When you're a Soldier, you stick with what you signed up to do, not for a free ride on tricare, a paycheck, empty patriotism, or your thoughts on why wars should or shouldn't be fought. If that were the case, then be a pot smoking hippy and hide out under a rock.
Although I do believe a nation should take care of its veterans, I'm a veteran of the War on Terrorism and Iraq War. My opinion is that they shouldn't come home and trash talk a war after they've been injured or gotten out.
@SuperStormfront So they should come home and shut their mouths like the rest of Amerca is told to do on a daily basis? Meanwhile men who never saw the frontlines of any battle tell them to be good little robots and kill, no questions asked. That includes GWB, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz and Obama...What a concept!
I'm Brazilian guy and i ask me all the time way this people go to the war????? for what??? for nothing, way bush and others presidents dont get figth alone, way this countrys put others inocent people for figth?? no rigth this.
Action movies are much different that real life action (war). Those soldiers thought that they are going to vacation, and everything will finish faster than they can image. Poor people. Did they just realize that war is war no matter how much technology you have? Too late. Damage is done, and history is the witness.
People think by coming Obama to the White House, everything will change. One thing I know is that no matter who ever is the president of the United States, that person must follow one policy which is kill, destroy, steal, and claim role model. The logic is: Did Iraq attack the U.S. No. How many civilians were killed by the U.S in Iraq and Afghanistan? Too many. Now why Americans wonder that others hate them. Simply, due to many mistakes that the U.S goverment made and still making.
If Obama had attempted to "stop the war" he would have joined the Kennedy's in the annals of history as yet another victim of the ppl that decide what happens at national and international levels. It doesn't serve our cause to fight amongst ourselves or call each other names and do nothing. The two party system is a lie and a sham and it is designed to make you think you have some say in the electoral process. PLEASE see past it and wake up! Your loved ones lives depend on it!
I do not hate anyone because simply there is not reason fot it. However, it makes me angry when someone people claim they are doing something good while they are taugh how to kill innocent people and destroy villages because simply they are muslims. To Keithonyoung34, insult me as you wish and I thank you always for that, but be certain if you continue the way your these days, you will be sorry for a day that does not help you being sorry for your past. what did people learn from it? This is what happens to anyone tries to against muslims and Islam because Islam is the only true faith can guide human beings to the right road. And to think that the disgraceful, transexual coke head Ann Coulter could attack one disabled Vietnam vet by saying "...you were the reaosn we lost the war." We are losing another generation of young people to the folly of lies. We need to heed Pope Paul the 6th words from 1965 when he said at the UN, "No more War! Never again, war!."
Where is this soldier now? I undestand that in May 2008 he was in a coma. I was in Iraq in 2004. I trained the ICDC etc. War is simply a bad place to be. I was also in New York and I was in the Hot Zone for twelve days. My opinion is that we allowed many US soldiers to die for the wrong reasons. Our CIA and covert mission could have taken down Saddam much easier and the death toll on both sides could have been much less. There are many reasons for not sending our soldiers to war
just think of the billions of dollars that could have been invested in our children, education health not to mention work for millions reinforcing the bridges roads alternative forms of energy research etc in this country.
We probably would not be experiencing this kind of recession if we had not gone into this war with Iraq.
Hopefully with the democrats in the white house we will be able to take proper care of the soldiers returning from the wars.
Could Iraq be part of a long tradition of wars based on lies? The Gulf of Tonkin was a forgery, FDR cornered the Japanese into firing the first shot, Wilson knew full well that the Lusitania could be attacked...
Could the real problem with Iraq be that unless "we the people" figure the common thread between these wars, "we" will be in the street again in 30 years because "we" were tricked into another needless war?
I guess paranoia isn't the right word to use. But I don't think that its valid to justify the war by saying that "all of the limbs and lives given so far would be for jack s**t." If that's our state of mind, we're essentially doomed, because such an argument is based on the assumption that damage inflicted JUSTIFIES continuing to inflict such damage.... If that makes sense.
FYI, I have nothing against you as an individual, and especially not because you fought the war.
Never feel alone when you are doing the right thing. Every righteous member of the human race is at your side in spirit. May your cause always be just, may your hands always be swift, and may the deliverance of your righteous action be wholly and warmly accepted by those in need.
You are the silly one. so you are saying that more mother's babies should die and play their role for their country so that all the''limbs and lives given'' wouldn't be for nothing.. yes so smart! two wrongs don't make a right
NOTE: Tomas Young's struggle continues day by day. In late May 2008, he fell into a coma brought on by a clot in his lung. His mother, Cathy, tells us they are working to keep him awake and talking a few hours every day.
Ron Paul,Phil Donahue, Alex Jones and Jessie Ventura need to link up with George Galloway and Tony Benn in the U.K. Even the Queen of England said,"there are dark forces in this world"..e.g see Death of Diana or Loose Change
as long as we dont prop up evil dictators, supply them with chemical weapons, and starve his people with sanctions, there wont possibly be slaughter like there was a while back....
... and if we stay there will be slaughter like whats going on now....
So where does the right wing come down on Thomas and his message? Is he unpatriotic? Where are the Hannitys, O'Reillys and Limbaughs of the world? I would love to hear them criticize this man the same way they did to Cindy Sheehan. And with a brother still over there? This man deserves all the support in the world. if you go to war, and against your will the country goes to war, then you vote to fund it...why? cause you simply CANNOT vote not to fund the troops...
You need to look at where his major funding comes from and who works for him and will become members of his administration if he becomes president. None of the top tiers are any good.
Same to you greyblueyes! LOL, I think you need to look at all of the information before making such comments. Some self deprecation is in order to cure yourself of rabid self defacation! "Hindsight is 20/20", turn that mirror round on yourself. I don't want to offend the mentally challenged by comparing you to them as you did to me, so I'll just say you're clueless.
Obama recently took his name off the ballot for supporting a timetable for the troops to come out of Iraq. Y would he do that. He also voted 4 the patriot act and the expansion of the patriot act.
I am a retired special Forces Operator who has seen much death and suffering in my twenty plus years of service, and I was very moved be this young disabled warrior Thomas Young. I am so angry at the cowards in high office that have sent our brave soldiers to bleed and die for such a ungodly cause.
I was a hippie in the 70's and saw what these USA and war hater did to the men that came home so now they don't hate them its all about money and selling the USA out becareful
Saw the segment Bill Moyers did on this. Sounds like the filmmakers did an amazing job. Thomas is very courageous and inspiring. I really want to see the whole film now.
When haven't young men, and now women, been used as "cannon fodder" to fight the fights of cowards and whimps like Cheney, Hussein, Putin, Queen Elizabeth and all the others like them throughout history? Will it ever stop? Track record isn't so good.
Is peace possible? Personally, yes. Globally, I doubt it. Still, we can try.
as a former combat medic in viet nam this is hard but real stuff and evokes some bad memories. those that haven't seen the horror our country's policies inflict have no voice in this fight. we need to end this war now thomas you are a hero. keep up the struggle and bring the troops home now
I saw the documentary last night and was very moved by the story. The message makes clear the true price of war. It could have shoved the truth down your throat but instead eases the viewer into the reality of the situation with a slice of life portrayal of an honorable soldier. It gives a human face to what the American public is disconnected from in the Iraq "war". Thank you Tomas for your service and for honest bravery. You rock! Keep on rollin'!
My brother is over there. Read my review of Ben Harper's Both Sides of the Gun on Itunes. Tom is proud that I am arguing that we do the right thing over there. We owe Iraq a rebuilding, and we owe them peace.
WATCH (Springsteen): watch?v=yApAg0hl490 If you love this land of the free Bring 'em home, bring 'em home Bring them back from overseas Bring 'em home, bring 'em home Now we'll give no more brave young lives Bring 'em home, bring 'em home For the gleam in some fool's eyes Bring 'em home, bring 'em home The church bells will ring with joy Bring 'em home, bring 'em home To welcome our darlin' girls and boys Bring 'em home, bring 'em home

im not from the us...i'm just a political junkie.

You need to look at where his major funding comes from and who works for him and will become members of his administration if he becomes president. None of the top tiers are any good.

Gee, I would sure love to hear what you have to say now, hindsight is 20/20. It must suck for you being a retard.

Obama belongs to the same think tanks as the clintons and bushs. Other side of the same coin.

I am a retired special Forces Operator who has seen much death and suffering in my twenty plus years of service, and I was very moved be this young disabled warrior Thomas Young. I am so angry at the cowards in high office that have sent our brave soldiers to bleed and die for such a ungodly cause.

I will see this movie, but will the close minded bush-war lovin blind people see it?

My brother is over there. Read my review of Ben Harper's Both Sides of the Gun on Itunes. Tom is proud that I am arguing that we do the right thing over there. We owe Iraq a rebuilding, and we owe them peace.
