This definitely July 1st of 1901. Check out the Victor Discography website of the University of California, for Burt Shephard male vocal solo Has anybody seen our Cat ? ( prematrilx - B 3483) Recording date July 1, 1901. The recording date for this 10" Victor Monarch is even shown scrawled in longhand under the label along with the title and Shephard's name. This is not a Cylinder Record it is a 10" Victor Monarch Record.
Shephard may well have cut another recording of this song in 1902, but it is definitely not THIS version, which was recorded on July 1st, 1901 and issued by Victor on a 10" Pre Dog Victor Monarch Record. You should send them an email and ask them what record company and version they are referring to. If they are talking about this version, they should correct the inaccuracy.
Geesh got a good find today while out and about.. beautiful piano roll cabinet, taller one, came full of rolls and sheet music, had 198 rolls in it.. paid 10.00
Cant beat that. i will make some videos and show it.
Did you get a chance to find the info on buying a repro of the Ragtime Raustis?
Unfortunately I could not find the website that sells the repros of Ragtime Rastus. I am wondering whether they still make them. If not, you should keep an eye out on ebay, as they do come up for sale.
