As the victims, the Leeds couple, awake in the darkness only to find themselves staring at The Tooth Fairy....the begining of this very underrated, dark film. Spooky, you can see Mrs. Leeds awake looking at the cam(the killers POV)...that intro scence made me piss in my pants the more I see it. I can hear this tune when I undergo a sleep paralysis episode at times. O-o
this was one of the first films that ever got truly under my skin. I still awake at night sometimes with these killer synth riffs whirling aorund my head. I loved the film, noone else has done the red dragon proud.
Too bloody underrated movie & soundtrack. This shit that they do these days, it's all rubbish, music and horror. Manhunter really had the real athmosphere, this music...when you listen it alone in the dark...that's a real strong emotion. These days they make crappy effect horror, but Manhunter was something else. Thank you Michael Mann & lads, vive la 80's, Manhunter & Miami Vice!
as a HUGE manhunter fan i personally think people who've never seen or even heard of manhunter wouldn't find red dragon such a bad movie. which it isn't truthfully, the acting isn't brilliant but far from rubbish. however, having seen MANHUNTER like 50 times before RD i gotta say it did bother me how it was pretty much redone word for word. and once u experience PETERSON as graham u just can't see ED NORTON doing the same job albeit he's a great actor(american history x, fight club etc).
Strangely enough, this kinda sounds like the music from the game 'Manhunt' this is a great film with great actors and a great soundtrack (basically this is GREAT)
please help me-in 1986 my friend boguht a tape which she thought was public image's FIRST ISSIE album but someone ,I realise ,had taped over it-if i upload a bit would someone help me with who this atmospheric band might actually be?? many thanks Lil
Interesting how Mann has this Lector imprisoned in a brightly lit, clean, sterile environment in a 5th floor cell whereas Demme had him down in a dank, dark, filthy hole.
The Michael Mann version was more stylish, grittier and had far better actors than the second. Norton looked like a substitute teacher and not a rough around the edges FBI agent who had gone through hell. Oh well to each his own.
This is eerie music, but regarding your info, I'm a big fan of both, and I don't think I'd call the second film inferior. It's truer to the book and we get to see more of Dolarhyde. Just my opinion, thanks for posting though.
love this damn movie!!! and yes, I'm watching it right now :)

@Mortal1Monk It's all from the book so it's possibly that some of Brett Ratner's lagies didn't even know of this film. Possibly most.
