There was no way they could make Mario ride Yoshi :P

At one point they had Mario and Luigi running around, (some screenshots still exist) but it just didn't work due to the hardware limitations of 1996.

And a lot of the beta enemies and objects were scratched. Either they had no place or there wasn't enough time.

@mariosunshinefaan the DS version is EXTREMELY easy. there are red power up blocks in all level, even the bowser levels. its retarded, way to easy. the characters (mario and luigi especially) jump wayyyy to high compared to the original version. Alot of stars are way harder to access in 64 than in DS. you would play the 64 version and you would see how harder it is.

And there really are red blocks in useless places like on the roof of the boo mansion. getting the star on the roof is harder on the 64 version because you dont have a red block to help you. and in thwomp fortress there are some platforms added that prevent from falling.

@Kenoburned a last thign from me too, it's "whomps fortress" and the star "blast away the wall", it's really easy to see the crack in the wall on the original version...i went back and checked =P and i'll never forget the first timew i did that star (it was on the ds version since i've never owned a N64) - i blasted away the closer wall first, and then the further away one...next time i tried it, i tried to do it in the opposite order, and BAM! i got the star

@mariosunshinefaan alotta people on other videos say how it took them long to figure out that star because the hint "blast away the wall" is unspecific. you played DS version first so you already knew the location of that star. the crack in the wall is really not easy to see on 64 version. you need to look at it carefully if you wanna see it and you gotta be close to it. on DS version the crack is obvious. on 64 version the crack is more like a texture glitch, not a crack.

Im 16 now, but I remember playing this when I was really little. I got 119 stars but could never find the last secret star. I kept playing it and still could never find it. I think I stopped playing it when i was 14 and my mom gave my N64 w/ 20 games away to somebody. I never saw the ending but I decided to today. Seems pretty cool but I cant believe I tried for that last star like crazy just for this to happen. Its all good though, very fun game. I just wont ever finish it 100% :(
