This technique is only good for solid colors The eraser tool is the worst tool in photoshop its for those who dont know how to use alpha channels.

i've been a photoshop user for years, and i believe this is just a tutorial for beginner. i didn't benefit watching this. maybe it would help others. there are many ways to remove the shadow but this is just not it.

man this is not ok ... looks so fake ... use mask next time... and you don't need to copy paste that sh*t, just drag it over another image... and add some ga.blur to give more realistic edges ... and at and add some noise to smelt one image in another...

This is not the best way, in my experience to remove the background of a picture. let alone a portrait. With all due respect, I think channel selection or even the extraction tool is preferable to this method. Problem with the magic eraser is it could pick up trace pixels which belong to its blend, or leave pixels in the hair of this gentleman, making the end result look very fake and amateur. Better to take the time to extract pixels with a more thorough method. But I commend you for the effort

That's one bad way to cut out backgrounds. I would have liked to see you zoom in near the edges of the guy's hair to see how bad the cut is. What you did might work for a 72 ppi picture for the internet, but NOT for a poster or any big size prints.
