Some say this trailer is bad. When I think about it, it isn't that bad, it just happens to fall very short of representing, in my opinion, the best film of the '00s.

Kaufman's flawless story with Gondry's beautiful direction are excellent enough, but the casting couldn't have been more spot on. The attention to detail, character development and camera work are all amazing. This is a true classic, in my opinion.

It's overall statement: Your experiences, painful or not, create who you are.

Jim Carrey is my absolute favourite actor, and it was sort of weird to see him playing a very serious role in this movie. I'm used to his extremely upbeat, hilarious attitude, but this was simply phenomenal. This movie was extremely worthwhile. Some parts are just utterly sweet, and other parts are heart wrenching. Great acting by all.

They did the trailer in this style because Carrey was so typecast at the time as a comedic actor. He's since branched out and studios no longer feel that they need to mislead audiences about movies starring him in order to have them do well, but this movie was the inception of that.
