  • yeah, i get 60 without fraps as well, great performance for a 200 dollar card. (thats wut i got mine for, they are less now)

  • woooow

1:20 2 chainsaw in one enemy!!!!

  • lol my friend and i have done that a lot

its also funny when one person saws and right beforethe enemy dies another person starts sawing-THEY START SAWING THE AIR!!!

  • however, this card is a monster!!

  • what chapter is this? is there like another one on the PC version?

  • i get the same quality and frames on my 8800 gt.

    btw its 670 mhz.

  • Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor

GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

    CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel

    COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro1000 RS-A00-EMBA 1000W

    ATI 4850X2 1gb GDDR3 Crossfire

i get 62 FPS on this because of the stupid FRAME LOCK... but hey im not complaining :P

  • Can i play this with "radeon 9550 256mb 128bit??" i can play unreal tournament 3 ok kinda!! cod4 and fallout 3 don't work on my pc tho.

  • probably not m8

  • lol i finished dl it buddy and it works.. looks pretty shitty tho!!

  • insane is easy

  • PLAY THIS ON INSANEx2 MOD I HAVENT EVEN GOT PAST THE FIRST LEVEL btw good videos i looked at your other ones and i rate 5 star and i alos see your a amd fan YAY

  • wow, you mean, if the graphic-card is not powerful enough, the unreal engine just uses more of the cpu, if avaible, to get more frames?

wow, that's what i call efficient usage of pc. :)

some games run with a 2 ghz cpu but need a geforce 7800 GTX or something to run... <.<

    fuckass...

    i love that game! :)

    gore all the way xD

  • Hmmm? The good thing with the Unreal engine is how it utilizes next to all the cream out of your system and make the performance actually make up to it.

If the hardware isn't bottlenecked too significantly (such as ages processor and a solid videocard or vice versa) it will stress the system to the maximum, but it will never compensate the lack of processing power with extra load on the videocard.

It's that kind of complexity that makes consoles shine, you don't need to think about it.

  • quick question, does gears of war STILL require xbox live payments to play it online? (fucking bs)

  • On Xbox 360, yes.

    On the PC, no.

Windows Live is now a free service in it's lack of interest from developers and users.

Xbox Live (Gold) will at this time continoue to have a fee.

  • Extremely good to know. Thanx for the heads up.

  • I LOVE THIS NASTY FUCKING GORE!!!

  • hi i have this setup

    amd 5600+ 2.8ghz dual core

    2gb ram 667mhz

    and Asus m2n-vm dvi mobo

Q1: will this card run good under these settings?

Q2: the pcie x16 clip at the end is broken but my old card still works (7300gt) is this a problem?

Q3: how big PSU do i need?

Q4: do you have any other tip?

    thnQs

  • ye lol theres a hole new bit to the last act

  • What the hell is there more levels on the pc version of this game?

  • hey tip: the way u said u get 60fps solid u need to go into ur gpu setting and turn off vertual sync or whatver it is .. because it will be keeping a few of ur games to that limit :)

  • Nope. Some applications are hard-coded to run at a certain frame-rate. Vsync is usually 30FPS or at best 1/2xV-Hz

  • hey m8.soon i buy HD4870 X2 you know wich one is Fastest HD4870 Edition now?

    Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 X2

    Asus Radeon HD4870 X2

    Club3D Radeon HD4870 X2 123

    HIS Radeon HD 4870 X2

    PowerColor Radeon HD 4870 X2 2 GB

    MSI Radeon HD 4870 X2

  • there all the same only the stickers are different

  • rotfl all the same dude

    by the cheapest one

  • i just love the chainsaw

  • our eyes can detect only 30fps.. so why do we need fps more than 30? lol

  • Dont believe that old myth.

    You're notice a significant difference between 30FPS and 50FPS, or 40FPS to 70FPS.

  • k which 1 should i get?

    1.intel core 2 duo(3GHz)

    or

    2.intel core 2 quad Q6600(2.4GHz)

  • Get the one with higher frequency unless you're into overclocking and/or Multimedia, rendering or other multi-core friendly applications.

  • the games seems more smoother with 30 vs 50 fps

  • It's simple my apparent console pussy. The higher your frame rate the better registration you get and in return your hit box becomes more accurate. In turn you will hit what your aiming at more than if your FPS was at 30 as opposed to 250. And the Human eye can detect iterations in an image or video up to 220FPS. It's just that after 24.3FPS it appears fluid. So while you may not be able to tell if it's running at 65FPS or 300FPS your computer can. Plus you really only care about it online.

  • First off - what are you talking about? This is nothing new.

    Second - what's your point?

  • I was replying to leonzhell. Talking about the old console pussy defense that (man, I wish I could play at that res or play with those graphics) but no they just come up with something obscure like well all you need is 30FPS. LMAO.

  • we need only 60fps..

  • Well... 30FPS is for most games working more than perfect, just like at Gears of War, Tiberium Wars, Halo, etc.

  • well it was 60 for me :)

  • True about that, most game's don't even run the quad core. But for me I need it, as I do run multiple servers whilst playing the game. I did my research, and really having a quad core means no difference. Different GFX Cards and cooling make the FPS boost I hear. I could be wrong o_0.

  • PC's alright. But like I say: "You're fucking lucky to even have a computer." A quad core would double your FPS (maybe), hehe. Listen man your rig is great. Anything that plays Gears of war max settings is good in my book.

  • Quad-Cores are today the multimedia and server guys best friend. For games a Quad-Core is at this time not fancy at all as there's no truly "Quad-threaded" applications.

  • Yup, no need for a quad yet. But, if you are upgrading and have enough cash for a decent quad, you might want to get one because games are now being coded for quads (e.g. Alan Wake).

  • just got the 4870 about a month or so ago and was tinkering with the idea of getting gears of war. is it any good?

  • One of the best games I've played. I can't really say much more than that, if you want details there's a bizillion of reviews out there that can fill you up on the details.

  • how many people online though

  • lots but for full online play u have to pay for windows live =/

  • whaaaat???? thats bullshit that sucks im never getting the game.

  • not anymore u dont! live for pc users is free now as nobody bought it. Microsoft gave in i guess

  • really!?!?!? gotta go reinstall GoW!

  • Samme pc som jeg har jo :O

Men du hadde nå litt overkill PSU. Hehe.

    Bruker en 550 watt jeg.

  • dude this is gears of war 2 how in the hell did you get ur hands on this?

  • Aah, no this is the PC version of the game, it includes a new act/chapter and some new stuff. Nothing to get too excited about, I had a better experience on the Xbox quite frankly. I pre-ordered Gears of War 2 Collectors Edition a few weeks back, to make sure I can get the stuff on launch day.

  • hehe jag sitter o lirar singleplayern på xbox 360 nu :p

  • Its locked at 60fps because of vertical sync

  • Vertical sync is 30FPS. 60FPS is the overall frame-rate cap of the application.

  • this games easy to run...i run it on medium settings with my x1550 PCI!

  • listen i have the samd card

i tried on min settings and max settings its always at 62

i think it can get to even 100 but i dont know why its locked

    btw

    have you tried assassin's creed?

  • i think there all locked because mine is locked at 60fps on oblivion and all my games.

  • but i think its locked at 60fps max because if it goes higher so does the temp its already running hot enought to cook an egg on it.. hopefully rivatuner will come out soon and we can tune the fan speed.

  • you can

    go to

    c:users:"username":local:ati..something like that

    edit profile.xml

    theres a guied in youtube

    search for it

  • i cant it dosnt excist

  • i go to users etc and all i get is my documents file and public..

  • it could be the fact that i have Windows Vista 64bit treats everything different.

  • No, there is no thing as temperature-controller performance. The temperature of the card will not rise when given ability to render more frames, perhaps in theory but not in practice. The 60FPS cap is application-controlled and is supposed to be like that.

  • its locked because no monitor can display higher then 60fps(accept 120hz ones) when displaying more then 60fps, a 60hz monitor(most lcd) the screen with update each section at different times, causing verticle tearing. look up pics to see.

  • Lol i love comments like this one, that card isnt even out yet so yah, it will be faster..

will it be as fast as 4870x2? i think not.

ATi/AMD has a new lineup aswell so this will be very interesting..

Graphics cards is cheap (cheaper) again and we can thank AMD for that, the green giant has competition now and they know it..

  • dont be a dick.

  • I have the same psu as you, and in a couple of weeks hopefully gpu as well.

  • are you using any AA while playing?

  • holy shit dude ur pro

  • holly shit son! loved the chainsaw double-team there at 1:20. awesome system! gratz!

  • Sorry for double post, but are you playing with a mouse or a controller on your pc?

  • Mouse and Keyboard, but I also play the Xbox360 version and there it's quite obviously with controller - I think both work equally well, with a slight upper hand for the PC input methods.

  • Oke thanks.

  • can you change to first person view or do u always run arround like that?

  • alwayz like that....

  • How do you like your MSI K9A2 Platinum 790FX/SB600 mobo because I just ordered it with my new videocard and memory and I want to know how you like it.

  • Not showing anything really. Any average graphics card an play this game smoothly.

  • Not at highest settings, 1680x1050 at 60FPS solid. This video doesn't give the actual performance any justice as the Unreal 3 engine utilizes every inch of the computer (as in; extremely well optimized) and therefor once Fraps is active processor power is drawn back from the game to work on the capture. My previous 2900XT could handle this game perfect as for about 40FPS solid, while this card doesn't have any hiccups or anything and capping the in-game framerate cap.

  • I checked all that a numerus times... but the now that U mentioned, my cooler runs pretty fast, and it's more than loud

  • I have a strange question. How many led's are turned on at the back of your card?

  • During startup I got three indicating things are starting up - but during operation there's none. If you're having problems with LEDs turned on then that will indicate certain problems such as insignificant power or power adapter(s) being installed or such.

  • I have 3 led' on, the first, third, and forth. But I can't get a picture on my screen. I am going crazy over here. Tnx for replying so fast.

  • Check connectors, make sure you have both PCIE-connectors (six-pin [2*3 pin]) connected into the videocard and make sure it has full contact with all the lanes by the PCIE socket. And does the fan spin up 100% constantly? If it spins up like insane that's also a sign of a problem, I've noticed this especially with the power connectors not being connected properly.

  • Hello BorkaBonum, I have a HD4870 myself and i noticed 4 red leds on the card. But they only led up while booting up. Do they all need to light up or? Cause i only have like 3 i think. and i didn't really noticed game isues yet. UT3 runs perfectly though ;) so this game won't be a problem i think. BTW, nice video.

  • Igur with sum games CF will turn better but u cant play some games totally and som games will go worse

  • Those games having a negative effect during Crossfire is rather few (same goes to SLi) - and all Unreal 3 games have a incredible scaling rate, with many products scaling close to 100% in Multi-GPU solutions. If you're having problems with certain applications you can always turn Crossfire off - but still, those problems are quite rare for modern applications.

  • my 4850 will be here in a few days..iam getting another next week for CF

  • How about getting HD4870 IN CF? 2x.

  • go with 2 4850 you save $200 and you get 1-4 fps difference in alot of games

  • Crossfire HD4870 is overall alot stronger than Crossfire HD4850, but is also more expensive leaving a less pretty price/performance but still better than all Nvidia offerings at the moment. Either will work, Crossfire HD4850 stays true to Price/Performance while HD4870 in Crossfire leaves a overall more potent level of performance but suffering a higher price-tag.

  • I have 8800GTS 640MB lol :(...

worth getting HD4870? I think i will wait more.

  • The 8800GTS 640MB has been old for some time when it comes to performance, you'll se a huge improvement with this card over your current.

  • Or you could wait for the HD 4870 X2 and save $100 while getting a 15% increase in performance over two HD 4870's in Crossfire :)

  • Having the HD4870X2 performing +15% over Crossfire HD4870 is impossible unless AMD increase the clock-per-chip performance quite a bit - which can just as well be achieved with a Crossfire solution. The HD4870 (or rumored HD4890) is still not announced fully and price- and performance might differ today announced might differ from the actual product. I wouldn't be too hyped on it before I've seen it.

  • I'd say grab a GTX 260, They're rapidly dropping in price and are getting some major driver updates, they require less power. Generate less heat, and are therefore more reliable that these cards. Some people have already made threads about how their 4870's have overheated and artifacted. I'd say grab a GTX 260/280 and just enjoy the feeling of being futureproofed. Also, the 8800GTS 640 is still a good card. And Borkabonum your CPU is old too.

  • I'd say not. I'd say grab two HD 4850s and get way better performance.

I bet the X2 will blow the GTX 280 out of the water. You watch.

  • GTX260 and GTX280 is a joke and only renders the AMD offerings even further appealing. The GTX200-serien doesn't generate less heat, if you knew what you were talking about you would know that's a driver issue - 8.6 does not support HD4000-series therefor PowerPlay will be established first with 8.7 making the downclock during idle work. GTX260 is only dropping in price becuase it's the only thing Nvidia got to compete with HD4870, and even that fails them.

  • Can't wait for my two Sapphire HD 4870's :D

  • can't wait to order 4870 :) i should be able to score 15k+^^

    E8400 4.0ghz on 880gt i scored 13.4k.

I want 4870!!!!then my PC will own :D

8800gt kinda makes my PC weak lol

  • This is soo good BorkaBonum!! Thanx again :D I've just bought the HIS HD4870, but its not in stores before 08.07 so I have to wait som time :P But then I will upload performance videos too! Current rig: Asus P5E, X38 Q6600 4GB OCZ *HIS HD 4870* Thermaltake 750W Toughpower Modular Asus VW222U 22' Widescreen Cant wait to test HD4870 :D
  • Wow just imagine when gears of war 2 played 1680x1050 resolution

  • wow

    great video

  • Thanks :)

You play with AA in DX10?

    or DX9 no AA?

  • "DirectX9" therefor no xAA filters.

  • I LOVE THIS GAMES

    IS GREAT

  • Yeah, it's one of the best games I've played, I just hope the second game will be as solid - so they don't get too excited and add too much stuff.
