CARNIVAL. Much better than Royal. Carnival's cabin's are much bigger than Royal Caribbean's. I couldn't believe the difference. And Royal didn't have all their bar's open , even during the day, which I have never seen that on Carnival. And the biggest problem was the staff pressureing you for tips on the last night, WHICH I did not like AT ALL. Carnival just seems so much more organized. And I have NEVER had to BEG for towels with CARNIVAL. Not so with Royal in my experience.

Well, first of all, it's unfair to show only 1 Carnival ship and then show 2 Royal ships, and for my vote...it goes to Carnival. I have cruised 8 times, 1 being with Royal, and 5 with Carnival, and I enjoyed Carnival more.

Royal Caribbean is well worth the extra money. Carnival only gets more business because it is monetarily "cheaper". However, on our recent Oasis sailing the ship did sail full with 6200 passengers.

I have been on both and IMHO there is no comparison. Royal Caribbean is in a class by itself. Took Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon. It was an awesome ship with awesome service.

Also, Royal has a place for teens to hang, out and enjoy themselves, with supervised adutls. They really have a blast there, they have games, a soda bar, and they also dance to some music that teens would enjoy. So just go with Royal Caribbean.

Well, you do have to realize that carnival doesn't have no where near any luxary as Royal. Carnival is more of a only kid cruise. So pretty much, your kids would be dragging you everywhere, but, on the other hand, Royal is for the whole intire family to enjoy. Royal has a place for the parents to relax and enjoy, (such as the soulariam deck, for adults only), and for the kids adventure ocean for kids 3-12, all seperated in 3 rooms for the appropaite age group. so go with Royal Caribbean.

i went on a carnival cruise last year called the ecstasy an this year went on a royal carribean. voyager of the seas the r.c. was an amazing boat. so beautiful and details! the carnival was no where near as polished but the carnival cruise was much more fun! and my friends and i booked our next cruise this dec. with carnival the conquest!

RCL FTW. I just got back from a Royal Caribbean cruise and it was awesome. It was the best cruise ever!!!!!!!!! everyone was nice and the food was awesome and the enterinment was exellent. Liberty Of the seas had this game called the quest and it was so much fun. Every time when I go to my room the cleaning staff would always say hello and ask how was your day. The wait staff was exellent. I love to go on another royal caribbean cruise maybe Oasis or Allure of the seas when it finish.

I'll chime in... I like both cruise lines but each has its own specialty:

Royal Caribbean: RCCL is best if you are cruising as a couple. It is a little more classy that Carnival overall.

Carnival: (My Fav single person). If you are single and cruising with your friends or even alone, Carnival is the only option IMHO. If you have children (as I do), Camp Carnival outshines any program at sea (including Disney)...

Side Note: Many people say "Carnival is tacky, etc. etc. Ask them which ship they went on. You get what you pay for! If you take a 3 night Bahamas cruise for $300 and are aboard one of their older ships, your perception might be that it is tacky... Cruise aboard Carnival Dream and tell me more... I find it hysterical when people go on a bargain cruise and whine about the quality...

I have been on both Royal Caribbean International & Carnival Cruise Lines 6 times each and they both are awesome. But I honestly have to say the Royal Caribbean is much more classier and a bit more upscale. I love both cruise lines. It's really what you the cruiser is looking for in service,and willing to $pend. Royal Caribbean Ships are spectacular!

As I say above - if you go on one of their cheap cruises you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR... I just returned form a cruise on the Carnival Dream and it was exceptionally incredible (better than any of my 14 RCCL cruises)...

I have taken 3 day RCCL cruises that were cheap and dirty...

We booked Carnival last year April 2008 from Barbados to the Windward Islands. By March, weeks before the cruise we received a letter from Carnival to say that our cruise was cancelled because the ship is needed for a private hire. Bearing in mind that the cruise was almost full I find it appalling that Carnival can treat customers this way. We got an half written apology which didnt sound genuine. We want to go in 2010 judging by what I have read here I will be going with Royal Caribbean.
