I never really considered the Gunblade thing to be silly though. I mean, in Kingdom Hearts 2 Sora and Roxas wield giant keys that can slash people despite no sharp edges so I didn't let it bother me.

The whole 'gun' part of it was more decorative than functional as a weapon, It is suppossed to be a vibrating blade that inflicts more serious wounds- that's what the trigger does. Spoony's one of those people who needs EVERYTHING to be explained thoroughly to them though, so it's no surprise he wouldn't like it. And I don't think joining TGWTG was the only thing that ruined Spoony. It's just one of many factors...
