@seison5 Thing is normal people with tragic lives, if they in the end are able to cope with it and live through it, become in a way, better people. I've known so many drug addicts, and most of them fucked up too much to get out of it, but those who did get out of it, have some personal, special aspects to their character that make them stand out. And it's not just about the drugs. People who cope with problems rather than give up, indeed deserve respect, whether you like them or not.

And most people, I think, would green light the idea of leaving their personal lives alone, but that's just almost impossible, thanks to the need for consumerism these days. Paparazzi is probably one of the most disgusting professions. I'd rather scrape shit from the floor than do that.

I couldn't even TELL you exactly how many times I've watched the DVD while listening to Drew & company expound on the movie on the actors' commentary track.

the psyhcology of child actors must be really messed up.forcing someone to cry by telling them that people they love will go away is not cool even for spielberg especially when the kid has so many problems.I can't imagine all the emotional states they have to go through to actually act well.It's really admirable of her that she turned out the way she did, all things considered.

@cisdac actually it's very different.santa claus,even when they believe he's real,is someone they've never seen and have no connection to.but when someone uses the people you love as means to make you weep,then that's psychological abuse.also,kids usually come to the conclusion that santa claus doesn't exist on their own and when they're ready.and no one uses that as work material.also,in a kid's life fantasy plays a major role,it's actually their portal to the world of grown-ups.
