to all those who acknowledge Teddy Bear's incredible talent. As I said when I first saw this on TV maybe 1979 or 80 all I could say was WTF!. Thanks again Teddy.

  • Teddy personified everything that was good for black folks in the 70's. His music was instant happiness in very trying times. It was a release, if only temporary. His legend will last forever.

  • 1974 really was a great year because Teddy was living in it .

  • THIS IS MUSIC!

  • Love me some Teddy!!

  • born in the sixtys but i just relate to these oldies

  • After TP died, I purchased the DVD of his show in Vegas. Let me tell you, it was the best DVD I have ever purchased. I love watching the BlueNotes Medley because I didn't realize he was a drummer and a good one at that. I grew up listening to all of his hits in the 70s but never saw him perform. What a charismatic performer!

  • What a man!!! What a man!! What a man!!!!! Raw tallent. Young performers of "today" take notes. Please take notes!!!!!

  • Man if you don't have a "Best of Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes" cd you need to get one. Thanks Snoop for turning me on.

  • Teddy was the personification of testosterone.

  • @cmiller928 Ohhhh you are so right they don't make men like that anymore!

  • you were the man!! R.I.P. TEDDY!!

  • I'm sorry but I had no idea that the late Teddy Pedergrass could not dance. But you know it didn't matter cause he coud sing his ass off.

  • I agree but according to Leon Huff"

"Doing the first Bluenote album (Teddy was their drummer) we wrote “I Miss You,” 1 day Teddy was messing around in the background singing. When I heard that big booming baritone voice roll out of the background I said Gamble, ‘Listen to that voice, that voice is powerful.’ I think during that time Gamble was talking to Harold about having another singer other than himself, a powerful singer who could sing those uptempo songs and dance. And Teddy was perfect"

  • @zasu442 You so mean (teehee) Don't be talking bad about my baby daddy.

  • @icanundrstndit He dance alright to me,he was feeling the music.

  • Dang I Miss You Teddy Bear!!!

  • love it soooooooooooo....

  • An absolute classic song that brings back those, Mmmm memories!!;)

  • Man oh man, he was truly at the top of his game then. He had it all: a great body, a great voice and incredible sex appeal.

What a loss. I know now that he is singing with the angels. May God rest his soul.

He suffered alot after the tragic accident, but he never lost his will to continue on doing what he did best.

    RIP sweet sweet Teddy P

  • Oh, man, Teddy Pendergrass in the prime of his life - what a vibrant sexy man!

  • greatest song ever by teddy...rip

  • Although I was not a great Teddy Pendergass fan back in the seventies, I loved a couple of his smooth soulful songs (especially "If You Don't Know Me By Now") and being exactly the same age, I really feel his passing. He was a class performer. R.I.P.
