you know i find it ironic that alot of british people want to leave the EU to preserve their britishness and they are sacrificing their britishness to do so.
@TheLahness Traditional brits fight to preserve the democracy and freedom of europe do not run away and always look forward. by doing this we are abandoning euriope rather than fighting to make the EU better by running away from it and trying to pretend it does not exist. on top of that most of us are surrendering to nationalism and have gained an unhealthy fixation with WW2.
@CommanderMethos Since it's very creation Britain and the British people have strived to stop Europe from taking over Britain, by uniting with them and signing away our sovereignty and allowing mass multi culturalism because of their laws, we are losing our own national identity, which is and has always been to keep Britain for British.
@TheLahness considering the british are exactly what you described, a union of states that signed away their individual soverignty ect, you are b eing a hypocrit. i would also like tom point out that conflict with europe has come because we attacked them.
@CommanderMethos No, Britain is a union of British, and British have always tried to stop EUROPE taking over, and the very first conflict between a nation on the British Isles and a European nation happened because of a European invasion of the British Isles. Didn't you learn about the Roman invasion of Britain and war against the native British (Celts)? Leaving the EU would be preserving our national identity, why? Because we would be making our own decisions, not following Europe's.
@TheLahness so your sying that the scots and the welsh and the english are the same to within a reasonable standered. because they arnt. the scots and english alone are as diffrent as france and germany. also if you want to go back that far i would point out that we have been successfully invaded several times, our royal family is german i belive and we have also tried to invade europe several times throughout history.
everyone should sign the government e-petition website to leave the EU because this is ridiculous, just search 'britain wants referendum to leave EU' and sign!
Such a shame de Gaulle could'nt keep us out !!! he would have done us a real favour.
I appeal to the British public to vote for UKIP in the next elections, some way off but already voters are sick of the "pact brothers" and Labour does not deserve a chance to foul up our generations lives further.....if you care about your country then do not vote just because you have always voted for one or the other ! vote for change, future generations will see you did what was needed to save Great Britain.
The sad thing is everyone knows nigel farage is right about the eu but its their other policies that make them unelectable. A lot them absolutely ridiculous. Thats the massive problem with democracy in this country - we are forced to choose the lesser evil as the parties have complete control - they tell us what policies we have to choose from. We are literally choosing which dictator we have and there is nothing we can do for 4/5 years. UKIP is not the lesser evil by a long shot. Shame
the UK stay with commonwealth trade leave EU cost million pounds to be member of eu should have free trade with EU nations and the commonwealth has 1/3 world population bigger market ,EU want access to sea through the uk and 1 day commonwealth canada australia new zealand papua new guinea united kingdom would become one country control world trade with natural resource gold oil free trade
Anyway, nationalism is a blind matter. Arguments won't help here. So I will only wish you all good luck and you may continue calling me a fascist or whatever you like, maybe it's the best "argument" you have :)
Look how messages are delivered in the kip office. They have clerks to carry the Japanese toys around?
Maybe if the rest of Europe would add fluoride to their drinking water, created terrorist laws, put cameras on every street corner, close the pub at 11, hunt down 1/3 of the population for smoking a joint and wear wigs maybe then this old man would want us to be part of "his" Zionist family? Amirite?
"The City of London (accounting for roughtly four percent of UK GDP, out of a total financial services sector of around 9 percent of GDP) would benefit from euro area membership"
A conclusions made by UK Treasury.
This assessment ran to around 250 pages and was backed up by eighteen supporting studies, on subjects such as housing, labour market flexibility, and the euro area's monetary and fiscal frameworks.
London generates approximately 20% of the UK's GDP[17] (or $446 billion in 2005); while the economy of the London metropolitan area — the second largest in Europe — generates approximately 30% of the UK's GDP (or an estimated $669 billion in 2005).
Here we have the EU wanting to Regulate it out of existence. There are many of those in Brussels who would love the city to Go.
You seem to be talking complete and utter crap. Gordon Brown himself said that the Euro is not compatible with the British housing system because the mortgage system in Britain is far too different from that in Europe.
@WeAreTheEuropeanz ; But there again the UK Treasury have a vested interest in a deep relationship with Europe unlike the VAST majority of ordinary working people in the UK who simply see their country being controlled by unelected parasites.
I was 18 years old when I was asked to vote on the Common Market I am 55 this year. The E.U.is not what we voted for back then, it is an undemocratic institution which refuses to listen to the common voice.
@shgp1956 Same for me,this was my first vote at 18 but i took my world war 1 veteran Grandfathers words of wisdom that non ( country's) were to be trusted and so he would vote to stay out which i did too.
In 2006 more than 4 million jobs in UK were dependent on the trade with the rest of EU. Exports to the rest part of EU equaled to 15.75 per cent of UK's GDP.
Well, in my opinion cooperations is what would be beneficial for both, UK and EU. I bet UK gov. would like to share its part of the decision making in EU. I bet that is beneficial for UK to have a voice within EU decision making.
These same old arguments. - there are just as many jobs in continental Europe that rely on trading with Britain, we are the EU's biggest export market. As we have said before we would continue to trade with the EU from outside just like Switzerland. Also if you call being one of 27 round a table as having influence then we have a different perception of the word. It would be beneficial if we were outside the EU and could once again make our own free trade deals with the rest of the world.
Those numbers don't matter because UKIP still want to trade with europe and keep the free trading, we import more from Europe than we export so it's in their interest to have us still trading with them. I don't understand how anyone could care more about other European countries infrastructure than our own, it doesn't compute.
Those numbers still do matter a lot. As i have said, UK at the moment has its voice in EU decision making. Those numbers proves, that partnership with EU is important for UK, theerfore the decisions made in EU are also important for UK.
Also it would be naive to think that withdrawing the EU will not affect your trade in any way.
If those numbers are so important and you think that we will lose so much from withdrawing may i ask you what 40 million pounds a day goes on (in the UK), we all know it pays for infrastructure in all of the smaller member states but what do we, the UK get out of that, and on top of that how much of that cash goes on paying for MEPs, on top of their 70k salary they also get a 200,000 pound budget each year to pay for admin and secretary staff for each MEP.
These are obviously figures by the EU. This is something called the Rotterdam effect - where by anything passing through Rotterdam before it is exported elsewhere in the world - the EU counts into its figures . No doubt so it can use it as propaganda, and people like yourselves can post it on forums and alike.
The figures are nonsense, but even if they were accurate it wouldn't matter because we still want to trade with the EU and would if we were outside.
@ukipmedia If you brake it down by nations, you're doing 56% of your trade with 26 nations, that's a little more then 2% per nation. So America is your biggest partner. But that's just going off of what "WeAreTheEuropeanz" said.
@WeAreTheEuropeanz Before the EU destroyed the UK's trade with its' Commonwealth nations the UK was a lot stronger. The UK built the trade of the world through its' Empire, they know more about trading internationally than a bunch of secret communists in Brussels.
UKIP is the only way to go now, all 3 main parties are corrupt as hell
