The no disqualifications rule was just the icing on the cake. Chris Benoit for example had many matches in ECW where he didn't even use weapons.

Since all comments are arguments over WWE vs TNA, how about I state the obvious:
TNA is better than WWE but couldn't get more rating than its rival.
WWE became marketing whores for little kids forgetting the roots that made it awesome years ago.
ECW is indeed a classic, but is being critizised for being garbage and a way to gain shock values.
But in the end, we can all agree that Japanese wrestling is more awesome than WWE and TNA (since most of the hardcore stuff there came from ECW).
