Ты бы  поинтересовался биографией Цоя, прежде чем такие заявления кидать. ЦОй был русским несмотря на то что его отец корейского просхождения (отец сам наполовину русским был), мама русская, родился Цой в Питере. Вырос в русском окружении и обществе.

STAR it's SUN, not communistic government :) :) He wasn't muppet communistic singer, his songs were about changes and new era, also Tsoy was artist, so he hate war, and in many his songs WAR and FIGHT means somebody and his feelings, his inner world and fight with evil, outer world, circumstances and so on. Afganistan war also is like that, soldiers also have fight, but true meaning is more wider, it's touch anyone who listen

Spasiba for the clarification. He was brilliant. Lyrics are very poetic. I'm just curious as to why he used, blood type, from WW2, to express his dislike for war in Afghanistan? There is an American made movie that shows Soviet troops in this conflict. It's called "the Beast", came out about 10 tears ago. I don't know if you've seen it. But it's very good.

Blood type is a symbol to our body, our life, that we can loose. Very long time i've thought, that blood type in this song is refer to people, addicted with drugs. USSR have serious problem with that, because borders opens, many new thing came to us - narcotics, foreign music, foreign goods, different agressive sub-culture - punks, skih-heads, and so on. But now i understand that is more wider, blood type is our blood, he make us remember

This song surfaced in 1980s during the long Soviet-Afghan War. Obviously, many Soviet youths were disenfranchised with the war. Thus the youth had interpreted the lyrics as an expression of their aversion. No where in Blood Type does Victor mention or imply for or against war. He left it to the imagination of individuals. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've tried to listen to the English version of this song. I was not able to fully understand in light of the accent. My impression of this song is that it is not an aversion to war. Obviously, the lyrics are very metaphorical. It expresses the typical feeling or emotion a soldier would feel going into battle, i.e., able to survive and being wished luck.

Maybe it is related to the war in Afghanistan, I do not know. I would not be so concrete. And I do not like politics...

To me, it evokes image of someone who does not want to remain in a warm place ("tyoplae miesta"), because the streets are waiting for his footprints ("no ulicy zhdut atpechatkav nashyh nog"), who wants to go ahead and fight, or at least do something worthy. That's it.

@oblakaniec: Concerning the fact, that his fame indeed resulted from his aversion against the war in Afghanistan, I think it's the other way round. He wants to stay where it's warm, but the star (Communist government) tells him to go and fight ("streets are waiting"). The grass therefore is a symbol for the battleground, where he doesn't want to die ("wish me not to remain in this grass").
