Either way having 2 dies is sort of a disadvantage for Intel so if it wins its interesting to see.

Um not what I saw. I saw a few benchmarks that show a Core i7 920 @ 2.66GHz being about 10% faster in Crysis than a Phenom II 940 @ 3GHz.

Yea just looked up the benchmarks on TomsHardware. Thats where I got the figures from. Look at it if ya don't believe me.

BTW, a Core i7 in a multi GPU setup scales about 35% or better FPS in games than any other quad core.

Yea right. Not really possible. Only CPU I have seen do 5Ghz on air was Intels Terascale, 80 core CPU, but is not mainstream production yet.

And as for the 3DMark record, whoopde freaking do. BTW its not held by AMD. Look it up. Its held by Intels Core i7 965 that was only OCed to 5.2GHz. They have 1K higher score.

And 3DMark means nothing. Its all synthetic.

Actually look it up. Intels Terascale can do 1 TFlop @ 2.5GHz while using 62w. They have yet to release it though. Which sucks.

Google "Terascale". Its a real CPU that Intel developed and tested. Can do the same job as 130 modern CPUs while using only a fraction of the power.

What? Dude know the facts. Intel is a damn green company. They have the most efficient 45nm FAB in the world, have stopped using lead in their products and a new AMD Phenom II uses about the same power as a equivalent 65nm Core 2 Quad. It doesn't use less than a 45nm Core 2 Quad though.

No one would use MS software in the first place, what they are showing here is power use. Now I have work for level3 and we have always used Sun/AMD system and the reason is CPU clock pre watt. The easy way to look at this, use less watts to do more. If you can save 50 watts per server from 260 box. Over 1500 Boxes, that a big saving to get same work load. That saving of 75Kw/hr, seeing it 8.14kwh cent here, that saving of 6$ and hour or 24/30days $4,320 a month of savings

vista runs only that good as the user is intelligent. on vista i get zero percent load when on the desktop. 10%when looking that vid.

with sp1 the load of vista was similar to xp.

now i've installed sp2beta and it's even lower.

and my cpu is quiet a piece of shit, no high end stuff.

and by the way: no admin would install vista for server work, they use server 2008 which is even more efficent than the desktop equivalents.
