Diablo 3 just removed the dark goth scary originality of the game. They should just call this Diablo remake not Diablo 3. Yes I have played the beta. It feels like Torchlight + Diablo. Too much Warcraft influence, and not enough dark demented down to evil type of game. I'd rather have Skyrim's graphics on Diablo 3 than this toon style. It's a fun game, but if you are a Diablo fan don't expect too much from D3.

There is already a solution via a FXAA modifier with which you can adjust a more darker look. Seek: Skyrim FXAA Injector - it works the same.
@Nhordmyr Well I was being general about it. I didn't mean "just" as in recently, I explained it poorly. If they used the Dungeon Siege III graphics that would look a lot more like Diablo. What am saying it's not about the darkness it's the overall feeling of it. The game is good, but I expected more instead of a Torchlight copy with Diablo settings. But hey I'm buying it cause I'm a fan of the series, and Torchlight II since they are the original creators of Diablo. We will see :)

You played the Beta. Blizzard spend a lot of time on their games. You barely scratch the surface of the iceberg. It is way too early to tell if the game will be too easy.

I had fun playing through the beta. I know I will have a blast playing this game when it comes out like I did back in the day when D2 came out.
So normal is going to be very easy, but imo its not a big deal for hardcore gamers because they will fly through normal so fast and the first time they will be enjoying the story. After that they can twink their other characters to level up faster with awesome gear and gems (level 14 gems have required level 1!). For hardcore gamers, they added inferno, so we have to meet them halfway by making the early game easy for people who have never played to have an easier time.

@VoreTechz1985 o yes, there is MUCH strategy involved in the higher lvls. Normal is really easy, once you get through hell and above (i think the highest is inferno?). Even the mobs take a lot of strategy to beat and kill. Some mobs take about 5m to take down and lots of strategy involved instead of mindlessly killing mobs.

Act 1 on Normal is supposed to be easy...the easiest in the game, obviously. It's just there really so you get use to your character skills. It will get progressively harder. Online only is to prevent hacking & cheating. Didn't you play Diablo 2?

@VoreTechz1985 o yes, there is MUCH strategy involved in the higher lvls. Normal is really easy, once you get through hell and above (i think the highest is inferno?). Even the mobs take a lot of strategy to beat and kill. Some mobs take about 5m to take down and lots of strategy involved instead of mindlessly killing mobs.

If only they did ONE thing, i would be interested in buying it.
Remove the bloody health orbs, which just makes it too easy to enjoy. I mean it would be easy enough without it, maybe you'd use ONE potion per 30min. But with them, it is invincible mode.
Lets hope for a mod that changes it, oh wait it is perma-online, if you mod it you wont be able to play with other people. Amazing design decision Blizz, amazing.

what do you think of the Diablo 3 Beta Patch 5? Any significant changes in the game? Or the animations.. anything dealing with color effect or character changes of how they look. I'm in the D3 forums so any info that is spread i will see that day, i know the technical tweaks. I just don't know what or if they did change anything visually.

Act 1 on Normal is supposed to be easy...the easiest in the game, obviously. It's just there really so you get use to your character skills. It will get progressively harder. Online only is to prevent hacking & cheating. Didn't you play Diablo 2?
