Baseballstud.First off Baseball is sux! Second your running those times at sea level, with lucky wish bone suspention, and i still doubt that you even ran that, and your clunker has to be a trailler queen. 3rd $7200 is small in my check book, i pay people to build my shit. I bet that the 2,000.00 difference that you "saved" on your sweet build your paying for in interest on that credit card you charged all your parts on. Mine is all paid in full, I gank and I bank.
Wow. $7200 dollars. you got fucked. Blueprint of my 383; forged crank, rods, and .125 dome pistons. All cost me $1200. AFR 225cc 68cc heads 1200$. Lunati cam .592 lift, 292 duration, intake and carb cost me $1000. And a pro billet th350 with a 2500 stall, $1000. Total cost $5000, including labor. 485 hp, 537 ft lbs. Had it built for torque. Runs 11s in my 73 c10 with street tires. runs 10 with slicks.
7200$ and that built th 350 1800$ and stall300$......... damn i got my stroker kit 800$ cam lifters 200$ oil pump 45$ gasket kit 60$ machine work heads included 275$ computer tune (yep fuel injected) 175$ =1555$
Here is that word again strapped for cash. Everyone is on a budget and looking for the most bang for the buck hp. It all depends on what & how you are going to put that 383 to use or any motor for that matter. If u do it yourself or pay someone to do it. It will still cost a good amount of money. Plus you got that unexpected cost of parts/ labor in any project. The faster ya want to go the more $s it will run. My internals on my motor aren't going to fail, but i spent more to acheive that.
depends on what you think is good lol. For the do it your self-er, If you have a good complete 350 to start with you could do it for around 1500-2000 if you just get pistons, crank and a cheep rebuild kit and leave everything else stock other than maybe a cam and intake. Some good heads would add another 1000+ to it
bore out the motor, change out the crank to give you a longer stroke like Eagle etc... do not use weak cheap parts good bottom end and top end= great power. Or check out proformanceunlimited they use great parts in their builds.
All you need is a 383 crank for a 350 block witch is 3.75 stroke and pistons for a 383 with 5.7 inch rods. There is some grinding involved on the block and rods for clearance and maybe knock a small dent in the oil pan to get it to fit.
Technically yes but a stock 400 crank wont fit a 350 block. The mains have to be cut down for a 350 block. Thats why I called it a 383 crank because you can order a 3.75 stroke grown for 350 or 400 mains now days
The electric fans are from Summit, you can log onto their web page and find them for about $189.00 part #Summit SUM-G4852. Hope that helps,PEOPLE AGAIN THANKS FOR ALL THE COMMENTS.
The radiator is a "Northern" fans were purchased from Summit, but I don't know the exact name of them. They are not really anything special. If you or anyone do decide to purchase a radiator do not purchases from Northern. This is a second radiator in my truck in less then 3 months, and the company did not want to replace it free of charge due to leaks in the radiator from poor work man ship. My performance shop that did the work on truck, took the cost into their own hands of $300.00 for me.
i dont think ive ever heard of that brand im lookin at a becool for mine and i think perma cool fans would u happen to have the part number to your fans
I suggest removeing your v6 and go v8 and your standard & go auto like TH 350 or 400 trans. Those are both good trannys, but not too expensive. Another thing to consider on any build is to keep in mind are you going to use it for street or strip use. The guys at Proformance unlimited help me out on what type of motor to build and how much HP just look up Proformance unlimited on the web to see some of the motor builds. Hope that helps u some.
Thank you for the suggestions. I was hoping to stay stick, if only because I don't see other trucks with stick. I'll be checking the site you suggested, and if I have to change I will. I have no track experience, and its my daily driver so I think street is where I'm thinking of heading in terms of use. I've seen somewhere that I have the nv3500 tranny and may be able to bolt in a heavier duty nv4500.
