  • I Love How music that is one year older then me, is truthful music. what happened to mainstream music? idk...maybe the result of what Living Coulor is trying to relate in this song.?

  • @melolyric02 It became more of a business, than an expression.

  • this is a great back from the 80's. do it matter that there black or white? Metal is Metal no matter what the race of the people are. and this is coming from a Black guy who loves Metal for the past 30 years.

  • Living Colour ... the original "Black Metal" band from the 80s =D

  • @disengagejam maybe but you can hear the Bad Brains influence throughtout their music. Although I think the tag "Soul Metal" fits them better. Calling them Black Metal confuses them with the satanic metal genre of the same name. Bad Brains started to go metal on I Against I in '86 so they predate Living Colour. Saw Fishbone once live, they were amazing.

  • i love black metal!

  • @fuglymidgets So the other stuff is white metal?

Damn I didnt knooow, this whole time rock was named by race :O

  • @xPrynce no just black metal, havnt you ever heard of black metal. Norway makes good black metal, strange cause i have never seen a black Norwegian

  • @fuglymidgets there's no such thing as a black Norwegian they're an urban legend

  • GOD i love them! As a matter of fact I love the clothes too. Im so dressing like the Corey Glover

  • Wil Calhoun has the best looking Drum kits. The Boss.

  • @logcabnnut- the sad thing is that some people are that stupid.

  • Vernon Reid was the most underrated guitarist , and he smokes most of the players today! love this shit :) and no racism I have a black gf and Im Sicilian

  • I'm not trying to be racist but i like this band because these are the only back people that made good rock and not that stupid shitty rap that I can't even understand!

  • @BlackDaedricKnight Agreed, rock is just so confined to white people for some reason, there's nothing stopping other races but for some reason they just don't do it. Not just black people either, I can only think of one Asian person, from Sum 41. Japan has a lot of rockers though, some of my faves e.g. 'ONE OK ROCK' and the bassist from 'Feeder'.

  • @BlackDaedricKnight

What about God Forbid, 24/7 Spyz, Sound Barrier & the fathers..

Bad Brains & Fishbone... I think they might take exception to non-inclusion.

    :-)

  • Great Riffs !

  • This was the first video I watched on MTV Europe after getting a Dish on my roof circa 1991 Great video Great band Great Song

  • this is one great rock band, me vote.

  • Great back then, but even better now... Way ahead of their time!

  • this band is awesome.

  • @Anlimema Well, I was going to attempt a funny, as it were, and say "how grateful?" But, Jesus, you suck. My God, how you suck. In fact, you are so bad that I suspect that this is a joke. If so, consider me well and truly zinged! If it's not a joke then, wow, I must say once again that you suck. P.S. Stop spamming random bands with your bullshit. Thank you.

  • why dont you 'black rock fans' like sevendust? or god forbid? or bury your dead? and all the other modern great rock/metal bands with black lead singers?

  • @travmoco Because God Forbid and Sevendust don't sound anything like Living Colour, perhaps? And also they happen to basically be fucking shite. Why would you expect fans of Living Colour to like those bands? And what the hell is a "black rock fan" anyway?

  • @travmoco or TV on the Radio if they want to go a little more indie?

  • Faith No More and this band have weird videos.

  • One of those great songs, that keeps your head moving. First time I saw them was on the ITV Chart Show, when they were played on the rock chart back in September 1990. They were probably the first all non-white rock band I ever saw and they have made some really great tracks as well !!

  • How many people think the early 90's has good music and the late 90's had mostly shit?

  • @LordSpleach Aggreed, big time

  • wow theres so many illuminati, freemason symbology in this video.

  • @Psychedelic925 Baphomet is that you? i never thought you would come out of hiding!

  • @gunsnhalen no

  • Grunge 90's

  • This is not a fuzzy feel good song. I understand the lyrics in it. But listening to it so many years later, gives me that rad nostalgic feeling for the 80s. People who mock the 80s never keep in mind that awesome bands like this were born (or excelled) during the 80s. Whenever I hear this band I also think of QueensRych, Faith No More... heck even STING's "All This Time." Such an awesome decade where music shined.

  • Who cares HOW someone came to discover this? I have liked LC since I was an 8th grader in '89, but I was elated when CM Punk started using Cult of Personality as his theme again. Nice to see a new generation of fans exposed to great music and a great band. Seriously, the elitist douchebaggery is totally played out...

  • I first saw these guys live at Alpine Valley Music Ampitheater when they were touring with The Rolling Stones in the 1980's. I instantly became a huge fan and was always blown away by how technically "tight" and proficient these guys were. Incredible drumming and extremely virtuosic guitar solos. Conscious lyrics too.....

  • This song is amazing! This band is AMAZING!

  • WHY DO THEY NO LONGER MAKE MUSIC LIKE THIS? The message is still surprisingly relevant. Visionary.

  • Ok, Let's recognize the fact that CM Punk have introduced this good music into the new generations who listen to Pop crappy music or emo garbage. For those who grew up listening to bands like Living Colour, I salute you.

  • @mansacachaita I love Living Colour. I also Love Muse... Credence Clearwater Revival, Black Veil Brides, Skrillex, and Guns n Roses... I like Katy Perry... and Buckethead... I apreciate all types of music... Pop Rock Emo Dubstep Electronic dance rave classical... It doesnt matter. music is music

  • @Feelthewobwobwob MUSE!!!!

  • @Feelthewobwobwob You know what I always answer when people ask me what music I listen to? "Good music". Because Im not chained by genre, just like you doesnt seem to be either. Peoples need to categorize themselves and others is just too great!

  • essa banda eh dimais cara

  • 4:11-5:43 epic..the bridge out of the last chorus,the outro..awesome 90's rock

  • It's hard to express just how awesome this song is. Their latest album rocks too.

  • GOOD GOOD SONG

  • like the starting dance

  • Something tells me that this is the band Tom Morello thinks of and imagines when he's performing on stage and writing in the studio.

  • @TheRiffMaker99 Those are two of the best bands ever.

  • sevendusts lajon's dad.

  • is this vernon reid or corey glover

  • @stateof90ass Reid = guitar, Glover = voice

  • Thumbs up if you have discovered this song in 2011 :D

  • @xNinoHHx No I discovered it in 325 B.C On my IStone ... -.-

  • Thankyou CM Punk! This music is quality!

  • "Everything that goes around... Comes around."

Like the "terrorist attack" from the "other side" of the World.

  • If only Fishbone had got this kind of recognition, great song though

  • I was a senior in high school when this song came out. Easily this was the song I remember and perhaps love the most from that year in my life

  • Anybody who does not dig this must be a f****n crack head

  • Fucking Great Band, dammitt!

  • Lmao Earth Cake.

  • Hmm i wonder if Living Color ever toured with Faith No More in the early 90s, their sound and style was quite similar back then.

  • @HelloFade2 If I remember correctly, they actually did. Also, Jane's Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers (before Warner Bros. and Rick Rubin) was similar to them as well.

  • SO MUCH LIKE FAITH NO MORE

  • @MikePattonFan24 -- very true ... i loved that funk metal rock style !!! They should've done a collaboration with Mike Patton =D

  • Fan of Rick Ashley? check 0.13

  • One dislike....Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME?!!!

  • FUCK OFF VEVO AND FUCK OFF PIXIE LOTT

  • Outro flashback maluco...

  • I live for music.. From Heavy Metal to rock and roll, from rock n roll to Orchesta's and symphonies, I live and love it all!

  • love the sound of the snare!

  • Vernon Reed the guitarist I mean.. lol

  • Veron Reed is the SHIT!!!

  • fuck song:))

  • Damn he can rock that white suit. He has good sayings,"everything that goes around, comes around."

  • :06 cool ass jig he does

  • I wore this cassette out during my senior year of high school!!!!

  • cm punk cm punk...stfu these guys were around before he was born. wrestling is for fucking losers

  • @johnnyrouke you shouldnt be cursin cm punk you should thank him for bringing more living colour fans...

  • @johnnyrouke Exactly. I'm a pretty damn big LC fan and have been for a good while. Next thing I know I see a bunch of CM Punk fags listening to them just because LC's most popular song is his song or whatever.

  • @MegaTallicaCovers Hey hey! I'm a CM Punk fan and I was aware of Clut of Personality before he used it as his entrance theme. I just haven't taken the time to listen to Living Colour's other stuff as I've been busy.

  • These guys give cool a new name; great music and image.

  • Nice Music

  • @justinmorris17 And cake.

  • this is an amazing song

  • When I first saw this band I trought... RASTA JAMAICAN MUSIC...

BUT NO! I love this Band and music!

  • We are the children of concrete and steel, that is one of the best lines in a song. Having once spent some time in a place without concrete and steel and street lights and air you could breathe in instead of chewing it first. I loved the dark nights where the stars are your friends and not something seen only on startrek.

But i am a child of concrete and steel, and I`m sorry i cant be anything else. Great song... i have to buy this song now (not on ichoons) i prefer real media Ebay here i come

  • Damn this still rocks twenty years later. Black people make everything cooler; says a cracker from Sweden. :)

  • 20 years later, and still noone has ever figured out what the hell the lyrics to this song are about

  • I guess I should thank CM Punk for introducing me to these guys, this is pretty good music.

  • Yeah, And Also his old one was pretty good It is called This Fire Burns by Killswitch Engage

  • @PhantomGhost25 TOTALLY AGREE!!

  • @PhantomGhost25 i agree cm punk introduced me to theese guy and they are awesome

  • @PhantomGhost25 EVERY SINGLE MUSIC VIDEO FROM THIS BAND HAS A COMMENT ABOUT CM PUNK!!!! WHAT IS CM PUNK ANYWAY!?!?!?

  • @1MIDSON CM Punk is a WWE wrestler. A few months ago he changed his music theme to Cult of Personality (another song by Living Colour).

    Now, please, calm down.

  • @manodoedgar Finally thanks lol

  • @1MIDSON its a wrestler from a show call WWE Raw

  • @PhantomGhost25 no shit, had no idea these guys fuckin rocked the house!

  • @Jexcee They were awesome like Faith More

  • I don't care if people wanna call me young or use the word kid in a derogatory manner for not already knowing about this amazing band, & just finding out about it because of CM Punk. But that's the way it was.

  • @Blueforce707 Who cares. Only nerds care about what sent you her. Enjoy the music! =)

  • @MrAlexB59 I am enjoying. Just something because I know people tend to get butthurt when a popular source introduces someone to great music. Saying they should've been listening to it the whole time.

  • Fuck you bitch assas1n1015. Go back to fucking your sister, john cougar listening, inbreed, banjo playing faggot.

  • @assas1n101 That have had more pussy than youll see in magazines.....

  • @assas1n101

these "niggers" have a lot more money than you

  • Fuckin GOOD!!!!!

    I love these guys!!

  • last time I saw this video, I was 17 with hair on my head

  • @vanillascy C'mon Man,Living Color is way better than Aerosmith. ;D

  • Everything is possible, but nothing is real....holy shit

  • dat dance at the beginning *.*

  • lol they're like the black version of aerosmith

  • @vanillascy except that LC are about 10x more talented, original, fierce,etc...sorry, but it's true

  • Most guitarists at the time were pushing structure and tone with their solos, and then this guy came along and was playing almost in an abstract jazz style. At first, like probably most others, I was like "wtf is this s***", but after seeing some home video footage of Reid jamming on some heavy jazz stuff, it began to make sense to me why his style was what it was. Definitely was a different take on guitar leads, and it gave him a recognizable style, good or bad.

  • so good gotta say so GGOODDAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!

  • Everyone of these guys in "Living Colour" ROCKS!

  • This band is a great icon of the 90's. You gotta fucking love them. Hail the 90's and 80's too :)

  • we are the children of concrete and steel.

  • Great lyrics, voices, musicianship, stage presence one of the greatest bands I've seen to date and I was born in '66.

  • I saw them live in Jax FLA. opening for THE STONES in the gator bowl, great show indeed. They blew the STONES away in my opinion and many many others although they played in daylight. Vernon is one of guitars most creative in a long time, he was first to develope that style and is being improved on till today.

  • Epic dance in the beginning.

  • nice pants on the bassist

  • F'n brilliant music and video.

  • Great song, great video. Remember when this 1st came out, One of the best bands to come out the late 80's-early 90's.

  • Truly awesome music transcends racial boundaries. Living Colour make me want to get naked and helicopter...

  • Holy Shit, they are so baddass!

I have been a fan forever...I was fortunate to see them live twice in Vegas.

They absolutely had a look, a sound and a style no band has had since.

But most important...they had substance....in abundance!

Cory is one of the best Rock vocalists I have ever heard...and Vernon...OMG

There are no words to describe him...hmmm, maybe genius?

It is a such a shame that the black community...with all of it's talent...can't make good music. Rap sucks so bad....

  • this song is what so many rock songs today and all music in general are missing nowadays; soul

  • This song is a masterpiece!

  • @zorbazoo Well said....you are absolutely correct.

I listen to this...and I am still blown away!

  • Horray for Vernon Reid.

  • great band, great music, these guys were ahead of their time, simple as that!

  • @Robbinyoazz ..Absofuckinlutley!! That they were, I LOVED this song when I was a kid, and I still love it today! At the time they came out, they where sooo different (in their own right) and Blew me away! They still do to this day!!!

  • These guys are fantastic ^_^

  • is a whitey diggin' dis shit! \m/

  • awesome

  • I don't care what color they are. They are and will always be AMAZING!!!!!

  • Kickass band with excellent music and so real and meaningful lyrics yeah

  • Outstanding! One of my favorite, heady, genre-crossing bands. The video is complimentary. They rock!

  • One of the best songs from the era. I know a lot of people didn't take this band as seriously because the sound seemed to blend into the mix of hair bands instead of grunge and it appeared to be an old sound, but listen to the guitar work, great changes, rhythm, transitions but not overwhelming, very complimentary...and a nice blending with the bass work as well. And smart lyrics too, which is rarer for that brief era and sound. Almost a zen feel to the song...one of my all time favs.

  • one of the best bands ever!

  • So fuckin' good! A great 90's rock band!

  • gee, what subtle symbolism

  • love that riff

  • Clicked on to this site for a Living Colour video and got a crappry commercial instead. That sucks!!!!

  • @MrBillydoo AdBlock Plus for Firefox is your friend :3

  • Been jammin on these guys for years......46 yrs old...need more like it! Love it! Prophets of music & secular life..... always... Love Glover....right on man....awesome.

  • Been jammin on these guys for years......46 yrs old...need more like it! Love it!

  • One of the greatest, unstoppable guitar riffs of all time! Of all time, I say!

  • Comment removed

  • "Everything is possible, but nothing is real". True words

  • fucking large awesome band

  • I love this band. (I'm not from this planet.)

  • my RESPECT living colour fromm brazil

  • Vernon Reid, what a great fucking guitarist.

  • @xxrockon83 Not so great about soloing section but i like very much his great rhythm sense and groove. That's my opinion, anyhow great band and great musicians.

  • @MCmarcioman True. The solo could be better but he does have a good sense of riffing and rhythm.

  • I love this band. (im white)

  • This band was so very special...Corey Glover, Verno Reid, Muzz Skilling & Will Calhoun. LIVING COLOUR was the best!

  • I still love these guys after all these years!

  • It's not coincidence that you still see so many songs from the 80's and 90's being played. Not just because the older audience is still around but because today's "Music" is a joke.

Songs used to have meaning, now it's just sound. If you don't believe me listen to the lyrics.

  • Not to be racist against myself, but it's weird that these brothasfe had to show everybody else how to not look gay... literally. They had (or have) colors, but no makeup, lipstick, feminine posing, and shit. Even KISS went from black leathers with blood from their mouths to glam. WTF?
