I had nothing to do with the slavery. As a Christian, I would not have owned slaves anyway. Black problems come from poor choices black people make, not white racism. Some blacks owned slaves, and some white people were slaves in the united states so why the hell should a whole race of people get reparations. Some of the blacks ancestors probably weren't even in the America's in the time of slavery. If blacks want equal rights why should goodies be handed their way when everyone is equal? Its impossible to determine whos ancestors were slaves or whos ancestors were slave owners because why should the whole country pay as a whole to a group?

Please acknowledge also that many Europeans who owed money to others they couldnt pay were thrown into debtors prisons which were used to populate colonies with slave labor. The Irish and Chinese worked in concentration camp conditions building the railroads. Still each of these groups is being solicited for reparations.

What about the Arab Muslims who captured and enslaved the Eastern European Slavs, N Africans, Italians, Spanish and French until Charles Martel repulsed them at the Battle of Tours. Slavery has existed throughout the whole of recorded human history. All of the people who have been slaves went on to become a great people without reparations. Freedom was all they needed to succeed.

Emancipation Proclamation was ratified by Congress in 1865 -- our ancestors weren't even in this country during slavery.

@MoonbatsAreDingbats Whether your ancestors personally owned slaves or not, Whites benefitted from our enslavement. As quiet as it is kept, slavery didn't end. It only got a face lift. By the way, the Emancipation Proclamation was not ratified by Congress. It was a proclamation that Lincoln wrote up that had no power. It was a document designed to cripple the Confederacy, but he had no power to make it happen. On the other hand, it didn't free the slaves held by a few of the Union states..
