Noam Chomsky is an illogical, ignorant communist revisionist. He is a hero to the left however, because his arguments are more polished, though as equally wrong as the uneducated arts and psychology students who scream fascist, and spew rhetoric when their flimsy logic is torn through.
Chomsky, the self described "Anarchist," holds up International Law again and again as some kind of promised land , he describes US Imperialism in detail, and then urges people to vote Democrat. Chomsky told people to Vote Kerry in '04.
When he makes use of international law, he's merely judging an entity, usually the United States, by a generally accepted standard of conduct; I don't see how this clashes with an anarchist viewpoint as it doesn't seem to justify any type of coercion whatsoever. He told people, if I remember correctly, to vote for Kerry in swing states, but still to vote for Nader in uncontested states.
He's not particularly a fan of Kerry, but he knows he's at least not as crazy, stupid, belligerent and subservient to the religious right as Bush. I mean, who is really? Bush is exceptional in his deviance from the norm, even when calibrating the norm with observations constricted to making reference only to the political opinions of politicians hailing from the two major parties. Let's, at the least, get some much-needed stem-cell research going.
Actually he is a proponent of Anarcho-Syndicalism. I think there is a widespread perception that Anarchists, or anyone who believes anything similar are simply black mask wearing goons who paint Anarchy symbols on walls and use their so called beliefs to loot and rob rather than learning about its respectable proponents like Emma Goldman.
LMAO.... I wish i heard comments like that more often in things like that. Sometimes you just need to throw that random shit into serious stuff like that for a laugh lol.
"they were at my BlockBuster shockingly enough" I wonder if you can openly find media critical of the decisions of leaders in Cuba or North Korea in their own country? Yet so many on the left hail these two countries and deflect any criticism of their human rights abuses. I find it quite amusing.
Their are a couple great DVD's out at your local video store of lectures that Noam Chomsky gave Imperial Grand Strategy: The Conquest of Iraq and the Assault on Democracy and a bio with some of his talks called Noam Chomsky: Rebel Without a Pause - they were at my BlockBuster shockingly enough. Anyways they're very interesting.
An excellent documentary which touches on media manipulation in Venezuala is entitled "THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED"... and it is here on YouTube in its entirety:
On the Spanish Civil War article, I remember Chomsky doing an interview with a seemingly-hostile interviewer - imagine that - and the guy started to criticize that article. Chomsky was like, 'Well, I _was_ 10 when I wrote that.' The interviewer's jaw just dropped. The article was 'a lament on the rise of fascism', according to this article:
If he didn't make this story up then Chomsky isn't one of the most intelligent people in the world. But then he would also be one of the most moral people in the world. I mean 6 years old and learning this lesson...
I know I didn't learn this until I was 17. And Most people don't learn this at all.
I'm sorry that sentence made no sense whatsoever, could you please put it in decent grammar so I can understand what you're implying. Thank you. I hope you're not trying to say morality is a sign of inferior intelligence. That would be most unintelligent.
Bullying is inherently just. Chomsky is too liberal

Wish I could find that original Chomsky article!

Chomsky learned a lot early, apparently. Reminds me of his article on the Spanish Civil War when he was 10. Read about it here:

Unbelievable.
