  • CHRISTOPHE CLUGSTON IS A FRAUD. HE STEALING THE IDEAS OF OTHER MENS SELLING THEM AS HIS OWNS.

  • @jshowa2 If it is important to you then you can either learn Spanish or pay for a professional to give you translated script. That goes for all of the monolingual English speakers here.

  • @christopheclugston I'm in the middle of learning Spanish but haven't nailed it down which is unfortunate. I really want to see this video. Guess I'll wait

  • rea! Butt the audio in Spanish should be worked. The translation is often not as good as it should be. There are cases of mistranslations and omissions. I want to watch it just in English.

  • for fuck sake. people dont realize how annoying it is when someone is speaking over the person who speaks your language.

  • *Afirmación, proposición, argumento, NO "reclamación".

  • There is not a version without the simultaneous Spanish translation?

Any way thanks for the upload.

  • Oh Ye of little faith! BELIEVE in the one true "CHRIST", "CHRIST"-opher Hitchens, that is!

  • the moderator claimed that Hitchens is agnostic... just wanted to point that out...

  • @BrotherOmi It's nothing new for an atheist or a theist to use a position of agnosticism for a debate. I know Russell did it - it's the easiest to defend debate-wise and really the easiest to have the most objectivity.

  • @BrotherOmi In Latin cultures many people do not really differentiate between agnosticism and atheism, the words are interchangeable, both simply mean "one who does not believe in God". I'm saying this because of my perspective here in Brazil, here when I say "eu sou agnóstico" I usually have to make clear the definition of my stance, and since this seems to also be the case with this mexican guy, I extrapolated it to apply to mexican culture as well, which seems plausible to me, I guess.

  • is there a life Before death? hay una vida Antes de la muerte? el mejor comentario de la charla

  • Dinesh D'Souza,excelente intervención y debate.

  • Thanks to Hitchens talking about exploding stars, now I can stop and imagine various stars exploding at any moment across the universe.

  • English, do you speak it. what does marcelus wallace look like? what did dennet just say?

  • @capitalcontested what minute:second?

    Saludos.

  • Parabéns aos mexicanos. O México sempre na vanguarda do pensamento latino americano. Parabéns.

  • Is there a version without translation?

  • navinjohnson90, I just want tae say i pity ye very much, but not tae worry, its not yer fault, what can we expect from such an ignorant yankee as yerself , ye misrepresent the english-speaking world, please do not tell me ye really think ye are more valuable as a human being just because ye faintly attempt tae speak the ENGLISH language, which ye dont by the way, at best ye speak american, but not ENGLISH! I would recommend ye tae learn more languages, and of course finish learning english.

  • Comment removed

  • Well if the video isn't going to be in English, don't make the title in English, so I will know not to click on it.

  • @NavinJohnson90 the title is in spanish

  • @nadahistorical Well it's also in English.

  • @NavinJohnson90 how do you say color in english?

  • @nadahistorical That's pretty irrelevant. And racist.

  • @NavinJohnson90 you call color, color in english. do you know how to say banana in english?

  • @nadahistorical Clearly I do, because English is the superior language.

  • @NavinJohnson90 errr...okay then, opinions are fine :)

  • @NavinJohnson90 im sorry ,but i have to replay to your ignorance ,,,,english is not my first language by the way ....as i was saying every educated person knows that there is one superior language and that is clearly not the limited language of english , but the greek language ,and you should also know that there are at list three other languages that are more popular then english in the world economically speaking ,,,dont be a stupid north american ,and inform your self ....

  • @gjkhkl Ha! Don't make me laugh. If Greek is superior to English, how come Greece isn't the world's police?

  • @NavinJohnson90 ....and America is.

Obviously, there's something that occurs in the brain as a result of speaking English natively, that makes someone more valuable as a human being.

  • @NavinJohnson90 First. Greece is not the world´s police, you are right because the world has no police, did you know that? Second. What exactly occurs in the brain as a result of speaking english? Did you know that the history has been written in german, russian, greek, french, spanish (and hundreds of other languages) and then translated into english? Read a fucking history book to know more about Aristotle, René Descartes, Immanuel Kant, Miguel de Cervantes, etc. who didn´t speak any english.

  • 5. Mostly atheist, are against GOD's morality and justice but never refer the same to other candidate: satan.

    6. Bible maintans evolution after creation, earth have billions of years etc.

    Atheism is a dead concept.

  • @CMVD777 Dead concept? i think christianity has been dead since the uprising of modern science, religion has lost the argument on allmost everyarea of science.

  • 3. Blasphemies: if anybody will do it, is puniched very soon and anybody is free to try it, even right now! This one can come immediatly or later and it doesn't mean death or going to hospital (but can also happen).

    4. In Bible, we find two (2) candidates to be called GOD, but atheists are arguing just with ONE,not with other pretendent.

  • God exist! evidences:

    1. In Bible we find a lot of prophecies which happened and are happening, examples: vatican, midle east, united states, new order etc.

    2. If anybody will follow what God asks (ex: praying), everybody will have whatever they want (ask). Note:Praying in a right form, following the INSTRUCTIONS in the Bible (keeping the 10 commandments - including keeping the Saturday as the 7th day etc.).

  • Terrible translation.

    Pésima traducción.

  • But I honestly think that the popularity of one language need not threaten one's native tongue. The people can still keep their native language alive. English should not be treated as a superior tongue, but as a means of allowing the different people to communicate.

  • @kusalaviro u piece of shit!!!!just because u dont have the intellectual faculties to learn other language, does not not mean other languages should be phased out....ENGLISH cant be express certain expression or feeling which other languages do it beautifully....

  • @charmme1 You're just jealous that you can't express yourself well in a REAL language like mine...

  • Some people hate the fact that English is so widespread and not their native tongue.

  • Some people just hate!

  • some people just hate, don't they jason?.........

Hitchens domina otra vez!! I like this, but my first language=english, second=italian.. some words were hard for me..

  • Today is the birthday of L. L. Zamenhof, the man who invented Esperanto.

  • Good thing i'm Honduran living in Canada so i know Spanish and English (= LOL buddy two comments under me is a gimp

  • Chauvinist, the problem with people like you is that you can take cheap shots and you let your ego cloud rational thought. That is why your only use is to take cheap shots at people. Doing the right thing takes nobility, which is not a part of your nature.

  • And, Chauvinist, for your information, an attempt was made to create a global language. It is called Esperanto, but it never became popular. It was because English became widespread due to Britain and later the USA. But neither did you, or any sizeable chunk of mandarin speakers, or hindi-speakers, russioans, Nigerians, Malays, Native Americans, etc., took the time to learn it. So why don't you learn Esperanto as a "second language" so that your ego isn't hurt.

  • So if you can do something to help me understand this conference, do so. Don't make stupid arguments.

  • But in your silly chauvinistic mind the thought never made a dent that even though an uneducated mandarin speaker wouldn't be benefitted by either a dubbed or a non-dubbed version, an educated mandarin speaker who knew English would. After seeing the video this man could post a comment in Mandarin, which would be understood only by Mandarin speakers, or he could post one in English that would be understood by an English- speaking Bhutanese. And THAT is the argument, my dear Chauvinist.

  • Also, when you ask me to "learn another language" you really mean Spanish. I don't believe you care about any language but Spanish; and you use the term "another language" to hide your true thoughts.

  • You ask me to learn a second language. The fact is knowing Mandarin won't help me understand this dubbing. All your arguments are negative in nature and are meant to waste everyone's time. It is easier to post a non-dubbed version of this debate than my attempting to learn Spanish, which would take months. (CONTD...)

  • However, when it comes to ideas, I believe an effort should be made to translate and ensure that the maximum number of people can understand the ideas, even if the original program was for Spanish audiences. It is what any honourable person should do. (CONTD...)

  • If it is an argument for spanish dubbing that there is more Spanish speakers than English speakers why isnt it dubbed in Mandarin fucking dumbasses??

BTW english version sucks I cannot hear a word even on max volume

  • What you should do is post a version of the talks without dubbing, but with Spanish subtitles if you deem it necessary. That way the rest of the world can understand what the speakers are saying in their own words. Of course, there may have been speakers that spoke in neither Spanish nor in English. But that cannot be helped.

  • Besides how much effort would it take to post a non-dubbed version?

  • You can suggest the person that post this video whatever you want but the reality is that the conference was held in Mexico, and that is why it is in Spanish, when the conference is held in USA is in English when it is in Germany in German. Just like the movies! So I think you should stop been upset about it and just write to the person to tell him/her that you are interested in a English version so stop your demands it is kind of rude you know.

  • The fact that people give an argument stating that many people don't speak English is just a silly argument. In this conference people were called from all over the world, but many did speak in English anyway. And if you are so concerned about the non-Spanish world understanding the debates, why don't you post a dubbing in everyone of the foreign languages of the world!

  • Here is a list of the major speakers:1. Mandarin 885 million speakers

    2. Spanish 332 million speakers

    3. English 322 million speakers

    4. Bengali 189 million speakers

    5. Hindi 182 million speakers

    6. Portuguese 170 million speakers

    6. Russian 170 million speakers

    8. Japanese 125 million speakers

    9. German 98 million speakers

    10. Wu 77 million speakers

  • That's people BORN with the language you idiot! You should instead count how many people have english as a secondary language. Like me....i speak swedish and english!

  • Ahh....the sound of a guy loosing an argument! Isn't it nice!? ;)

  • Good that i am a peruvian living in Sweden and speak english as well! :)

  • There are many people who don't understand English, I agree; but neither do they understand Spanish. As far as India and China are concerned you can check TED where a conference was given about how people there are learning English. Now people may not understand English, but they certainly don't understand Spanish.

  • What a great way to limit these discussions to only Spanish speakers! the speakers talk in English, but no one can understand them as someone has decided to block them by bawling in Spanish.

If this discussion is only for Spanish speakers why is the name of this video in English?

  • Well the conference was done in Mexico so they are translating for Spanish speaking people. I think it is normal if you go to Germany they will do it in German.

  • The answer is to post a non-dubbed video in addition to the dubbed one. I believe that is not unreasonable.

  • You can niecely suggest it but that is all, your postings are kind of rude demanding that it must be in English, the conference was done in Mexico hence it is in Spanish and I speak English and Spanish so I don't care what language it is. Maybe if you learned a second language will be a reasonable request too.

  • All I am asking is that a non-dubbed version be posted. And in your posts you try to pretend that english is not the de facto global language: that is called jealousy.

  • You tube is to share videos, if the video is dubbed so be it. Do not watch it and end of the story or even better learn a second language.

  • Your first argument was that this is meant for Spanish audiences. If that is so than your second argument about the world being full of non-English speaking people is pointless as many non-Spanish speaking people ignorant of English will never understand this dubbing.(CONTD...)

  • Secondly, English is a language taught to educated people all around the world as it is a de facto global language, no doubt the result of USA's and Britain's dominance of the world at various times.

You are an example of this as you know English and I know English, but I don't know Spanish.(CONTD...)

  • So to communicate with people of various nationalities, I would be most benefited by knowing English other than Spanish. It is because of English that Indians, Chinese, Europeans, Africans, etc., can post comments on Youtube and be understood by others around the world. (CONTD...)

  • Your point was that this is meant for Spanish audiences. But that is not the end of the matter. If someone posts a video of his vacation, it is not up to us to demand a translation from this person's native tongue to English: it can only be a request.(CONTD...)

  • Jasonstarwalker, Your comments about the English language are quite correct. In fact, as we move toward a 'Type one' society, English will no doubt be the dominate language of the planet (however, people will probably speak their own language(s) as well).

  • I am glad that you see my point. My point is not that English should be spoken . My point is that we are fortunate that there is a language taught to most educated people in the world that we can learn, and so we can communicate. That language happens to be English. Some people do not like that. THAT is silly.

  • @Jasonstarwalker ffffffffffff

  • @Jasonstarwalker "Secondly, English is a language taught to educated people all around the world "

Thats not entirely true, since here in germany for example you can choose if you want to learn English or French as a second language. It is true that English is THE language to learn, since it will help you the most in your future life (not always, but most likely). What im trying to say is that there are other languages like French or Spanisch that are spoken around the world, not only Eng.

  • @dietermauer I agree. Actually the best solution is the one that is going to come in the near future. When Youtube shall install tools to allow us to hear dubbed versions on demand, we should be able to watch and understand speakers whose languages we do not speak. Meanwhile, I think if people all around the world were to accept English as the language to speak, we should all benefit from it.

  • @anniedec20 Not everyone speaks both languages that you do, which is obviously why you don't care. For your information, not everyone learns Spanish as a second langauge, so maybe you should get out more around the world and spare us your hypocritical arrogant remarks.

  • Ah and the title is not in English Debate and Vs are two spanish words that happen to be the same in English probably because the latin root.

  • I don't know where these morons who say that there are more Spanish speakers than English speakers get their data from. They should omit Brazil which speaks Portugese(200 mill. people)

If not, then include the Philippines(100 mill.) and Nigeria(150 mill) as English speaking countries.

Excelente material!

  • El Gran Eskeptico! Ese va a ser mi nobre nueva!

  • Holly fuckin shit. 2 hours to kill.

  • Goddamn voice over.

Shut up lady, I can't understand a thing they're saying. =P Too good for subtitles, are we? ;)

  • Theirs an English version you know.

  • The audio is really low, though. All the speakers are in english, that what matters anyway. :)

  • vaya vaya vaya muy buen debate doy un 10, i still 10, men's awesome,

  • Finally we have it in English version!

  • Thank god!

    hehehe

  • Check out video id -hnqo4_X7PE - it's without dubbing.

  • NO but the ORIGINAL language of this program is ENGLISH. The frustration comes from the fact that it is not subtitled but dubbed in the most annoying way.

  • FUCKING SPANISH

  • more people in this planet speaks spanish than english, just for your info douchebag

  • speak spanish, not speaks

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks alot grammar nazi,

Do you have any answer to my original satatement?

  • Yeah all the poor people, the richies speak the noble language of english

  • noble language of english?.... FUCKING SPANISH

  • Wrong.

  • 1. Mandarin Chinese - 882 million

    2. Spanish - 358 million

    3. English - 350 million

    4. Arabic - 206-422 million

    5. Hindi - 181 million

    6. Portuguese - 178 million

    7. Bengali - 173 million

    Do your homework

  • Ahhmm..no you are actually wrong there my friend. Well YES...there are more native speaking spanish people but there are over 2 BILLION people that speaks english as a second language and from birth.

Most of them coming from China and India.

  • Have you talk to this people? because I work with them and believe me they do not speak English that you can understand.

  • Look, their lack of knowledge of English is no reason to exclude those who CAN speak english from listening to what these people are saying.

  • Someone posted that many speakers in the world don't speak English. Ok, but do tell me how many countries have English papers or websites providing information in English? I think there are several countries that do.

  • English has well over 500 million speakers if you include second and third language speakers, Spanish has 417 million if you include those two categories. The numbers that you have selected represent only the native speakers of that language.

  • RIGHT

  • I agree with you, those ignorants need to learn spanish. Fcuk those OGTs

  • Fcuk or Fuck

  • OMG... will spanish the speaking people LEARN TO READ already! :(

Use SUBTITLING! You'll even learn some english subconsciously while watching. Vid destroyed by a bi** babbling over the debaters..

  • WHAT an idiot you are... will you EVER have the brains to learn another language? probably not, More spanish people speak english that english speaking people sepeak spanish... (or ANY other language!)

So avoid your ignirant comments please! IDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!
