  • lol edward was shooting at the wrong building HAHAH, DOUCHBAG!

  • I have spilled the blood of an innocent man...man...man....man...man...man......

  • @JamesDonnelly90

You can't generalize a whole nation like that.

Also alot of places in the scottish higlands are still predominantly catholic.

  • @JamesDonnelly90

scotland was catholic at the time

  • Okay, PAUSE @ 3:43. Look at the faces on the wall. Now look at the second one on the left! ALIENS were in Scotland around the time of big Rabbie Bruce!!!! I honestly think the PICTS were aliens; the 'painted' people - mysterious! - who suddenly disappeared?! F-Ing ALIENS! E.T. was in Scotland first!!!!

  • @WuTangWallace

    Idiot.

  • I think Neil Oliver is excellent when he delivers the narrative in his documentaries. He makes the subject matter even more interesting.

  • Does this guy ever change his clothes?

  • I really want to play Edward a game of chess and destroy his medievil understanding of the game. Always found it funny a friend of mine who's really English and I from Scottish descent always play chess and I lost alot until I went away and learnt how to play and now I win. Now when I step up to the board I feel like the Bruce reincarnated.

  • When playing with ruthless medieval Kings one should never dare to win, because they may loose a game but the winner would be hanged, drawn and quartered for the victory still.

  • the winner wrotes his own history Bruce

  • Who was the FX person doing the blood? They are amazing. Love the blood in this documentary!!

  • Robert the Bruce is the English for Medieval Gaehlig, Roibert a Bruis. Robert's paternal ancestry went back to Brieux in Normandy. Robert was descended from a long line of nobles and kings. His mother was descended from Franco-Gaels.

So, in English: Robert the (house of) Bruce.

  • I think this documentary, although created by BBC Scotland, no doubt a Crown Corporation, is decidedly slanted in favour of England and the English. The languages and culture forced on the people of the Islands may currently prevail, but, in truth, three-quarters of the current population of Britain is descended from the Basque people, who are known to be indigenous people to Western Europe.

This land is their land since Paleolithic times.

  • @finallyigotthrough

I think there have been so many invaders that it's save to say the Basque blood isn't pure anymore and GB belongs to the ones who are the best repressors.

  • @glenlivedit

Not so Glen. It is not a matter of blood types but more of the haplotype R1B, most common to Western Continental Europe, as well as three-quarters of the current population of the British Isles, "British" being a Brythonic name. Here, now, don't talk down to me. My ancestors fought with Cromwell to overthrow the English Crown and were granted the finest lands for their share, lands still in our possession. They succeeded. Ties to France are Celtic. Des Gauls Celtique.

  • @finallyigotthrough

I wasn't talking down to you, I just mentioned the invasions and the influence they have had on the composition of the British people.

Since you employ empiricism and I employ rationalism the discussion would go nowhere, plus you know more about the matter so this is pointless.

  • cromwell was an evil bastard who killed thousands how can you glorify that

  • Comment removed

  • @finallyigotthrough surely u can blame scottish kings for forcing english on their people in a language called scots

  • This King Edward is horrible! How does a king wreck war on a people who surrender?

  • I find it exceedingly hard to believe that Robert the Bruce ever lamented the death of his archrival. But history is very kind to the winner.

  • I wonder what a "bruce" is.

  • @davidrodgersNJ Bruce was just his last name.

  • @davidrodgersNJ When they said "the bruce" it's an english translation of "du bruce" or son of Bruce.

  • "I have spilt the blood of an innocent man... man...man...man" 6:37

  • Very interesting information here.

  • Thanks for uploading these, it's good to see such entertaining and accurate documentaries!
