I lived in Abderdeen. I can confirm, Scottish people are mental. Yes, they are friendly, until they drink, (and they drink a fuck of a lot - almost an unbelievable amount), at which point you are never more than 2 words from being headbutted in the face.

Hey, I lived up near Rubislaw. Loved Aberdeen. Loved the Scots. I did see quite a bit of general aggro on drinking nights though - more than here and more than in Europe.

People in NYC don't really do drinking and brawling. You can end up in a rough neighbourhood and have a gun pulled on you, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was 20 year ago.
