  • This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It's a masterprice. Both the melody and the lyrics are so simple but they transmit a beautiful message. This song expresses what all of us desire--A place where troubles melt like lemon drops and all the dreams come true. This song gives me hope and makes me dream of better days, I have it in my heart wherever i go.

  • Somewhere in Battlefield 3, jets fly! Why then, oh why can't they in COD?

  • seeing this video makes me not believe she's 90.

  • @Izybellaz She would've been 90 this year is what was meant - she was 17 at the time she was in this!

  • This song is so relaxing...

  • She Sings pretty

  • Hopefully one day we will see Judy Garland 'over the rainbow'.

  • Beautiful

  • LOL salad fingers

  • I love this song, I'm singing it for an audition early March, and for the Wizard of Oz production in the local community theater! Wish me luck!

  • This was my favorite movie when I was little! Dorothy was my idol. I remember watching the movie and singing along to Over the Rainbow. Ah, memories :)

  • Hi everyone :) i am at university studying graphic design and i have chosen to do a brief on the wizard of oz. I am going to be producing typographical posters to bring back this classic film and give it life once again so that people want to watch the film. It would be a great help to get some feedback on what people remember about this classic film or any other thoughts would be much appreciated :) thanks Hayley. If you could PM me that would be even better.

  • I'm using this song for an audition I'm doing. Boy, I have some large shoes to fill...

  • I wonder if she ever realized, at the time she recorded this song, that she was making a historic and world class hit that would remain forever....

  • I like this song. Judy Garland had a great voice. She was really pretty too.

  • what they told her she was ugly?!??!?! she looks like a porcelain doll!!!

  • I <3 this song!

  • No matter what music has come before or after, I still think that this song somehow connects with people deep down- moving them to tears.

In my opinion, this song has a very valid and real claim to be one of the greatest works of music ever.

  • i watched this for the first time yesterday and when she sung "skys are blue" i thought "yeah right, this movie's black and white. how ironic."

when she reached Oz i was like "fuuuu-"

  • like

  • Thumbs up for Toto !

  • una bella canción

  • Preciosa canción y una bella actriz.

  • awww that doggy looks so cute! : )

  • I always gawk at the fact that studio execs told her she wasn't attractive. Hello! Look at her. She was gorgeous, and her voice is absolutely beautiful. I wish for more singers like Judy. Happy 90th Birthday Judy 6/10/2012.

  • @sobelladulce Judy was gorgeous she was breathtakingly beautiful its a shame that she is not to this day considered one of the top classic movies beauties of all time ,like Grace Kelly or Liz Taylor,Audrey Hepburn,Marilyn Monroe .....but in Meet me in St.Louis and The Wizard Of Oz ,Judy was so beautiful and feminine just like Lucille Ball who was so beautiful but unfortunately due to being funny she is not known as being a classic beauty. P.S. Judy had the most beautiful doe eyes as does ...

  • @sobelladulce ....... as does her daughter Liza Minnelli big beautiful doe eyes.

  • @sobelladulce what? what were they talking about? she was so pretty, lucky.

  • Beautiful song, but I like Israel Kamakawiwo version.

  • This is why we were number one before

    Before brittney :(

  • Timeless!

  • Wow. This is amazing. I love it.

For some reason, I get sad when I listen to this, though this may be a result of a tottaly unrelated movie using this song *cough*9*cough*.

Overall this is a great song, very haunting and beautiful.

  • Just look at that puppy and think about the fact that it lived about 75 years before the very moment you're watching this video. Isn't it amazing! Knowing that even it's bones do not exist nowadays and you can still see it wave it's cute paws!

  • man look at the turn america has taken. epic song

  • talent. take that, disney channel.

  • @xMidnight100x shut da hell up bitch!!!!!!!

  • @kissable6052 i can tell how mature you are by your excessive exclamation marks and advanced spelling.

now give me a talented disney channel actor.

  • Amazing. Best version!!!! Still get chills every time I hear it.

  • y la película, un encanto

  • que canción tan fantástica.

  • Love the relaxing songs...

  • Love it!

  • Could you believe Betty White whose B day is coming up really soon she was 6 months older than Judy could you BELEIVE IT. wow I wonder if they ever met back in the day cause Betty was a singer and a dancer and actress like Judy.

  • judy is amazing. i cant bielieve that 118 people dont let music touch their heart, and they forget that after a song you remember the artist and song, and music is meant to make you happy. 8,131 people get it and remember why this is a classic. others might be jealous and think that she shit but listen. shes not suddenly the queen but shes just talented. i know that im just talking to 118 people but if you hate her get off her videos.

  • beautiful

  • One of the best songs <3

  • I heard that Dorothy's shoes were actually silver in the original story - they were changed for the film to make them stand out. With it being only the second film to be made in Technicolor, some colours were easier to render than others - it took over a week to come up with a shade of yellow for the Yellow Brick Road that didn't look green on camera!

  • @Inkyminkyzizwoz The first technicolour film was gone with the wind?

  • @DebsTasha45 I was wondering that - it did come out the same year, so probably

  • @Inkyminkyzizwoz Also, I think that up to the point where she lands in Oz, technicolour just came out. The affect looks STUNNING where in Kansas it's dull and boring, nothing is happening. But in Oz, the colour just bursts out.

  • i neeeeeeeeed to load the movie

  • The dog are cute:)

  • we're doing this for chorus ad with the arangement ther's stuff at the begining. >:P

  • is it my imagination, or Judy Garland bears a faint resemblance with georgie Henley?

After alL, I just love this song! :3 it emanates simplicity, beauty and feeling! <3

  • @AnnieMariiam Yes the doe eyes the girl from narnia and like Judy was in a fantasy famous film but Georgie reminds me of Katie Holmes too , um now is it my imagination (dont hate on me youtube users) but I know this sounds weird but because of her big brown sad doe eyes Britney Spears looks like Judy and her daughter Liza Minnelli right? or is it just me the resemblance between Britney and Judy anyone else.

  • i love this song my mom us to sing it to me when i was a little girl.

  • This is my childhood.

  • @gobstopit So? The reason she did is because during the making of this movie the producers made her get addicted to drugs. And just because someone does drugs doesn't make them a bad person. Have some respect.

  • I freakin' LOVE this movie . <3

    I freakin' LOVE thihs song , too . :D

  • JUDY JUDY JUDY WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I love love love you JUDY GARLAND

  • Luv it

  • perfect.

  • das original und die beste version

  • Beautiful song, beautiful Judy.

  • My favorite movie of all times

  • Apparently, on the day she died there really was a tornado in Kansas - how ironic!

  • You know the world gone crazy when you type in 'some' for somewhere... and someone like you comes up!

  • Type in "Ariana Grande impersonating some of my favorite artist" go towards the end of the video. There you'll see Judy Garland Lives!:)

  • This song was almost cut because the director thought it slowed the movie down.

  • So..?

  • Galvanize and Occupy Over The Rainbow ! Ron Paul for President 2012.

  • so sad...this movie is where her drug problems started. damn producers giving her sleeping pills

  • @manly427 Unfortunately it started even before the Wizard of Oz. Her mother was giving her amphetamines once she started working at MGM in 1936 and barbiturates to put her to sleep. The combination of the two plus the alcohol would stay with her until the day she died. In all fairness though, no one knew that they were the equivalent of what meth is today. If they knew, they most likely would've never given them to her.

  • Judy was just 17 here, can you really compare this with Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus?

  • @Inkyminkyzizwoz Agreed. They don't make them like her anymore.

  • Love this with all my heart. So lovely.

  • i remember watching this in elementary school, when i was in kindergarden. it was in music class, and when i went home, i would go into the bathroom and act out the scene, play the song and sing along. ♥

  • E agora o original

  • best song ever written <3 i cry every time i hear it

  • Wait Judy Garland Plays Dorthy In The MOVIE?

  • You can hear a pin drop every time she sings this. It's so beautiful, and echoes in our hearts. That's why we love the wizard of oz, because of Judy, and her incredible performance.

  • @DebsTasha45 hey! dont u tell me wat to do! or tell me wat it does to my heart! =P

  • @okalani1992 You have to admit it though, it does..

  • In ten years time on the 10th June, Judy Garland would have been 100. Watch this video as respect to Judy.

  • A real classic!!

See me singing this by clicking my name....i'm only 11! :-)

  • thumbs up if u r here cuz of the australia movie

  • confused, my computer got crashed over the site,

don't know what to think nor do,

so, just leave it as it is

since absolutely don't know what's what whatsoever

  • I beautiful performance from a more civilized age.

  • @OneTalkerOne yeah, a more civilized age, when women knew their place and segregation and open legal discrimination against black people was encouraged. SO CIVILIZED. Today the kids just listen to their Justin Beibers and Lady GooGoos and watch their Hannah Wyomings. HOW UNCIVILIZED

  • @HighlyMeh Spoken like a typical victim of the public schools. Most public schools teach a neo-marxist false deconstruction of American history and culture. While there are always problems in every society, America was making progress on those problems. Since you wanted to pull the "black" card. Black American's back then had low illegitimacy rates, high marriage rates, high church attendance, better graduation rates, low prison rates, low illiteracy rates, and the list goes on.

  • @OneTalkerOne I went to public school for a total of one year, unless you count college. But that's totally irrelevant. What's relevant here is that de facto slavery and segregation are a-okay as long as people go to church and get married, apparently. And yeah, I'm sorry I pulled the "black card" and brought up the fact that until disturbingly recently in American history, most of our society treated African Americans as sub-human. Have some statistics to back up those claims?

  • @HighlyMeh The low illiteracy rates claim is quite obvious BS, probably the crime rate claim too. Maybe there's some statistical truth to it somewhere, but it's still pretty much irrelevant when you consider the fact that our legal system still viewed black people as unequal, and many were still bound in near slavery (see Slavery by Another Name by Douglas Blackmon). Maybe graduation rates WERE higher, seeing as how many African Americans weren't able to attend school or even allowed.

  • @HighlyMeh . I'm sorry I brought up the "woman" card now too. I'm sure they were better treated in the 30's as well. Something to do with our neo-marxist public school system, I'm sure. I suppose back then society had it's problems but the good folks were trying their darnest to make society better, but today everyone is just spoiled and selfish and society is going to shit because kids aren't interested in going to church anymore, right?

  • @HighlyMeh You did not go to private school like you said. I used to teach home schoolers and many private schools use the same cirriculum that home schoolers do. The narrative you are describing is exactly the kind of half-informed deconstructionist narrative that is typical in unionized public schools.

As far as to back up the claims, if you were private schooled you would know about the Moynihan Report, but it is obvious that you dont. Happy New Year. Try 2 read outside of your narrative :)

  • @OneTalkerOne Haha, I lied to a stranger on the internet about my schooling history so he wouldn't think I've been brainwashed by the "neo-marxist" public school system. You caught me. And no, I hadn't heard of the Moynihan Report (aka "The Negro Family: The Case For National Action"), but after some quick research I can see why: it's little more than racist propaganda that was released in 1965 (how up to date!). I'm sure if I was homeschooled in the south I'd have known about it.

  • Yesterday I was in a nearby cafe and it was playing this wonderful song. Oh, Judy, how great you were!

Sweet coffee and music! Thaaanks!!! :)

  • The funny thing is Judy isn't really dead,in fact in most ways she will out live us all. She will always be that young and beautiful and all we will ever hear is that heavenly voice. That is true immortality.

  • How could this girl ever think she was ugly/untalented?

  • @joshscomputer You mean she did?

  • @Inkyminkyzizwoz Incredibly, yeah. She was told she had to lose weight to play Dorothy, and that was just the beginning.

  • @joshscomputer Well, that sort of low self-esteem is certainly a far cry from the over-inflated egos of many of today's 'stars'!

  • THIS VERSION IS BETTER THAN THE UGLY FAT's VERSION

  • @FuckMeBarbie The ugly fat's version?

  • Great song I love it!

  • SUPPORT THIS RAPPER HERE PLEASE GENEmusik - /user/GENEmusik . trust me yu wont regret it ! PLEASE

  • happy christmas all ,,,on the 23rd of december 2011, i went to see "the wizard of oz" in dublin with a live orchestra , i sat at the back hoping no one would see my tears , as judy sang, wonderful

  • Judy Garland is SO beautiful! Though I really do feel sorry for her when she died, I'll never forget her. I've watched Wizard of Oz only when I was younger so I should think about watching it again when I get the movie from Block Buster.

  • Aww, that is a beautiful song! Next time I get an iTunes Card, I should buy that song and put it on my iPod Touch!

  • How the hell does this have a single dislike let alone 108? Seriously?

  • 108 people haven't been over the rainbow

  • @QJXiong 108 people are under the rainbow.

  • I love this song and movie ><

  • If you google search best songs of the 20th Century, this song is ranked number 1

  • I used to watch this movie all the time when i was young, brings back so many memories. Reminds me how great the movie is.

  • 108 People are truly messed up. And 7,781 people are amazing.
