So is it possible to do very long commutes on these in reasonable time? How far could you get in two hours on one of these?

You don´t need a helmet when you use a recumbent bike?

I suppose a helmet always helps whatever you ride.

Recumbents position however makes the risk of head injury if you crash a lot lower than on normal bikes.

@Zallestial Reduces the risk. Is like when a Volvo rider decides not to wear the seat belt because he is driving one of the safest cars. Dude, excellent video, but be careful, I lost a friend of mine because he didn´t wear a helmet. Take care and good luck!

Ye as I said, helm always helps. :)

But its more important to drive safe and take care, just becuse you got a helmet on doesnt mean your invincible.

Or like this guy says, its more important to ride your bike instead of your car than to have a helm when riding your bike.
