The rings come in many different sizes.

For example, I have a very thin one in my cartilage because it's infected and that was recommended for it by the piercer.

@WhatsDog take it out. if you leave it, it will embed into your lip and you'll have to get it SCALPELLED out of your lip. nasty and painful. i see it was a week ago you posted this, i hope you still have the chance to take it out. if you have a longer bar, put that in. if not, let it heal and then get it repierced one it's fully healed and comfortable with as little scar tissue as possible :)

@WhatsDog i had the same problem with my monroe, i went to my piercer and she said if it's only a little bit then not to worry about it but if it gets worse then she recommened taking it out. if you don't want to permantly take it out you could switch to a hoop. I couldn't do that option since it was a monroe but if yours is the bottom lip then you have that choice. Hope that helped you even a little bit^^

You dont need nails....you can just push the ball out...perpendicular to the ring. when its on your lip its a little hard at first but getting it off is easier than getting it on.

It looks like it's very complicated to change this type of body jewelry. Just like with regular body jewelry you can drop and lose the little ball/gemstone. You should try TummyToys belly rings. They are completely different and so easy to change! Just slide it through and snap it shut just like a regular earring. You'll love them! @courtzx you can do it if you have small scissors and tweezers, put the tweezers in the ring, when you get it in your nose (or lip or whatever..), and use the scissors to strech the tweezers and then put that small ball in.. its really painfull but effective..

It's hard everywhere I assume. I got my earlobes pierced a third time [third hole] and it's a bitch to get the ball back in there. If you wear latex gloves it might be easier because of your sweaty hands but I find it easier to put it in after I take the latex gloves off.
