  • I have been a Black Sabbath fan since the late 70s,and I just found out about this album last night while finishing the last few pages of

Tony Iommis new book he just released this month of november,2011.He only just mentions this album barely too.

  • underrated

  • tony martin was decent. would never shit talk him, but he lacked the charisma and vocal magnetism of any other sabbath singer. it's just what it is. Iommi makes all these cd's must haves, though. get 'em on amazon before they get any more expensive - many are out of print or import only!

  • Tony Martin + Iommi + Cross Purposes = Perfection!!!

  • @Evilhyuuga10 agree

  • who'sthe singer???

  • I have full blown anxiety and HOLY SHIT this song entirely lifts away that pain. it's literally like taking valium

  • This song makes me happy.

  • YIKES! 40,666 views! It's Sunday, today, when others are in church, but I listen to Black Sabbath in my own church.

  • imo, Martin fit sabbath better than Gillan. This is probably the best non ozzy/dio album IMO. Im just tryn to imagine how great this album would have been with the blizzard on it. you can bash ozzy all you want, but the man fit sabbath like noone else.

  • To me, if it doesn"t have Ozzy or Dio, it is not Sabbath......actually, the Born Again period I liked as well, but any other singer did just not do it for me.

  • @DHRC18 Thats a shame, because theres a general feeling that the tony martin era was probably some of their best albums musically. Ozzy is a one trick pony. Dio was great of course!

  • @DHRC18 You gotta take into account Tony Iommi instead of just the singers. HE is Black Sabbath. Of course it helps a lot to have a great singer. You can always rely on some killer riff from Iommi. Maybe this stuff is'nt as good as Dio or Ozzy Sabbath to everyone else but, to a true fan of the music, there was life after Ozzy and Dio. Personally, I'm a HUGE Dio-era Sabbath fan but Tony Martin is a great singer. There are some good songs on the later Sabbath records

  • My Fave Sabbath album ever.

  • Goddamn...between Geezer AND Rondinelli!!?? Simply stunning!!!! I'd have loved to have been a 'fly on the wall' when Bobby was in the studio with these guys cutting these tracks...

  • fucking epic...

  • gracias a todos a quelolos que aman la verdad

  • The BEST song of the album!

  • What a solo! Tony Iommi, you never cease to amaze!

  • I saw them with Motor Head back in the 90's. It was at The Universal Ampetheatre. They were Awesome Tony Iommi Totally Rocks.

  • Maybe some consider Heaven and Hell a comeback. They're wrong. We REAL Sabbath fans have ALWAYS known the greatness of Tony Iommi.

  • @TheKevinWalker exactly but The Devil You Know is still a welcome Addition to the Black Sabbath discography.

  • Woah, thrash drums! Unexpected.

  • This was my shit back in high school! 94 was a good year...

  • Indeed, it was.

1994 was also a good year because of Pantera's album Far Beyond Driven (which I think is better than Vulgar Display of Power) and Megadeth's album Youthanasia (which I think is better than Countdown to Extinction).

  • ALSO MIGHT I ADD!!!

Machine Head's debut best "Burn My Eyes", Slayer's cult classic "Divine Intervention", Dream Theater's "Awake", Kyuss' awesome "Welcome To Sky Valley" and of course.... Emperor's first masterpeice... the majestic "In The Nightside Eclipse".

Not to forget that was when Pulp Fiction was unleashed to the world, but for metal's history in my opinion-1995 was better overall yet the 1990's were the greatest.

  • the 1990s were just good for music in general. Listen to a song from the 90's. Anything. DO you like it? Damn straight.

  • Ha ha ha yeah you just convienently caught me listening to Kyuss when I first saw the comment!

  • Youthanasia ranks right below Rust In Peace/Endgame (those are tied). It's a vastly underrated album.

  • @jamerapp3

    my thought exactly

  • I cannot wait to see them live in California in July 2009! My Space Headless Cross Tour 2009 for information.

  • great song amazing guitar work by Tony Iommi!!

  • Hey this is pretty good actually, I have 2 albums with Tony Martin I never could get into his vocals his vocals weren't strong enough but he was a great replacement, but the keyboards just sounded out of place. Still though Iommi's riffs were always great. Long live the King! ! ! Kick ass solo too! ! !

  • Iommis riffs are always great :D So glad i've got to see heaven and hell live and have seen Iommi walking around on the stage playing... you know he does not deliver a stage performace. _Just walking around playing awesome riffs and solos :D

  • Muito Afude! YEAH!!!

  • So much for my great song title! Stolen!

  • Only the first 6? Bah, the whole lp is solid, and Cardinal Sin is great!

  • I found a copy at "coles bookstore" i'm not sure if the company is in the states but i just ordered it through them, along with the "forbidden" album with martin.

  • This is a HARD to find record! I had to search for the original for a long time. but i got it!!!!

Great great record. probably my favorite with Tony Martin of all his records. this is an amazing song!

    Thanks for uploading it

  • im trying to get TYR and Forbidden and i found this for only 5 bux at a used cd store brand new 3 weeks ago. I Love the riffing and solo arond 3 minute mark of this song.

  • Yeah thats the two i´m missing, great records both of them.

  • listen to the part at 2:30 !!!! insane!

  • this song and i witness --- my favourite songs from this album. beautiful lead vocal and guitar solo.

  • Oh nice! I still gotta buy this one too!

  • You'll be happy with the first 6 songs, the rest isn't very exciting imo. Best chance is ebay or a local record importer, and try to get the Japanese version, it has a bonus track and it's high in value, get it at the lowest price

  • Cool man! Thanks for the tip! Ill keep an eye our for that Japanese version!

  • Personally, I think the last few songs are great, especially Cardinal Sin.

  • Can you post the bonus track, how many bonus tracks were there from the Martin era?

  • CP is not one of my favourite Sabbath albums but this song is great

  • It has its momets , like Psychophobia, unfortuantely TYR i think was when they hit their hieght during the Tomy martin era

  • i love this song because i identify with it.

  • can't choose only ONE best song from Black Sabbath

  • It's not my best song, it's tie with Dying For Love and since I can't choose which one, I decided to put both song in a different catagory, Heavy Metal and Ballad.

  • sorry, i answered back with the wrong user name, just so ur not confused

  • How can anyone think this would be better with Ozzy..This song is made for Tony Martin

  • Drums are delightful!

  • i think this song would have been better with Ozzy the riffs fucking pwn

  • yeah, right (sarcasm), tony martin is the only one that can sing this song and make it sound true

  • @BlackSabbath370 idk i think dio could have pulled this off also

  • This is not bad i thought it would be worst but it aint bad kinda sounds like scott weiland

  • great song...

  • ESSE CARA EH O CARA!!!

    IMMACULAAAAAAAAATE...

    DECEPTIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNN

    DECEPTIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo WOW UH WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely one of the best of Black Sabbath

  • great song, great album and great lineup

  • geezer and any good drummer can wreck any rthm section in rock

  • A very cool chorus part for this song, well executed. I'm one of those who recently found out about this Tony Martin fellow, thank the Loooooord I did. \m/

  • Great album! My favorite with Tony Martin.

  • love this fucking lineup==still haven't heard this whole album--love headless cross and tyr

  • love the tony martin era!!

  • I love Geezer's playing on this. His fills are busy yet tasteful.

IMHO, the most overlooked Sabbath effort.

  • Don't you mean underlooked

  • Not really. People seem to dismiss the Tony martin era. Perhaps I used the wrong term, but you get my meaning. BTW, You're videos are great BS370.

  • @BlackSabbath370 Overlooked works lol as in "skipped over" but yeah, this one is nice because Geezer was still around after Dehumanizer. I think both albums were the last great effort from the band. You hear things reminiscent of what made them a success back in the 70's while also seeing that they are able to progress. I think this is the best album with Tony Martin, second being Headless Cross IMO

  • @BlackSabbath370

    Overlooked means to not notice.

  • Quality track- I like the way it speeds up and slows down.

  • One of the many reasons why this is my favorite song
