Very interesting, but I think the level is far too complicated to make it interesting to watch multiple run throughs. It would be interesting to see one with say all the marbles running down a sieve or something.
....very interesting, I wonder where the different possibilities come from....is there an injected delta somewhere, so that every time it is set up that the balls have a +/- coefficient of friction, or sides, or preset position, or something, or is a machine based randomness added at every run?
This is where my knowledge falls short. The only thing I know is that in the earlier builds (including this one) there was some variation in the calculations, though I have no idea why or how. The position of the marbles where pre-determined by myself in the world editor, the global friction is -1 so make the marbles slide on the icy road rather than roll.
In the more recent builds physics are fully network-able so the variations are now gone.
how i dont understand i cant do anything else than walk around doing nothing else than shoot i cant spwan objects i cant get to maps with props or anything help halp halp!
Google "Terathon" (without the quotes). Click the C4 Engine logo on the top left of the page. Click Download on the far right of the page.
The main paragraph at the top of the page mentions about the World Editor. Pressing Crtl+O etc. When your finished reading that paragraph I suggest you click the link at the end of that paragraph titled "World Editor Overview".
It costs roughly $200 for a standard license. Though you can use the demo, it comes with all of the features of the license version besides the source code.
A easier way to think of it is by taking just the number, 5200 is less than 8500, so then the 8500 is bettter. Also it goes by the letters; GT, GTS, GTX, and then GX2.
I think the 5000 series in graphics cards where made 6 years ago. While the 8 series was only 2 years ago.
1. The engine is very stable. Just that I push my CPU over the limit with over 1000 rigid bodies.
2. I prefer the level editor over Blender and Cinema 4D. It is the only editor I know where stacks can take only a few seconds instead of becoming a mess (like in Blender). The lighting is great and Eric will be implementing Global Illumination and Ambient Occlusion. You should read through the official forums because they know a lot more than me.
You can download a free demo from Terathon Software's website, or you can purchase the engine for $200 (which includes free updates for life.) As for commercial games, as long as your not involved with a professional-funded development studio, you can use it anyway you want - as long as you don't release the source code.
Wow, he is a major dumbass, can you show me where he posted that? I can do a comparasion between C4 and CE2 but I do not have a game that uses UE3, however I might be buying Gears Of War for PC soon.
I will make one as soon as I get Sony Vegas working again.
But still I need to get Sony Vegas working, this is my video editor and I cannot afford to use the dreadful Windows Movie Maker, though I can get a lot of gameplay prepared. By the way I did click Reply on wxyztu's comment and it did not act as a reply, instead it was posted at the top so I do not know what happened there.
Because I still need to learn a whole lot more about each engine I might not make a video after all. There is no point making a video on something that I am not entirely sure of.
Yes, if you go on the official website (google C4 Engine) and click Download, there is a demo you can try it out for free. Also there will be a newer demo release soon with some more levels showing what is possible inside of C4.
C4 is compatible with loads of genres such as FPS, TPS, RTS, and racing will be possible once the PhysX integration now supports vehicles.
Well, of course CryEngine 2 and Unreal Engine 3 are better in some ways but C4 is very affordable compared to the others and there are things in C4 that are better than the others. Such as I have heard that UE3 has not got any true dynamic shadows while C4 does, I am not really sure if I understood that correct.
For starters I can easily say that C4 will have better physics than CE2. If you Google "AGPhysics" (the first term) you can read my blog post comparing CryEngine 2 to C4.
Can you do a video comparison between the unreal engine 3, cryengine 2 and c4 engine? because some dumbass says that c4 engine is shit and is a ps1 engine!

Yes, a lot of games use PhysX for the physics engine. If you google search "PhysX Games List" you will be able to see what uses it.

From looking around will suit me best but can ask you some things first
1. is it stable(from the reviews it looks like it)
2. how is the level edtior and how good is the lighting
and is there any game that really showcasses its graphical capability and is there another for gameplay

yeah he posted it at a vid called ''Unreal Engine 3 vs Cryengine 2'' His name is wxyztu in a recent comment!
Michformer 4 years ago
I left him a reply :P,
IMO by the way I would say that UE3 is better, love there PhysX integration. However graphically CE2 wins most of the time.
AquaGeneral 4 years ago
Please! Do a vid that compares the engines. Unreal we will leave it because since you dont have it.

Michformer 4 years ago
Okay, so you did click the first link on Google when you searched "C4 Engine"?
After that you then click the Download page, download the demo based on your OS.
And yeah it is for Mac, Windows and PS3.

FRAPS takes off half the frame-rate just about.
I have made a few little improvements to the map which adds about 5fps more.
Soon I will be adding a video showing some of the newest features of the level.
