  • Hey everyone, Brake cleaning party at my garage! XD woooooot!

  • LOL. must have sounded GREAT. ... Did you laugh in the guys face I hope. LOL

  • Loving the Ron Paul 2012 poster in the back!

  • @MisterModder123 Right on!

  • Hi Brian,

The two metal springs that keep the pads apart from the rotor are missing.

There are two holes in each pad. One in each end.

  • @Lasselkv28 Yep. They lost them. I'm ok with that. Next time.

  • now i have seen every thing that people that no nothing about cars try tosay them self money on fix their own cars some people i think should not work on their own cars

  • I hear the stromae song, but also hear another one what is that (the one you sing to at the end)? Or am I not listening correctly?

  • Dude this is the weirdest thing I ever see, how the hell he did that !!! He should be glad to get fixed ....thumps up buddy

  • that thud thud thud music would drive me nuts to the point I would whack that disco ball like a pinata with a crow bar

  • I love how you got the disco ball and music rocking in the back ground during auto repair. I can still hear you clearly. Good job.

  • i have never heard of putting in pads backwards, does this guy have poo for brains?

  • Ah...the relaxing ballads of briansmobile1. Keep up the good work Brian!

  • @tbishop50 Thank you my friend ; )

  • how the hell do you put a break pad on backwards ?!?! lol

  • Can you do a video on machining the rotors? Thank you

  • Great Vocals!

  • @srissy007 Careful now. I might sing more ; )

  • Gotta love a mechanic rave!! Lmao

  • What the heck are you listening to? LOL

  • can anyone tell me what song is playing at 3:10?

  • @smokey1858

its a french song : Stromae - Alors on danse

  • To be honest I never glued the brakes, carful placement, clean everything and anti seize and never had any noise problems.

Hey you have great party! so cool! Keep the disco going

  • @elic123456 I agree, if you set it up right, all you need is anti-vibration compound. My shims have a thin tough integrated plastic backing, this stops any noise between the shim and the brake piston and gives a sure grip. The only time your brakes start making weird noises is when the rotors are on their way out or your pads are way too low, and that's what the little tab is for also on the shim to alert you to high pad wear as it contacts the rotor... squeeeel!

  • Rookie or not.. how could someone not know that brake pad was backwards? UNBELIEVABLE!!!

  • @greg197040 You're right. No excuses. The guy is an idiot.

  • @CoolasIce2 He felt bad. He's actually a really smart college educated professional type. Bless his heart.

  • @briansmobile1 Great. He should stick to college classroom material. Leave the greasy wrenches to people who know how to use them.

  • @CoolasIce2 "Stitch" on the other hand..... now HE WAS an idiot! lol

  • put his pad on backwords........ouch

  • unbelieveble

    anyway...

why does the piston has to be glued on to the shim? makes no sense to me :/

I just noticed that in my car the brakes bring no shims and it is the only one like that.. all the brake models of others chassis/engine versions have 1 or 2 shims on the piston side.

the OEM and original pads even bring some kind of soft paint that looks like a very hard rubber...

    Why is this?

  • @authmaax It's to prevent moisture and vibration from creating rust dust which causes brake pad chatter noise and screeching.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know which is worse the damage he did to the car or the embarrassment of doing something like that!

  • @kary1982v6 It's all good. Everybody makes mistakes. I respect the person who is willing to try.

  • @FuckTheNewWorldOrde1 Yep, and if your lucky from the mistakes of others.

  • h t t p://gopro.com/products/?gclid=CKaaucXx1qsCFYjBKgodUEtXPQ

^^ that's what you need for a camera! cheap, HD qualtiy, easy to use.

  • LOL. How can somebody be so stupid to install brake pads that way? Well, that happens. Great video. I like your humour! Have a nice weekend!

  • LOL i chuckled when i saw that brake pad on backwards

  • Cool, you've got your own brake lathe! Gotta like that. Is it versatile enough to use for other lathe-type jobs?

  • @spelunkerd I wish it was. I was thinking the same thing when I bought it.

  • Disco Brian!!!!!!!!!! Right on man, its great that you did not not make fun of the guy for trying to do his own stuff. I know I F'D up a lot of stuff trying to learn. I call tuition.

  • @TheNeal666 That's right man! There are certain things you just never make fun of. People getting out of their comfort zone to improve their skills is one of them.

  • let the glue cure first, so the shim doesnt stick on on a angle, also avoid wire wheeling the shims, brake dust isnt that good to breath, best of luck

  • @findtmoon good counsel for sure.- I've got stuff for that.

  • ive never seen that before

  • ive too seen brake jobs go out of stealerships like this.......get off the phone and pay attention to what ur doing......mistakes like this could cost a life

  • @backwoodsctryboy Steering is the biggest issue for danger- over torquing tie rods and fracturing them. With brakes you can aim for something cheap or non living. With steering loss you're hosed and by surprise.

  • I would encourage that customer to have his work done professionally, and give up the DIY thing, that's dangerous.

  • @binnsh I caught him up to speed. I've seen the same thing happen at a shop. He called me pretty quick to check his work.

  • So they put the inner brake pads backwards lol

  • @hp11208 yep

  • @hp11208 Im a DIY but never did that before lo

  • Mechanics work at a Disco????

  • @MELEGO351 Self employed ones do. ; )

  • disco ball, and is that regaton.... I hate regaton... but that still the coolest thing I've ever seen.

  • @freakofthewest

If you mean reggaeton, it's not. Can't hear it very well, but sounds more like merengue.

  • @boredmder both. Good ear man!

  • That music and those disco lights would distract me lol

  • @mazzmari I have an over active mind. The distraction helps me focus. I do well in that type of environment and under stress. I actually do better.

  • Ok, that's a first... lol..

  • No anti vibration band or pads when machining the rotor? I always get a better finish when I use one or the other.

  • @drm315 When I rough cut the the inner portion I don't bother- especially when juggling a camera. Those didn't come with my lathe. I ordered them and use them because they're important.

  • Lol... ITS A PARTY!!!!!!

  • @regnice01 YA!!!!!!

  • I really didn't know there were people that could get to the point of removing pads, and then insert them backwards... That's one win for Darwin...

  • Party hardy while working? Hahaha. Brian, you are the man!

  • @trunitemare To each their own.

  • I have one question....where do you get the black latex gloves from? I've looked everywhere local to me...even the summit store 2hrs north of me doesnt carry them. Great channel btet

  • @gski4life445 HF just started carrying them. They're also on the MAC truck and in tool magazines. I like the Nitrile Western Safety Extreme Heavy Duty Disposable Gloves that are 50 to a box.

  • sounds like you love to party while working... haha

  • @wolfpuss99 Helps keep me moving so I don't get distracted

  • camara glasses are what u need.

  • black eye or bad lighting?

and i have tool envy for your lathe.

  • @steve062989 Maybe a little of both?

  • @briansmobile1 ah ha.. i see.
