i work at the welsh mountain zoo and every morning the female lar gibbon does this, all the other time of the day she just sits on her tod doing nothing where as the male follows staff up and down the cage and gets into a tantrum when we give the spider monkey more attention, kinda funny.
I had a dream about this last night. The lions escaped into my sisters back garden in Colwyn Bay..............there weren't any gibbons in it though. I'll get me coat.
What a bloody outrageous disgrace keeping them in cages like that. It's 2008 not 1888. Let them out and lock up the bastards that have got them in there.
@Kenaniahmce what's with the name calling? i'm just pointing out how sad it is to see a gibbon in captivity. ask ANY primatologist. when they're in captivity they still sing, but there is no meaning. it's like they're lost.
@Tarzan07330 I believe they are sad, and I would prefer they were free in their natural environment. Just drop the "there is no meaning." wankery. Take a bath hippie.

"there's no meaning" are not my words, they were spoken by atleast 3 different primatologists that i've either seen on a show or read about in a zoology book. and i'm not a hippie. good day.
