I updated my software with Sprint and now I can't root. Do I need to go through this again or is there something else I can do?

A few things to try is uninstalling HTC sync completely and re downloading it. Or go to your phone and goto menu/settings Applications/ Usb Debugging make sure it has a check hit the back key and check unknown sources. Try that

@rmitchell42091 I already ahd the usb/ debugging checked and unknown sources. I am reinstalling HTC Sync right now, but I just noticed that there was an app that says "super user" with a picture of an android with cross bones. I clicked the program and looked at the log section. It says Terminal Emulator "allowed." Does this mean i'm rooted?

@rmitchell42091 Ok so I figured it out! I didn't know you had to have the superuser app open to accept "allow." I was under the impression it would just pop up on the screen. Thank you for all your help! I am now rooted!

@rmitchell42091 ok im having a issue right after i typed adb in the command console. all the tool comands come down. everything before worked perfectly fine. the issue now is adb shell command keeps having an error: device not found . i've uninstalled HTC sync completely. installed it again. it had an error about a missing file but seems to work fine still. can you please help. this is my first root so im really new to this.

It said my device can not be found? Do I have to sync to HTC sync? cause my phone can't find it.

@kuyarobert Try this

make sure you dont have any antivirus or security running, just disable. Make sure you installed htc sync properly and that it finds your device your device. You can also check in administrative tools, computer management, Device manager, and look for your device.

@rmitchell42091 I am having the same problems. I am at the final step and I am getting "permission denied" after I type in the "su" code. I think it has something to do with my sync'ing and by the looks of it under device manager I see the driver Android and My HTC. I'm a novice at this stuff so any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

@lbirllain So when you look in device manager is there a yellow sign next to the phone name.

nothing happens after i press per root after doing the flashing in the last steps of the instructions any chance your doing a part 3 of the video

It will come up on your phone and ask you to allow or deny. Hit me back if you still have problems, i have a few more things you can try.

it will be the stock rom. This will give you super user permission so you can flash a custom rom.
