@kevin989able No. But would highly recommend backing up all of the data on your microSD periodically anyway just in case it's lost or corrupted somehow.

You may need to update the OS version on your microSD before or after doing this fix.

@poogieh69 Ask your friends or your friends friends if you could just borrow their DS for a few minutes. Maybe try going to your favorite game store and ask to try a DS while you upgrade your card. It doesn't change anything on the DS, just the firmware on the Acekard.

@Pixiez216 Take your microSD card out of your Acekard and put it into your computer. Try making a backup of the files on your microSD just in case you might want to restore your saved games. Reformat your micro SD. Re-download the AKAIO OS files from Acekard and copy them to your micro SD. Copy them to your micro SD and put it back in your Acekard. See if things come up now.

Help! This has something to do with acekard 2i! When I put my micro SD reader with the micro sd in it. The computer says it does not know what the device is! Another strange thing is that it is VERY hot when i take it out...

@starguy246 Sounds like a problem with either the card or your reader. If the card works when you put it in something else, like your Acecard, I'd suspect the reader. If the card doesn't work in anything, maybe you need a new card.

That's why I like to make a backup of the card once in a while. Hopefully you at least have all of the files on your computer when you first setup your card.

So, will this AceKard 2i work on the DSi XL as well?

I ask because I have (4) kids - each with their own DSi and/or DSi XL.

That's a lot of dough that I have invested in games, etc.

Not to mention - we bought a ton of GameBoy Advanced games back when they were using a GBA - games which are now collecting dust!

So is this a good investment for me to purchase cards?

@esjayay 1.4 E is 1.4 in Europe. OK? 1.4 A is 1.4 in Australia and 1.4 U is American. They are all 1.4 and there is no difference besides country of origin.

Question! Are you using AKAIO? If you aren't then your anti-piracy problems cannot be solved. Also Wii Connectivity with the DS Will be solved with AKAIO when it's at least v1.5 or higher.

@mariomaruf Use a DS, DSLight, or DSi that's not yet at 1.4. If you don't have one, borrow one for a few minutes from a friend. If you're ordering a new Acekard, you can order it "pre-flashed" to work with 1.4.

@chadowofdarkness The Acekard 2i will support up to a 32GB card. Just take out your microSD, copy everything off to a backup folder, redownload and reload either the Acekard or AKAIO OS from scratch. See if you still have the problem.

I have 2 dsi one's on firmware 1.2 and the other is on 1.4. I used the 1.2 to updated my acekard to 1.4. Acekard boots up on the 1.4, but now the 1.2 dsi won't recognize the acekard, the logo in the menu screen doesn't even pop up. Anyone have this issue... where it works on 1.4 dsi, but not 1.2?

I wish I could tell my family why piracy is wrong because my mom downloads a bunch of sims 2 expansion packs off of Pirate Bay, which is ILLEGAL UNLESS YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL COPIES, and my brother downloads GBA games illegally on his PSP. I thought the file had to be on it's own xD, good thing I looked for a video first, now I know I still need to keep the GUI on. Although I do have a couple of questions, how long did it take to update? Long enough to need the DS to be plugged in? And also, does this work for 1.4E? You showed it working for 1.4U, and I assume there is no serious difference, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks in advance!

@XP105 I think it took under 15 minutes. So you don't need it plugged in. Although it's a good idea.

And it should work with any 1.4 DSi firmware.

@hybridnysten It should come with the original. You just need to load this new firmware before updating your DSi to 1.4. Also be sure to load the latest files from the Acekard site onto your SD card. You're dealing with two things here. The boot firmware that you're loading from here, and the OS that's on the microSD.

Go to the official website and download the fix from there. If THAT doesn't work: keep the _ak2 folder from the official site, and use the nds file from the sidebar.

The link in the sidebar doesn't have the _ak2 folder, and that's why you're having this problem.
