TOTP was notorious for forcing artists to mime. They just didn't want the electric bills to rocket up by rigging up a proper gig. Tight bitches.

Kurt Cobain for example wanted to sing live on there, but they wouldn't let him. Eventually they did let him, but the band had to mime the rest. The band took the piss right out of TOTP when they did perform. You'll see it if you look it up.
