hey, great video :) I have a 1 year old Bullmastiff who is learning agility, but sometimes she shys at the jump, or tries to run around it. I know she can do it because I have seen her jump over my rottweiler! SHe can jump about 1ft high, sometimes higher, and about 1ft long. Any tips on how I can get her to come over the jump every time? ALso, she wont jump unless I am holding her leash, and jump with her, how to I teach her that she can do it herself? :) Thanks

@reininghorses57 Well, I don't know why she is not jumping if she can jump. I had a similar thing happen with my husky mix when she was doing agility. I knew she could jump, but she kept going under and around the jumps (however she had already been doing agility trials at this point) and I found out that her back was out of whack. I took her to a chiropractor and did acupuncture on her and she got better and did agility again, but not compete. Maybe your dogs back is out. Just a thought.

@pamelamarxsen thanks for the tip! I figured out the problem this morning, while we were practicing. She only shys because she has lost her stride or needs to go faster before she can jump it. She did an amazing jump this morning, 2 ft. long and 10 inches high! I am so proud of her. It seems that agility helps with her obidience, and it also helps because she has so much energy!

Hiya, i have a 8month old cocker spaniel!! He can jump twice the size of himself easily. He can get bored easy though, any tips??(:Xxx

@ilovemypony7 Keep training sessions short and end before he has lost interest. Eventually you can increase the amount of time you train. You can do multiple SMALL training sessions in one day. Keep the activity worth working for. :) Use high value rewards. Hope that helps! Have a wonderful holiday! :)

My 2 and a half year old chihuahua and I have been practicing agilty for the first time! :) She's seems extremly good at it , but shes never in the mood to do it....she'd rather lay down in her bed :( Do you have any tips for me? Thanks! :) P.S Love the video! Cute dog!

@SieraBeagan1 Take advantage of the times she is up and willing. Maybe keep training sessions short with a lot of breaks. Use high value rewards. HMMMM get a border collie, just kidding. I know what you mean and how frustrated you are. My husky mix (Isabelle) could be great at agility, but she just does not want to do it most of the time. She is now a therapy dog and is allowed to just be a dog while my Border Collies are my agility/canine freestyle athletes. :) Hang in there!

@pamelamarxsen Hey I am a 12 y/o girl named Lacie just started teaching my sisters dog Zach a Border Collie Australian Shepard cross to jump some pine straw bales the other day he just started jumping around and kinda jumped it so I said over then I gave a treat haha I was in the middle of a training session and he got and idea I guess but he just jumped 2 stacked today now I say over he jumps anything haha then I looked up some vids to late haha

Great video.:D I have a 9 month old GSD/Boxer mix and he's good at jump wraps when I'm close to him, but when i start adding distance he knocks over the jump standards by turning to tightly and close to them.

@JumperJellyBeansX Have you had his back checked? My one dog Isabelle did that a few times and her back was out. After a few visits at the chiropractor she was back to jumping over no problem. However, I do not compete with her anymore, so she jumps a lot lower now than she had to in competition. The barrier idea would work as long as your dog is not jumping due to an injury. Get him check out first. Maybe it is just too painful to jump. Just a thought! :)

@suezn5 Thanks, I like trying to keep it short and sweet and to the point. :) I have a short attention span myself and can't seem to watch videos over 4 minutes. Maybe 5 if it is really interesting, but for me personally the shorter the better. :)
