I grew up in suburban Detroit from 1968-90. Only when you travel the world and see other cities do you realize what a shithole Detroit is. And I laugh when I see mayors like Kirkpatrick saying Detroit is still a world-class city. The slums of Mumbai are better than the city of Detroit. Its really a shame when your cities biggest attraction is a single street two blocks long lined with greasy spoons called Greektown. Sad. Detroit is really, really Sad.

I might not live in the city, but I do go to Wayne State. I spend my time on Cass, and I hang out over there off the river walk. We all see the h.q. for blue cross blue shield, G.M., the Fox, and so much more that people that don't realize that the city has to offer them. The suburbs are directly tied to the city of Detroit.
