  • Ther's at least two on Tube with V8s! Just a thought. ;-D

  • I swear 107e's came standard with 1300 Crossflow engines not 1litres?

  • @scudy4 No They were a 997cc pre-Xflow.

  • Yeah sorry mate my bad haha. Just seen people put 1300 in them, exactly what i wanna do lol

  • @scudy4 Yes i have seen 1300 and 1600 crossflows and even a 2 litre Pinto!

  • Hell yeah, they sound the nuts haha Old school Ford grunt!

  • This video made me cry with emotion as it reminds me of dogs that have past. Also my Mum owned a blue Prefect 107E when I was a kid. The background song just works a treat with the car and the dog to make the tears flow. Last week we just bought an almost mint condition Prefect 105E. Please find my new video of it .

  • Just got my cars mixed up. Mum owned the Prefect 107E and I just bought the Prefect 100E.

  • Hi mate thanks uploading this. It reminds me of the same type of car my late father owned with ohv 4-speed power train in place of the 3-speed side valve. Like most, it was the dreaded rust that has seen it consigned to the scrap. Still got a rear windscreen and direction indicator light.

  • hi im 14 and am going to get a prefect or similar when im older urs is nice and original its a shame its all corsa and saxos now.

  • Hi, yes you are right! everyone has these Plastic fantastic cars these days,no style to them!

If i were you i would go for a prefect not the popular as the side valve engine and 3 speed box is quite underpowered, otherwise your best bet is a Anglia 105e, A great car, and when you get older you can modify it quite easily with bigger engine & brakes and Lotus steel wheels all without ruining or cutting any bodywork!

  • yes i was thinking 107e and maybe putting in a 1500 pre xflow or a 2L pinto also big brakes better suspension and steering etc but thats for when im about 20 otherwise it will be about 1million to insure lol

  • Yes you got the right idea there! I would go for the 1500 pre X-flow, its lighter and fits straight into the Prefect,

The Pinto is a heavy lump and the bulkhead will need cutting.

Hope you find a good car when you start looking in a couple of years!

  • have you got any idea what sort of front suspension and steering to go for because ive heard the original steering is pretty vague.also what size were the lotus steel wheels.

  • @mk3stargazer Mine's getting a Ford I-4 DOHC engine and 5 spd MT75 box from a Sierra- cheap as chips, 115bhp and same weight as a Pinto ;-) Lots and lots of welding first.....

  • @ThemightymacDiesel

Probably weigh less than a Pinto being the Pinto is all iron.

  • @zapwatt You're probably right, but I don't think there's much in it, what with the extra cams etc..

  • Sad we don't see many of these on our streets anymore. All japcrap like mine! Happy Birthday Mk3!

  • cheers NH6! you should import some classic british cars over! bet you could build up a good buisiness!
