So if i whant to put new video card because my is integrated i have to upgrade my power yes? And i opened my pc and i can't find a 6 pin connector there...
@faziusius1 If the new video card requires a 6-pin PCI-E power connector, and your power supply does not have that connection, then you can either purchase an adapter to convert one of the existing power supply connections to a 6-pin, or purchase a new power supply. If you want to go with getting the adapter, the connection you are most likely to have from your current power supply is a 4-pin rectangular connector called a Molex connector.
@faziusius1 (cont.) Try going to a local electronic parts store and locate a Molex to 6-pin PCI-E power connector. Also, make sure that the power supply you are trying to use with the video card meets the minimum requirements to prevent any problems with the system.
@MrTGNak Laptop video cards are usually little tiny chipsets that would be physically mounted into a board. Because of the size of the chip, compared to a full fledged desktop video card, a laptop video card cannot go into a desktop.
@omartor8 Most AMD video cards can handle 2 monitors at best. The starter card for three monitors from AMD would be an HD 6770 as it has a DisplayPort on it. For any AMD video card, a DisplayPort is required in order to run three monitors. Have a look at our video on Eyefinity for more information.
nice video but can you please help me i would like to know if a radeon 5670 graphics card will fit inside a compaq presario sr1810nx please help i cant find a answer anywhere
@blastlaughs The computer you mentioned has a PCI-Express 16x slot in it, so the card should fit in there. However, you will want to contact the video card manufacturer to confirm that the card will fit and work in your computer as most store bought computers come with low power supplies that do not meet the minimum requirements to run the video card.
@dmmadmin2 help me help me please.i have a compaq presario r5505f and does it support graphics card.i dont know which one to get i wanna play gta4.and ive been searching all day and night and im almost dying of sleep.pleaseeee help meeeeeeee.
@lazertag720 I would contact the manufacturer of the video card you are looking at to purchase to see if the card you want will work with your system. You may have to upgrade parts in your computer in order to run your game, but I would also look up what the system requirements are for playing the game first before contacting a video card manufacturer.
@dmmadmin2 ok.i could run gta4 but some roads are missing and it lags like crazy.so the game is unplayable.i have 2gb of ram.i really need a graphics card.
@lazertag720 Unless you opted for the option to upgrade the processor from HP, your computer currently runs on a Athlon X2 64 2.2 GHz processor. The minimum requirement to run Grand Theft Auto 4 is a Athlon X2 64 2.4 GHz processor. While you have enough memory to run the game for the minimum requirements, GTA4 recommends at least 2.5 GB of RAM to play without problems. Also, the video card that is recommended for playing GTA4 would be a Radeon HD 3870 with 512 MB of video memory.
@dmmadmin2 (cont.) Even with that being said, the 3870 requires that you have a 450 watt power supply or greater in order to run the video card, but your computer only comes with a stock 250 watt power supply. In order to run the game without problems, you will have to upgrade the power supply to at least a 550 watt power supply to be safe when running games on a high end video card.
@dmmadmin2 (cont.) If you were to upgrade the power supply to at least 550 watts, as well as upgrade the processor on your computer, I would then recommend the starter video card for gamers, which would be a Radeon HD 6770.
@4131025 A full height video card is taller than a low-profile video card due to the computer case you are using. Unless the normal card comes with a metal bracket to convert it from a full height to half height (low-profile), you cannot install the normal card. Even if the card does fit into the low profile slot, if it cannot be secured to the computer case, then it may fall out if the computer is moved, or produce unwanted results, such as no video or display problems.
@4131025 If your computer does not take full height video cards, then you can put the low profile bracket on the video card in place of the full height bracket. However, you will have to remove a connection from the video card, usually VGA, in order for the bracket to fit on the video card. You will want to contact the manufacturer of your computer to see if your computer only accepts low-profile video cards before removing the bracket.
@PCGamer1471 It depends on the operating system and the computer. Most times, you will want to uninstall the previous drivers for the video card. Sometimes, the operating system will take care of uninstalling the previous video card drivers. If the operating system does not do this automatically, then I would uninstall the drivers manually to prevent device conflicts and system instability.
@dmmadmin2 Well I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit will that be ok? and when i uninstall the old drivers (If I have to) Do I have to be on the on-board video?
@PCGamer1471 In our video, we were on the on-board video when the card was being disabled (see Part 2 of this series). You will want to be on the on-board, if possible, so that you can see that there is another graphics adapter (video card) in Device Manager under Windows. If the new video card is being detected, then disable the old one and shut down your computer. The version of Windows you are running should be okay.
@InfamousPainter That is a problem with your system and I would contact a computer repair shop to see if they can help you fix your problem as it may be an issue with your operating system or hard drive.
@InfamousPainter If the video card you have requires external power because it cannot run by just putting the card in the system, then you will have some black looking connector with holes on the top of the card that look like the one used in this video. You power supply must have this connector, or an adapter to convert a plug into this connector, in order to use the video card. If the power supply does not have it, then you would have to upgrade the power supply or use another card.
@InfamousPainter If you are getting no video at all on your computer when you turn it on, try putting the video card in another computer to see if you get the same problem. If you do, then the issue may be with the card going bad and you should contact the manufacturer to get a replacement. If the card works fine on another computer, then try putting another video card in your system to see if you get the same problem. If the second card does not work, then you may have a bad motherboard.
@lemans24fan The HD 4670 video card requires a PCI-E x16 video card slot to be on your motherboard in order to install the video card. The slot we used in our video with the HD 5770 is also a PCI-E x16 slot. Therefore, you will need to use the same type of slot for your 4670 video card.
@Warfreak57 The GPU we used in the video was the Diamond Radeon HD 5770 graphics card. The CPU used in the video is an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU running at 2.4 GHz. The GPU currently in the system, before installing the 5770 graphics card, below the metal heatsink is the Intel G31 Express chipset.
I got GTX 550 ti and I want to switch with HD 6870. This is my first time swapping GPU. If I go to control panel (window 7) There's a lot Nvidia drivers like Nvidia 3d vision Controller 280.19, Nvidia 3d vision driver 280.26, Nvidia Graphics Driver 280.26, Nvidia HD audio Driver 1.2.23.3, Nvidia PhysX system software 9.10, Nvidia update 1.4.28. Which one should I uninstall before installing new GPU and Drivers? Or can I just use computer/properties/Device manager/Display adapters/Driver/Uninsta
@Surveylol I would recommend removing all nVidia software from your computer to prevent your system from trying to detect your nVidia card. Do not use the Uninstall option as removing the software will also remove the drivers from Device Manager. If any of your applications or games use PhysX, then after installing the AMD drivers and software for the 6870, when re-running any game or application that requires PhysX, the installation wizard for that game will reinstall PhysX for you.
@dmmadmin2 (cont.) If your motherboard came with an nVidia graphics chipset on it, then when uninstalling nVidia software on your computer, you may get multiple options for removing software depending on whether or not you are removing the card's software or the motherboard's graphics software. Make sure to remove both if this is the case before installing the drivers and software for the 6870 video card.
@Surveylol Just go to the Control Panel in Windows 7 and for each item listed by nVidia, click on it and select the "Uninstall" option. You may have to restart your computer a few times during the uninstall process for each nVidia item you uninstall, but once all items of nVidia have been removed, shut down the computer and put in the 6870 video card. If you need more help with this process, contact the manufacturer of your nVidia or AMD/ATI video card.
holy shit, that is one nice graphics card! and im trying to live it up with a RAGE 128 PRO something or other that is older than the hills. pretty decent, though.
@mmrlon If you put the installed video card into another computer, do you get the same problem? If you computer has on-board video, does the computer work okay without the video card in the system? If the video card works okay in another computer, then there may be something wrong with your system. If the built-in video card works in your system, but the installed card does not, then there may be a problem with the power supply or compatibility issues. In either case, contact the PC manufacturer
@mmrlon hey if all of your fans are working right and your system is stable, hit F2. I plugged my fans into my fan controller so I had to take them out of the motherboard. When you take the plug for the CPU fan and the exhaust fan out of the motherboard it will shut off unless you press F2 for each fan.
@ultimatenerfinator54 The procedure would be the same, only use nVidia drivers from their website and make sure to remove any existing ATI/AMD drivers from your system if you have an ATI card installed on your computer.
@persianboyshayan If you are referring to the processor on the motherboard, it is an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.4 GHz chip that is being covered by a stock Intel heatsink assembly (fan + heatsink) to keep the processor cool under operation. What part of this video do you see the big Intel chip at?
@persianboyshayan That is the Intel 8280 ICH7 (I/O Controller Hub) that controls the settings for the IDE, ATA, PCI, PCIe, and USB ports, along with other components, for the system.
@TheGamerTiger (cont.) If your computer does not have an ON/OFF switch for the power supply, then simply unplug the power cord from the back of the computer before beginning to work on the machine. Older power supplies used to only have a voltage regulator flip switch for going between using the power supply in European versus North American outlets. You can also replace the power supply if you still feel uncomfortable about working on your computer.
@TheGamerTiger If you are concerned about electrocuting yourself, you can purchase an anti-static wrist strap at a local electronics shop and connect it to your computer case through the alligator clip and this will protect you from being electrocuted. Touching the computer case's metal parts simply puts you at the same electrical potential as the computer you are working on, which prevents any build up of static electricity accidentally discharging onto computer parts like the video card.
@CallofDutyVideosGen Do you have onboard video in your computer? If you do, have you disabled it within your system BIOS? Have you tried another slot in your computer with the 2400? Have you tried another computer with the 2400 to see if you get the same problem? If the card still does not give you video on another computer, contact the video card manufacturer for a replacement as there may be a problem with it. Otherwise, there may be a problem with your system if the card works on another PC.
@ALegendaryStory Can you hear sound coming out from your computer with a set of speakers plugged in other than trying YouTube? If you cannot, then I would try a different set of speakers and make sure that the sound on your computer is working properly. You may want to check your flash player to see if there are any possible updates.
so if the card is PCIe 2.0 or 2.1 it doesn't matter? i mean will it still work when you install the card on to your computer placing it to The PCIe x16 will it work?
@BAOUZIZI PCIe 2.1 is based on PCIe 2.0 with future support for the next standard to come out, PCIe 3.0. With that being said, a PCIe 2.1 card will still work in a PCIe 2.0 slot.
i dont have the PCI-E 6pin conector and the GPU i wana buy has that 6 pin conector HELP oh and i found out a better deal but it has 2x 6pin to 2 molex and that equals 4 molex conectors wtf i dont have 4 molex conectors :/
@MrKontrol90 Some of those Molex connectors that come with those adapter cables are male (with pins) or female (with holes). You would only need to plug in the male Molex plug from your power supply to the female plug on the adapter cable and that should allow the card to power up. As long as the power supply meets the minimum requirements, and you have enough Molex cables from your power supply, you can run a better card. Otherwise, you will need to upgrade the power supply.
@xdojox If the video card covers the memory slot in your computer, then depending on the configuration of the channels, you may be able to run the video card in the system. However, if your memory configuration does require you to use that memory slot the video card is blocking in order to power on the system, you will not be able to run the video card with that memory slot blocked. A general rule of thumb is to not put a video card in a system which will block the memory slots.
@xdojox Depending on the video card and case you are using with your system, and whether or not the memory goes into either the white slots or black slots to allow the system to boot, the card should still work. However, if the card would cover up the latches where the memory would go into, then it may be difficult to remove the memory from the computer without removing the video card first. The same would also apply if you were to reinstall the card and the memory back into the system.
@hitballfootler If the video card you have requires a 6-pin connector, then you can purchase an adapter that goes from 4-pin molex to 6-pin cable to use the card with. If by a 2x 4 pin you mean an 8-pin PCI Express connector, then there are also connectors that go from 8-pin to 6-pin PCI Express connectors you can purchase as well. If it is two separate 4-pin connectors, then you would only need one of them and the 4-pin to 6-pin adapter cable.
I've got a serious problem. I went to take the bracket off but there are no screws and it appears to be attached to the computer. Do you know how I would remove it. It's a gateway btw.
@hitballfootler If the bracket is attached to the computer, then if the cable is attached to the system, you may want to contact the manufacturer of the computer to find out if you can remove the bracket without causing other problems for your computer.
@TheGamingEagle Most games automatically set your performance levels when the game detects the video card for you. Any of the Lord of the Rings games can run on Medium Settings and it should run fine. The same applies for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 using the 5450 card. However, since Black Ops and Crysis are more intensive than the other games mentioned, low to medium settings is the best you can get with the 5450. You will need a better card to run the games you mentioned on max settings.
@mozilla805 Depending on the power supply manufacturer, it may or may not have a 6-pin or 8-pin PCI-E connector. Most power supplies that were made several years ago will have 4-pin Molex connectors as they were the standard connector for using older hard drives and CD-ROM drives with. If you are missing a connector for your card, you can purchase an adapter cable at a local electronics store to convert the Molex into a 6-pin or 8-pin PCI-E connector to use for your video card.
@mozilla805 VGA is an analog signal that can output up to a resolution of 1280 x 1024. DVI is a digital signal that can output up to a resolution of 1600 x 1200. These resolutions mentioned will vary depending on the video card drivers and monitor being used. There are adapters you can purchase that will convert a VGA connection into a DVI connection if the video card you are using does not have a VGA port on it. The higher the resolution, the better the image looks on the monitor.
I laughed at the beginning of your video because TigerDirect said not to use green screwdrivers because they would explode in your hands. XD Great tutorial though! Finally, something that's not only the hardware part, but the whole thing!
hello im trying to install a ATI Radeon X1650 graphics card on a pc with an Intel Celeron 3.0 Ghz processor with an integrated graphics card. Im not sure what pci slot it goes in but it doesnt fit in any of the slots present on the motherboard. Id rly like some help with this
@Scorch052 As far as I know, the X1650 graphics card requires a PCI-Express slot or an AGP slot, depending on the version you have. If you only have PCI slots in your computer, then the X1650 will not fit in your machine. You would have to purchase a new motherboard that comes with a PCI-Express or AGP slot on it since the X1650 graphics card was designed to work in slots specifically used for graphics.
@dmmadmin2 Did you have any problems with your video card like black screens or freezes? I'm thinking of getting one of these because it fits my budget, desktop size and compatible with my psu
@Knightman963 all graphics cards come with 5 year warranty with registration. Diamond has a very low RMA return rate but if there is ever a problem we have very good tech support.
Awesome, awesome video Chris. Thank you so very much. I see you were installing a Radeon HD5770! I've been looking into getting one myself to play PC games, since I have the same onboard graphics shown in your vid, the Intel G33 Family Chipset. Could you or anyone elserecommend the Radeon5770 for playing games with good display settings? I want to be able to play nice-looking games & newer graphic-demanding games (although the newer games dont have to be on "ULTIMATE" graphic mode). Thanks!
@n00bgotPwned The 5770 is somewhat the starter video card for anything related to intense usage of graphics, such as with video editing, photo editing, and gaming. Depending on what games you are playing and how many monitors you want to use, this 5770 is one of the first cards by AMD that is able to make use of three monitors on a single card. You can contact a video card manufacturer to find out what card they would recommend for your system for gaming.
@1Adr1an6 It depends on the card. Most low end video cards that can run off of the motherboard's supplied power will not have this slot. While other cards, such as the one used in this video, and other high end graphics cards, will have one or two of these slots on them. In which case, you will need to plug in those connections to the card from the power supply in order for you to use the card. Contact the manufacturer of the video card to see if the card you want requires that slot or not.
@Gavin66627 Not necessarily. The card I used in this video will only fit into a PCI-E x16 slot. If I had the same type of slot, but a different specification, such as x8 or x4, I would lose performance since the video card would be lowered to the speed that the slot can handle. Also, I could not put an x16 card into a PCI slot because it would damage the motherboard. It is best to always check what you have available for a video card and consult card manufacturers to see what works with your PC.
@Crimson203 It depends on what you are using the computer for and what are the requirements for running the graphics card you want to put in your computer. If you are wanting to play games or do any type of video or picture editing, then if you have an old system, the resulting performance will be poor or almost impossible to do. If you just want to work with office applications on multiple monitors for multitasking, then on a brand new system, it may come with a good video card that does this.
@dmmadmin2 i want ask one question,i have pc that onboard graphic, and i want upgrade to a new graphic card.can i change the new 3d card and disable the on board grahic card??pliss reply.thanks
@Amir24100 Yes you can, provided your computer meets the requirements to run the new graphics card. Take a look at the whole series on Installing a Graphics Card to see how this process works.
@Box0rz No, it does not matter which manufacturer has made the graphics card, but there are some features that interact better with certain motherboards for graphics cards, such as nVidia with SLI, or AMD/ATI with Crossfire. As long as the graphics card fits into the slot of your motherboard, and that you meet the other requirements to use the video card, then it should work. If you are in doubt, you can always contact the manufacturer of the card to see if their card will work with your system.
@dmmadmin2 Ok, one more question. If my computer has 2 slots for graphics cards, can I install multiple graphics cards to get more power and if yes, do they have to be the same model.
@Box0rz You can install more than one graphics card in your computer if your motherboard supports it. The graphic cards do not have to be the same model if you want to just add more monitors to your system. However, to get better performance from your computer, you will want to have the same model graphics cards installed in your system.
@babiesrevil Normally, you would plug in both 6-pin power connectors to the video card because without both of them connected, the fan would spin pretty high and you would get no video when you boot up the machine. Of course, you may want to confirm this by checking the system requirements or by contacting the video card manufacturer to confirm.
hii...ur video really hepled.....now my question is ...i dont have a pci xpress connector...for graphics cards..what should i do....plz...help........... ... if u can suggest my any graphics card...plz do...
my pc is...intel core 2 duo..2.53 mhz
pci xpress 16 slot connector
intel motherboard(dg31pr...)
my power supply is of 250 v.....nd i DONT have a pci xpess connector.....plz help.......nd i've have subcribe.....
@sudeepdhara Depending on the graphics card you purchase, you may have to upgrade your power supply if you use the card for high-end applications as newer cards need more power than what you have currently in your computer. If you do not have a PCI-Express power connector, then you can purchase a Molex-to-6-pin PCI-Express adapter cable that goes from a 4-pin Molex power connector (found on your hard drive, CD drive, or fan) to a 6-pin PCI-E power connector at a local electronics store.
@sudeepdhara That depends on the manufacturer and whether or not they supply the cable or not. Most graphics card manufacturers do not include such a connector with their graphics cards. However, you can go to your local electronics store and purchase this connector, or purchase a graphics card that will work without needing the power connector by just plugging in the card into the PCI-Express slot.
@sudeepdhara If you are looking for a card, I would contact a video card manufacturer or do some research online to see what card would work best for your system. Some of the manufacturers include nVidia, ATI/AMD, ASUS, MSi, Sapphire, XFX, EVGA, Zotac, Diamond, and PowerColor to name a few.
i have a problem wait my computer hp compaq dc7600 small form factor
when i install my graphic card in the motherboard the computer is on but the tv is stay off end any time the computer is on normaly but is not on wait the graphic card is sayed this message 921-device in pciexpress slot failed to initialize.
@s3aydimanar I would make sure the card you are trying to put into your computer is designed for a small-form factor computer. If it does, then try to re-seat the graphics card in your computer to verify it locks into place. I would also try the video card in another computer to see if you get the same problem. If the same problem occurs on another computer, then the issue may be with the graphics card. If the card works on another computer, then there may be a problem with your system.
@Darkcatcher19 You can install a new card if your computer has an available PCI-E slot, AGP slot, or PCI slot. However, the on-board graphics card that you currently have on your pc is decent from the ATI line of internal graphics cards. Depending on the manufacturer, most newer cards require a PCI-E slot and not a PCI slot. Contact the manufacturer of the graphics card you want to put in your computer and ask them if it will work or not and if it is better than what you already have.
@Darkcatcher19 The Radeon HD 4200 series is an integrated graphics card series. This means the card is physically mounted as a chip onto your motherboard. Depending on the slots you have available on your motherboard, you may be able to put in a newer video card.
I have the hp workstation z200 with the graphic card: intel HD graphics. It sucks, a friend says that it is onboard, which he says means that i cant remove it, is that true?Kk
@112kicker If a graphics card is on-board, then it means it is physically connected to the computer's board. This card cannot be removed since it was built that way for your HP computer. You can turn off the on-board video so that your computer does not use it if you decide to upgrade your video card. This method is called "Disabling your on-board Video" and you can take a look at our video on how to disable it in Part 2.
@Warfreak57 On-board cards cannot be physically replaced. However, you can get another video card and when you install it, Windows will replace the on-board card with the new video card you installed. If it does not for some reason, you will have to disable the on-board video in either Windows or the System BIOS. As for the processor you have, you can use it, but for higher end cards, you may need to acquire at least a dual-core processor or higher to play games or get video from your system.
@dmmadmin2 On-board cards cannot be replaced?I'm having a problem with this because the video card I just bought only fits in the pci slot where the on-board card is.You can see the problem: you say in part 2 that if you try to turn on your computer, no picture unless you turn it back on with your on-board card, to uninstall it to to install the other card: which isn't plugged in, because it only uses the on-board pci slot. ah! How do I install a card when I can't plug it in any other slot?
@keimica PCI cards are expansion cards that can be removed from your computer. On-board cards are physically soldered onto the motherboard and cannot be removed. If you already have a graphics card in your PCI slot and you want to replace or upgrade that card, you can remove it. A PCI card and an on-board card (on-board chipset) are two separate cards.
@dmmadmin2 ...Adding onto last post, if I can't install my graphics card because it only plugs into the on-board card (which needs to be plugged in to disable itself), then I think I'm going to have to buy a new graphics card! No! I just bought a bunch of cables for it (now coming in the mail...some already here), and downloaded the driver.
Thank you for the three part video. It was one of the most complete all the way through. With it I was able to finish the install of a friend's new graphic card and driver. Prior to your video, I had left out the step of disabling the onboard graphics card. Thanks again.
i have bought a new graphics card, XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850, my computer doesn't have power connectors for it, what do i do now, where can i get the power connecters from?
@mirnomanbaloch If your power connections are 4-pin Molex connectors for hard drives, CD-ROM drives, and fans, then you can purchase an adapter cable at your local electronics store and convert a molex connector (4-pin) to 6-pin PCI-E power connector. One end of the adapter goes to the Molex connector on the computer and the other end of the cable will go to the 6-pin PCI-E power connector on the video card. You will need to plug in as many connectors as necessary to power the video card.
@mirnomanbaloch If that is the case, then you will have to purchase a new power supply with connectors for your other computer parts that has 6-pin PCI-E power connectors on it to use your 5850 video card. Most new power supplies come with these connectors on them already. The box should say on it when you purchase the power supply the types of connectors available with the unit.
@mirnomanbaloch Those connectors are probably Molex (4-pin) connectors if they look the same as the connectors used on your hard drive and CD-ROM drive. If one of the connectors is a 2-by-3 connector that looks like it would fit in to the video card, then you can try using the power connector to see if it will power up the card and give you video. If it does not work, then you will need to either get an adapter or a new power supply.
Hi I'm going for an ATI Radeon 6950 and my power supply is only 300W, is that not good enough? What would you suggest I do? I've read that the 6950 requires 200W, does that mean it sucks up 200W or needs a 200W power supply?
@Richy15251 In order to use the 6950 video card, you will need a power supply with at least 500W or more is recommended. Since power supplies have an efficiency rating on them, which is 70 - 80% and up of the maximum power output on the supply, you will need at least 700W - 750W for your power supply. The card does require more than 200W in order to run the card. Depending on the load you put on the video card, it can use up to 200 Watts when working in your computer.
@dmmadmin2 Thank you very much for your help. I've educated myself a lot since I made the post and I actually transplanted a 500W power supply from an older computer. That didn't work out properly and now I won't have to figure out why, I'll just get a new PSU. Thank you very much!
the 16 lane slot, my computer doesnt have one, but theres a spot where it looks like one can go, could i just buy it and put it in the designated spot or do I have to buy a whole new motherboard?
@MrBlamAlmighty If you try to put a video card in a slot that looks like it would fit and it does not fit, you could damage your motherboard. You will want to consult your motherboard documentation or contact your computer manufacturer to see if the slot you have is the 16 lane slot or not. If the slot is not 16 lane, then you would have to purchase a new motherboard that has a PCI-Express 16 lane slot.
@dmmadmin2 Ok well I just bought the same graphics card as you ( maybe a bit newer) would it work if I bought a 8 slot lane to 16 slot lane converter?
ok, you could ignore my last comment, I had not watched part 2/3 and din't know the computer would display anything, regardless if the card's specific drivers have not been installed.
soon i am going to change from my nvidia card to my newer ATI 5770. The Nvidia Card was build into the computer when I purchased it. There is also onboard. What are the steps?
I have a Zotac Nvidia GeForce 7200 GS video card. I've followed the directions in the video word by word. (Installing, disabling on board graphics, etc.)
The card registers with my PC, however when I hook the VGA cable up to the CTR port, the screen is black when I boot my PC up. I have a feeling that I'll need to buy a DVI cord or adapter but I don't want to (possibly) waste more money. I've tried looking everywhere for a solution but with no luck, please help. :(
@Styleshift88 You can try another PCI-Express slot, if you have one available on your computer, to see if you have a bad slot. If you know of someone who has a computer that has the same slot your Zotac video card can go into, then you can test that card in your computer to see if you get the same problem. If you have another video card available, or if your on-board video still works, test this to see if it gives you video. If it does, then your system is fine and the card may have failed.
@TechyXbox360COD Make sure that your on-board video card is disabled, if you have it on your computer, and then plug your monitor into the Radeon video card. You may want to also try another slot if you have one available on your computer for this video card, or another computer if you have one available. The card may be failing if you have had the Radeon video card for a while because the processor is failing.
@TechyXbox360COD My video card was working. The next day i had no display on my monitor, i plugged my cord back into my onboard and checked my device manager, and my new video card i had installed before is no longer there. What does that mean
@11solidus If the HD2400XT card no longer shows up in Device Manager, then Windows does not recognize the new video card you installed. You can try another slot in your system to put the card in, or put your card in another computer, to see if you get the same problem with video. If the card no longer gets recognized by any system, then the card has to be replaced.
@keeran50 If you are using a power supply that has only 4-pin white rectangular connectors (Molex), you would need to purchase a Molex-to-PCI-E 6-pin adapter cable in order to have a connector available for your graphics card. You can buy these at any local electronic store.
My graphiccard can't get removed, since there is no screw holding it. Can someone help me how I remove the card, cause I have tried to find any solution =(

So if i whant to put new video card because my is integrated i have to upgrade my power yes? And i opened my pc and i can't find a 6 pin connector there...
faziusius1 2 weeks ago
@faziusius1 If the new video card requires a 6-pin PCI-E power connector, and your power supply does not have that connection, then you can either purchase an adapter to convert one of the existing power supply connections to a 6-pin, or purchase a new power supply. If you want to go with getting the adapter, the connection you are most likely to have from your current power supply is a 4-pin rectangular connector called a Molex connector.
dmmadmin2 1 week ago
@faziusius1 (cont.) Try going to a local electronic parts store and locate a Molex to 6-pin PCI-E power connector. Also, make sure that the power supply you are trying to use with the video card meets the minimum requirements to prevent any problems with the system.

can labtop video cards go into desktops ?
MrTGNak 3 weeks ago
@MrTGNak Laptop video cards are usually little tiny chipsets that would be physically mounted into a board. Because of the size of the chip, compared to a full fledged desktop video card, a laptop video card cannot go into a desktop.

whats a good economical amd card for the 3 monitor setup??
omartor8 3 weeks ago
@omartor8 Most AMD video cards can handle 2 monitors at best. The starter card for three monitors from AMD would be an HD 6770 as it has a DisplayPort on it. For any AMD video card, a DisplayPort is required in order to run three monitors. Have a look at our video on Eyefinity for more information.

nice video but can you please help me i would like to know if a radeon 5670 graphics card will fit inside a compaq presario sr1810nx please help i cant find a answer anywhere
blastlaughs 1 month ago
@blastlaughs The computer you mentioned has a PCI-Express 16x slot in it, so the card should fit in there. However, you will want to contact the video card manufacturer to confirm that the card will fit and work in your computer as most store bought computers come with low power supplies that do not meet the minimum requirements to run the video card.

lazertag720 1 month ago
@lazertag720 I would contact the manufacturer of the video card you are looking at to purchase to see if the card you want will work with your system. You may have to upgrade parts in your computer in order to run your game, but I would also look up what the system requirements are for playing the game first before contacting a video card manufacturer.
dmmadmin2 1 month ago
@dmmadmin2 ok.i could run gta4 but some roads are missing and it lags like crazy.so the game is unplayable.i have 2gb of ram.i really need a graphics card.
lazertag720 1 month ago
@lazertag720 Unless you opted for the option to upgrade the processor from HP, your computer currently runs on a Athlon X2 64 2.2 GHz processor. The minimum requirement to run Grand Theft Auto 4 is a Athlon X2 64 2.4 GHz processor. While you have enough memory to run the game for the minimum requirements, GTA4 recommends at least 2.5 GB of RAM to play without problems. Also, the video card that is recommended for playing GTA4 would be a Radeon HD 3870 with 512 MB of video memory.
dmmadmin2 1 month ago
@dmmadmin2 (cont.) Even with that being said, the 3870 requires that you have a 450 watt power supply or greater in order to run the video card, but your computer only comes with a stock 250 watt power supply. In order to run the game without problems, you will have to upgrade the power supply to at least a 550 watt power supply to be safe when running games on a high end video card.
dmmadmin2 1 month ago
@dmmadmin2 (cont.) If you were to upgrade the power supply to at least 550 watts, as well as upgrade the processor on your computer, I would then recommend the starter video card for gamers, which would be a Radeon HD 6770.

can I install a normal card on a low profile PCI X16
4131025 2 months ago
@4131025 A full height video card is taller than a low-profile video card due to the computer case you are using. Unless the normal card comes with a metal bracket to convert it from a full height to half height (low-profile), you cannot install the normal card. Even if the card does fit into the low profile slot, if it cannot be secured to the computer case, then it may fall out if the computer is moved, or produce unwanted results, such as no video or display problems.
dmmadmin2 2 months ago
@dmmadmin2 if I remove the bracket of the full height video card and then install the low profile bracket, is it okay
4131025 1 month ago
@4131025 If your computer does not take full height video cards, then you can put the low profile bracket on the video card in place of the full height bracket. However, you will have to remove a connection from the video card, usually VGA, in order for the bracket to fit on the video card. You will want to contact the manufacturer of your computer to see if your computer only accepts low-profile video cards before removing the bracket.

do you have to uninstall the previous drivers or will the new drivers patch over the old ones?
PCGamer1471 3 months ago
@PCGamer1471 It depends on the operating system and the computer. Most times, you will want to uninstall the previous drivers for the video card. Sometimes, the operating system will take care of uninstalling the previous video card drivers. If the operating system does not do this automatically, then I would uninstall the drivers manually to prevent device conflicts and system instability.
dmmadmin2 3 months ago
@dmmadmin2 Well I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit will that be ok? and when i uninstall the old drivers (If I have to) Do I have to be on the on-board video?
PCGamer1471 2 months ago
@PCGamer1471 In our video, we were on the on-board video when the card was being disabled (see Part 2 of this series). You will want to be on the on-board, if possible, so that you can see that there is another graphics adapter (video card) in Device Manager under Windows. If the new video card is being detected, then disable the old one and shut down your computer. The version of Windows you are running should be okay.
dmmadmin2 2 months ago
@InfamousPainter That is a problem with your system and I would contact a computer repair shop to see if they can help you fix your problem as it may be an issue with your operating system or hard drive.
dmmadmin2 3 months ago
@InfamousPainter If the video card you have requires external power because it cannot run by just putting the card in the system, then you will have some black looking connector with holes on the top of the card that look like the one used in this video. You power supply must have this connector, or an adapter to convert a plug into this connector, in order to use the video card. If the power supply does not have it, then you would have to upgrade the power supply or use another card.
dmmadmin2 3 months ago
@InfamousPainter If you are getting no video at all on your computer when you turn it on, try putting the video card in another computer to see if you get the same problem. If you do, then the issue may be with the card going bad and you should contact the manufacturer to get a replacement. If the card works fine on another computer, then try putting another video card in your system to see if you get the same problem. If the second card does not work, then you may have a bad motherboard.

Thanks. I'm just buying a plug and play card, a "HIS 4670 HD 1GB card" Do i need to use the same slot that you used in the video? thanks.
lemans24fan 3 months ago
@lemans24fan The HD 4670 video card requires a PCI-E x16 video card slot to be on your motherboard in order to install the video card. The slot we used in our video with the HD 5770 is also a PCI-E x16 slot. Therefore, you will need to use the same type of slot for your 4670 video card.

Which one should I uninstall before installing new GPU and Drivers? Or can I just use computer/properties/Device manager/Display adapters/Driver/Uninsta
Surveylol 3 months ago
@Surveylol I would recommend removing all nVidia software from your computer to prevent your system from trying to detect your nVidia card. Do not use the Uninstall option as removing the software will also remove the drivers from Device Manager. If any of your applications or games use PhysX, then after installing the AMD drivers and software for the 6870, when re-running any game or application that requires PhysX, the installation wizard for that game will reinstall PhysX for you.
dmmadmin2 3 months ago
@dmmadmin2 (cont.) If your motherboard came with an nVidia graphics chipset on it, then when uninstalling nVidia software on your computer, you may get multiple options for removing software depending on whether or not you are removing the card's software or the motherboard's graphics software. Make sure to remove both if this is the case before installing the drivers and software for the 6870 video card.
dmmadmin2 3 months ago
@dmmadmin2 so, how? Please tell the the steps. Sorry Im noob. -_-
Surveylol 3 months ago
@Surveylol Just go to the Control Panel in Windows 7 and for each item listed by nVidia, click on it and select the "Uninstall" option. You may have to restart your computer a few times during the uninstall process for each nVidia item you uninstall, but once all items of nVidia have been removed, shut down the computer and put in the 6870 video card. If you need more help with this process, contact the manufacturer of your nVidia or AMD/ATI video card.

mmrlon 4 months ago
@mmrlon If you put the installed video card into another computer, do you get the same problem? If you computer has on-board video, does the computer work okay without the video card in the system? If the video card works okay in another computer, then there may be something wrong with your system. If the built-in video card works in your system, but the installed card does not, then there may be a problem with the power supply or compatibility issues. In either case, contact the PC manufacturer
dmmadmin2 4 months ago
@mmrlon hey if all of your fans are working right and your system is stable, hit F2. I plugged my fans into my fan controller so I had to take them out of the motherboard. When you take the plug for the CPU fan and the exhaust fan out of the motherboard it will shut off unless you press F2 for each fan.

You can also replace the power supply if you still feel uncomfortable about working on your computer.
dmmadmin2 5 months ago
@TheGamerTiger If you are concerned about electrocuting yourself, you can purchase an anti-static wrist strap at a local electronics shop and connect it to your computer case through the alligator clip and this will protect you from being electrocuted. Touching the computer case's metal parts simply puts you at the same electrical potential as the computer you are working on, which prevents any build up of static electricity accidentally discharging onto computer parts like the video card.

BAOUZIZI 5 months ago

MrKontrol90 5 months ago
@MrKontrol90 Some of those Molex connectors that come with those adapter cables are male (with pins) or female (with holes). You would only need to plug in the male Molex plug from your power supply to the female plug on the adapter cable and that should allow the card to power up. As long as the power supply meets the minimum requirements, and you have enough Molex cables from your power supply, you can run a better card. Otherwise, you will need to upgrade the power supply.

if the graphics card is a little long in a new computer and it is in the line of the RAM of my computer will it not fit?
xdojox 5 months ago
@xdojox If the video card covers the memory slot in your computer, then depending on the configuration of the channels, you may be able to run the video card in the system. However, if your memory configuration does require you to use that memory slot the video card is blocking in order to power on the system, you will not be able to run the video card with that memory slot blocked. A general rule of thumb is to not put a video card in a system which will block the memory slots.
dmmadmin2 5 months ago
@dmmadmin2 this is my motherboard
N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX (Alvorix)
xdojox 5 months ago
@xdojox Depending on the video card and case you are using with your system, and whether or not the memory goes into either the white slots or black slots to allow the system to boot, the card should still work. However, if the card would cover up the latches where the memory would go into, then it may be difficult to remove the memory from the computer without removing the video card first. The same would also apply if you were to reinstall the card and the memory back into the system.

I have another problem. Will a 2x 4 pin to 6 pin adapter work if I have a 4 pin molex connector?
hitballfootler 5 months ago
@hitballfootler If the video card you have requires a 6-pin connector, then you can purchase an adapter that goes from 4-pin molex to 6-pin cable to use the card with. If by a 2x 4 pin you mean an 8-pin PCI Express connector, then there are also connectors that go from 8-pin to 6-pin PCI Express connectors you can purchase as well. If it is two separate 4-pin connectors, then you would only need one of them and the 4-pin to 6-pin adapter cable.

You will need a better card to run the games you mentioned on max settings.

do all power supplies over 550w have a six or 4 pin power slot for video cards and can someone tell me how dvi and vga thing work
mozilla805 5 months ago
@mozilla805 Depending on the power supply manufacturer, it may or may not have a 6-pin or 8-pin PCI-E connector. Most power supplies that were made several years ago will have 4-pin Molex connectors as they were the standard connector for using older hard drives and CD-ROM drives with. If you are missing a connector for your card, you can purchase an adapter cable at a local electronics store to convert the Molex into a 6-pin or 8-pin PCI-E connector to use for your video card.
dmmadmin2 5 months ago
@mozilla805 VGA is an analog signal that can output up to a resolution of 1280 x 1024. DVI is a digital signal that can output up to a resolution of 1600 x 1200. These resolutions mentioned will vary depending on the video card drivers and monitor being used. There are adapters you can purchase that will convert a VGA connection into a DVI connection if the video card you are using does not have a VGA port on it. The higher the resolution, the better the image looks on the monitor.

Scorch052 6 months ago
@Scorch052 As far as I know, the X1650 graphics card requires a PCI-Express slot or an AGP slot, depending on the version you have. If you only have PCI slots in your computer, then the X1650 will not fit in your machine. You would have to purchase a new motherboard that comes with a PCI-Express or AGP slot on it since the X1650 graphics card was designed to work in slots specifically used for graphics.

n00bgotPwned 6 months ago
@n00bgotPwned The 5770 is somewhat the starter video card for anything related to intense usage of graphics, such as with video editing, photo editing, and gaming. Depending on what games you are playing and how many monitors you want to use, this 5770 is one of the first cards by AMD that is able to make use of three monitors on a single card. dm, at 3:24.. Does every card have a slot for that cable ??
1Adr1an6 7 months ago
@1Adr1an6 It depends on the card. Most low end video cards that can run off of the motherboard's supplied power will not have this slot. While other cards, such as the one used in this video, and other high end graphics cards, will have one or two of these slots on them. In which case, you will need to plug in those connections to the card from the power supply in order for you to use the card. Contact the manufacturer of the video card to see if the card you want requires that slot or not.
dmmadmin2 7 months ago
Can you put the card in any one of them slots?
Gavin66627 7 months ago
@Gavin66627 Not necessarily. The card I used in this video will only fit into a PCI-E x16 slot. If I had the same type of slot, but a different specification, such as x8 or x4, I would lose performance since the video card would be lowered to the speed that the slot can handle. Also, I could not put an x16 card into a PCI slot because it would damage the motherboard. It is best to always check what you have available for a video card and consult card manufacturers to see what works with your PC.

do you need a good computer to do it
Crimson203 7 months ago
@Crimson203 It depends on what you are using the computer for and what are the requirements for running the graphics card you want to put in your computer. If you are wanting to play games or do any type of video or picture editing, then if you have an old system, the resulting performance will be poor or almost impossible to do. If you just want to work with office applications on multiple monitors for multitasking, then on a brand new system, it may come with a good video card that does this.

Does it matter which manufacturer has made the card. I mean does it matter if it's ASUS or Sapphire or Gigabyte etc.?
Box0rz 8 months ago

Box0rz 8 months ago
@Box0rz You can install more than one graphics card in your computer if your motherboard supports it. The graphic cards do not have to be the same model if you want to just add more monitors to your system. However, to get better performance from your computer, you will want to have the same model graphics cards installed in your system.

@babiesrevil Normally, you would plug in both 6-pin power connectors to the video card because without both of them connected, the fan would spin pretty high and you would get no video when you boot up the machine. sudeepdhara 8 months ago
@sudeepdhara Depending on the graphics card you purchase, you may have to upgrade your power supply if you use the card for high-end applications as newer cards need more power than what you have currently in your computer. If you do not have a PCI-Express power connector, then you can purchase a Molex-to-6-pin PCI-Express adapter cable that goes from a 4-pin Molex power connector (found on your hard drive, CD drive, or fan) to a 6-pin PCI-E power connector at a local electronics store.
dmmadmin2 8 months ago
@dmmadmin2 is that connector available..with the graphics card.....
sudeepdhara 8 months ago
@sudeepdhara That depends on the manufacturer and whether or not they supply the cable or not. Most graphics card manufacturers do not include such a connector with their graphics cards. However, you can go to your local electronics store and purchase this connector, or purchase a graphics card that will work without needing the power connector by just plugging in the card into the PCI-Express slot.

@dmmadmin2 thnxxx....man...but can u suggest me some graphics card.....which is powerful...and yet dosent need any connector...plzz...
sudeepdhara 8 months ago
@sudeepdhara If you are looking for a card, I would contact a video card manufacturer or do some research online to see what card would work best for your system. Some of the manufacturers include nVidia, ATI/AMD, ASUS, MSi, Sapphire, XFX, EVGA, Zotac, Diamond, and PowerColor to name a few.

hello!
i have a problem wait my computer hp compaq dc7600 small form factor
when i install my graphic card in the motherboard the computer is on but the tv is stay off end any time the computer is on normaly but is not on wait the graphic card is sayed this message 921-device in pciexpress slot failed to initialize.
s3aydimanar 8 months ago
@s3aydimanar I would make sure the card you are trying to put into your computer is designed for a small-form factor computer. If it does, then try to re-seat the graphics card in your computer to verify it locks into place. I would also try the video card in another computer to see if you get the same problem. If the same problem occurs on another computer, then the issue may be with the graphics card. If the card works on another computer, then there may be a problem with your system.

hi i got a Ati radeon hd 4200 intergrated graphics is that a on board graphics if so can i install a new one cause my pc allows pci cards
Darkcatcher19 8 months ago
@Darkcatcher19 You can install a new card if your computer has an available PCI-E slot, AGP slot, or PCI slot. However, the on-board graphics card that you currently have on your pc is decent from the ATI line of internal graphics cards. Depending on the manufacturer, most newer cards require a PCI-E slot and not a PCI slot. Contact the manufacturer of the graphics card you want to put in your computer and ask them if it will work or not and if it is better than what you already have.

hi i got a integrated graphics card ati radeon hd 4200 and i want to know is it a onboard graphics does that mean i cant put in a new video card?
Darkcatcher19 8 months ago
@Darkcatcher19 The Radeon HD 4200 series is an integrated graphics card series. This means the card is physically mounted as a chip onto your motherboard. Depending on the slots you have available on your motherboard, you may be able to put in a newer video card.

I have the hp workstation z200 with the graphic card: intel HD graphics. It sucks, a friend says that it is onboard, which he says means that i cant remove it, is that true?Kk
112kicker 9 months ago
@112kicker If a graphics card is on-board, then it means it is physically connected to the computer's board. This card cannot be removed since it was built that way for your HP computer. You can turn off the on-board video so that your computer does not use it if you decide to upgrade your video card. This method is called "Disabling your on-board Video" and you can take a look at our video on how to disable it in Part 2.
dmmadmin2 9 months ago
can you replace an ATI Xpress 200 On-board card? will it be good with P4@3.00Ghz?
Warfreak57 9 months ago
@Warfreak57 On-board cards cannot be physically replaced. However, you can get another video card and when you install it, Windows will replace the on-board card with the new video card you installed. If it does not for some reason, you will have to disable the on-board video in either Windows or the System BIOS. As for the processor you have, you can use it, but for higher end cards, you may need to acquire at least a dual-core processor or higher to play games or get video from your system.
dmmadmin2 9 months ago
@dmmadmin2 ok.. thanks.
Warfreak57 9 months ago
@dmmadmin2 On-board cards cannot be replaced?I'm having a problem with this because the video card I just bought only fits in the pci slot where the on-board card is.You can see the problem: you say in part 2 that if you try to turn on your computer, no picture unless you turn it back on with your on-board card, to uninstall it to to install the other card: which isn't plugged in, because it only uses the on-board pci slot. ah! How do I install a card when I can't plug it in any other slot?
keimica 8 months ago
@keimica PCI cards are expansion cards that can be removed from your computer. On-board cards are physically soldered onto the motherboard and cannot be removed. If you already have a graphics card in your PCI slot and you want to replace or upgrade that card, you can remove it. A PCI card and an on-board card (on-board chipset) are two separate cards.
dmmadmin2 8 months ago
@dmmadmin2 ...Adding onto last post, if I can't install my graphics card because it only plugs into the on-board card (which needs to be plugged in to disable itself), then I think I'm going to have to buy a new graphics card! No! I just bought a bunch of cables for it (now coming in the mail...some already here), and downloaded the driver.
keimica 8 months ago
Thank you for the three part video. It was one of the most complete all the way through. With it I was able to finish the install of a friend's new graphic card and driver. Prior to your video, I had left out the step of disabling the onboard graphics card. Thanks again.

i have bought a new graphics card, XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850, my computer doesn't have power connectors for it, what do i do now, where can i get the power connecters from?
thank you
mirnomanbaloch 10 months ago
@mirnomanbaloch If your power connections are 4-pin Molex connectors for hard drives, CD-ROM drives, and fans, then you can purchase an adapter cable at your local electronics store and convert a molex connector (4-pin) to 6-pin PCI-E power connector. One end of the adapter goes to the Molex connector on the computer and the other end of the cable will go to the 6-pin PCI-E power connector on the video card. You will need to plug in as many connectors as necessary to power the video card.
dmmadmin2 10 months ago
@dmmadmin2 my pc doesn't have any spare connectors, their all connected to something
mirnomanbaloch 10 months ago
@mirnomanbaloch If that is the case, then you will have to purchase a new power supply with connectors for your other computer parts that has 6-pin PCI-E power connectors on it to use your 5850 video card. Most new power supplies come with these connectors on them already. The box should say on it when you purchase the power supply the types of connectors available with the unit.
dmmadmin2 10 months ago
@dmmadmin2 well i have 3 spare connectors which are called, P4,P6 and P7
mirnomanbaloch 10 months ago

Richy15251 11 months ago
@Richy15251 In order to use the 6950 video card, you will need a power supply with at least 500W or more is recommended. Since power supplies have an efficiency rating on them, which is 70 - 80% and up of the maximum power output on the supply, you will need at least 700W - 750W for your power supply. The card does require more than 200W in order to run the card. Depending on the load you put on the video card, it can use up to 200 Watts when working in your computer.
dmmadmin2 10 months ago
@dmmadmin2 Thank you very much for your help. I've educated myself a lot since I made the post and I actually transplanted a 500W power supply from an older computer. That didn't work out properly and now I won't have to figure out why, I'll just get a new PSU. Thank you very much!

the 16 lane slot, my computer doesnt have one, but theres a spot where it looks like one can go, could i just buy it and put it in the designated spot or do I have to buy a whole new motherboard?
MrBlamAlmighty 1 year ago
@MrBlamAlmighty If you try to put a video card in a slot that looks like it would fit and it does not fit, you could damage your motherboard. You will want to consult your motherboard documentation or contact your computer manufacturer to see if the slot you have is the 16 lane slot or not. If the slot is not 16 lane, then you would have to purchase a new motherboard that has a PCI-Express 16 lane slot.
dmmadmin2 1 year ago
@dmmadmin2 Thanks, I thought I would need a new motherboard

@dmmadmin2 Ok well I just bought the same graphics card as you ( maybe a bit newer) would it work if I bought a 8 slot lane to 16 slot lane converter?

ok, you could ignore my last comment, I had not watched part 2/3 and din't know the computer would display anything, regardless if the card's specific drivers have not been installed.

Styleshift88 1 year ago
@Styleshift88 You can try another PCI-Express slot, if you have one available on your computer, to see if you have a bad slot. If you know of someone who has a computer that has the same slot your Zotac video card can go into, then you can test that card in your computer to see if you get the same problem. If you have another video card available, or if your on-board video still works, test this to see if it gives you video. If it does, then your system is fine and the card may have failed.

@dmmadmin2 Thank you soooo much!!! It worked!!! =)

My graphics card "revs" up and so does my processor(pentium d(dualcore) ) and does not output a signal what is wrong with my graphics card
My graphics card is a ATi Radeon HD2400XT hope you know what I mean
TechyXbox360COD 1 year ago
@TechyXbox360COD Make sure that your on-board video card is disabled, if you have it on your computer, and then plug your monitor into the Radeon video card. You may want to also try another slot if you have one available on your computer for this video card, or another computer if you have one available. The card may be failing if you have had the Radeon video card for a while because the processor is failing.
dmmadmin2 1 year ago
@TechyXbox360COD My video card was working. The next day i had no display on my monitor, i plugged my cord back into my onboard and checked my device manager, and my new video card i had installed before is no longer there. What does that mean
11solidus 1 year ago
@11solidus If the HD2400XT card no longer shows up in Device Manager, then Windows does not recognize the new video card you installed. You can try another slot in your system to put the card in, or put your card in another computer, to see if you get the same problem with video. If the card no longer gets recognized by any system, then the card has to be replaced.

I don't have a 6 pin psi connecter. Please help.
keeran50 1 year ago
@keeran50 If you are using a power supply that has only 4-pin white rectangular connectors (Molex), you would need to purchase a Molex-to-PCI-E 6-pin adapter cable in order to have a connector available for your graphics card. You can buy these at any local electronic store.
