My husband and I are both military and have two gorgeous kids. It hurts every time we have to leave but we know we are going to make a difference in the life of some other child. This is what keeps us going. My children even say thats what keeps them going. Its hard for them but they know that without us there are other children dieing.
it's actually not that hard to join! It's easier to join now than ever before! Don't even have to pass the PT test before entry! You can do it during basic. You should really go have an info sesion with a Recruit Centre. There are trades that are harder than others to join but some are easy to join and the easy ones are some of the most desperate. If it is the school portion you are missing join a GED class as this counts. Good luck hope you are successful we need all the people we can get.

@Dustyownz Just how little effort did you put into enlistment? It the army, it takes time for them to get the paperwork to Ottawa, then to get you set up in the training schedule in St Jean... after that its 13 weeks of seeing if you have the most minor of discipline and teamwork skills. After that, its to your trade training, and if you go combat arms, then that will be larger cock then you got in basic. You want easy, start off in the reserves.

my uncle served in the korean war. and what he said to me was " 2 thought are in your head when you have to kill a man. 1 is should i really take this man's life or should try to make peace with him. 2 is the pressure that you feel when you point that gun at him and your mind is telling you to pull the trigger, but your heart tells you to not pull the trigger. It's a rally hard decision". Anyways, I will be joining the forces when im 17.

17?...I strongly recommend you get atleast a College/University degree...just in case you fuck up in the army...you will still have some doors opened...i've seen it happen to many good people,and when they left after a 5 years contract,they didn't even had a proper future...think about it.
3-4 more years are not that hard,and it's nothing.

Afghanistan is pointless so was korean war. The only war we can say we did something good by being involved into it is WW2.
consider university and if you really want to do the army at least you will have some knowledge and will be an officer....

There doesn't have to be a point to war, and there never really was, but people fight so others don't have to. Today, I think a lot of our future soldiers could kill without a problem. The video games you mentioned earlier desensitize them so killing becomes a much smaller deal to them if they every go into combat.

They'll be shooting at people football fields away, by the time the shooting ends and the move forward to secure their objective --- their going to have to look down at the teenager they were shooting at. You can't tell someones age that far away and you sure as hell can't look into the man you just killed to really see if he's a bad person or just fighting because his country has been invaded. Also let along being killed, watching friends die or having a limb blown off.

@Deffcon0NE You know, people hated the Nazis and I understand why. But why people were so mad at the soldiers? The SS were the bad ones. The soldiers were just pawns moved by Hitler. They had no control over what was happening. Hitler asked them to fight. They couldn't say no. It was an order. The soldiers weren't all bad. They were just fighting to survive and protect their familly from the SS. The army is all about risks. People can't realized that it's not Call Of Duty and you get no fun..

We all think of the same things. You wouldn't be human if you didn't. But in the end its being human and looking at your family that keeps you going. My husband and I are both military and have two gorgeous kids. It hurts every time we have to leave but we know we are going to make a difference in the life of some other child. This is what keeps us going. My children even say thats what keeps them going. Its hard for them but they know that without us there are other children dieing.

it's actually not that hard to join! It's easier to join now than ever before! Don't even have to pass the PT test before entry! You can do it during basic. You should really go have an info sesion with a Recruit Centre. There are trades that are harder than others to join but some are easy to join and the easy ones are some of the most desperate. If it is the school portion you are missing join a GED class as this counts. Good luck hope you are successful we need all the people we can get.

I am trying ot join right now. but they just changed the law that you cant join unless you are a Canadian Citizen. But I was born in the US, Even though my dad is a Canadian Citizen. So I need proof of that before I can join. I am going ot asap!

Dustyownz don't worry your time will come when you can be one. They just want to make sure people who join have a bit more expeirence before getting in. its really easy to get into. Then its a lot of fun. Don't worry what people say about dying. More people die in car accidents then in this war. When time comes you will be able to join. Hooah future soldier.

@Dustyownz Just how little effort did you put into enlistment? It the army, it takes time for them to get the paperwork to Ottawa, then to get you set up in the training schedule in St Jean... after that its 13 weeks of seeing if you have the most minor of discipline and teamwork skills. After that, its to your trade training, and if you go combat arms, then that will be larger cock then you got in basic. You want easy, start off in the reserves.
